Chapter 1425 - 1424 - Maester at Work
Chapter 1425 - 1424 - Maester at Work
Kaltara had lived for many millions of years and met many experts that had left strong impressions on her in that time, yet what she saw from a being under 100 thousand years old left her stunned.
Lind Frey was a Triple Maester that had perfectly fused all 3 of his professions to the limit of even touching on Dao! It was not unheard of for high or peak Sovereign Tier Maesters to have such an ability but to employ it as the young dragon was demonstrating to her left her in actual awe.
Van was long gone as his fanatics were too energetic to leave anywhere for long.
She stayed behind and watched once the Convocation concluded to see if he needed any guidance but instead relaxed as pieces were built rather swiftly. What shocked her more was at the same time he was producing weaving plates to be transported across the 4th layer by the Harmonic Dragons.
Each one was at the pseudo-Dao level! How was his soul so strong?!
"Senior, you seem confused about something?" A gentle voice spoke up and Kaltara smirked as she saw the young girl next to her. Illyria had come with others of the Frey Clan. It seemed fate had meddled with their lives and once revealed had caused a re-evaluation of their bonds.
Some were strengthened while others were simply restarted but young Illyria had come to speak to her. The dragon tortoise mix was not unknown but far more profound than it had any right to be.
The fact was, Kaltara was her ancestor. Her mother was several great grand-daughters down from her but she was proud of how her descendant acquitted herself.
Lind had passed along both their existences to each other and now the young girl was learning from her.
"Your adoptive Uncle has surpassed many Maesters I have encountered. Normally, if any of them could touch on the Dao, it would exhaust them for months if not years, but he recovers in a few days." That was the aspect she could not grasp but Illyria frowned at the former relationship between them.
Kaltara smirked at the girl as she rubbed the top of her head.
"You have been spoiled, little one. It is far more normal for Immortals to grow distant but that man kept you all so close you forgot what your race memory showed you. Besides, I can confirm Fate does tug at True Lords more than most. It does not like us having close ties." The truth in her words seemed to resonate in the pale dark eyes of the girl.
"It still was too hurtful to dismiss us like that. He does not deny it was still his will!" Kaltara admired stubbornness. Her race was practically legendary for it, but she also knew the seed of a heart demon when she saw one.
"I am not asking you to forgive but remember that everyone has limits. He did not choose a healthy path to be sure but if he had truly cut out his heart, as I would advise him to be prepared for in the future, his mother would never have reached him. Even cutting you all off, he did think of you as mere objects. He stayed true." Illyria glanced over as a massive pillar made of what seemed to be threaded Vein Sun Glass took shape next to several other pillars.
Honestly, the skill shown shocked her. Her dark eyes narrowed at the group of women that had shown up not even 2 days after the Convocation ended.
It had been amusing to see the once brash and confident True Lord be reduced to a lovesick puppy! It seemed 2 of his wives had become estranged for a long time but had now chosen to try again.
It was not a resumption of their old bond but the creation of a new and healthier one in her opinion.
"The lot of you let him lead you into a delusion. Immortals cannot hope to maintain families like this. The many generations that followed have not been able to keep up and even his own mother has reached the end of her potential." Illyria's face darkened and scales appeared on her skin but Kaltara was not coddling the child.
"You would do well to remember that man is not stopping. He has the true potential to become a Divine Realm, even more so as a True Lord. He will face a very harsh tribulation to overcome that last wall but all of you have reached the end." Her cold words were like ice water to Illyria.
It was a real miracle they had all become Immortals, let alone of similar Tier. Lind was the cause of that. He had worked hard to support and help improve everyone to the limit and beyond in some cases.
His theories and lessons created a sea of production masters that made pills, elixirs, and more to help many cultivators ascend through the cultivation realms with an ease heretofore unheard of.
"Mother forgave him. She told me to be more tolerant as he has a heavy burden." Kaltara narrowed her eyes at that. She had been shocked at what Lind Frey had pulled off as a Sky Realm.
Not least what the race memory actively reaching out meant. Van was right, Lind Frey was something they had not seen in a damned long time but he was more too! He was so much more!
Spirits blessed or cursed was hard to say but clearly the Fiends had caused a response given how uniquely powerful he was against them. Such power could have led to abuse but the group of women clearly were what kept him grounded.
The diverse races were shocking but that could be attributed to Lind, himself. The man was like a fierce crusader the moment anyone was judged on race. The slaver guilds were not happy with his requirements but they were glad he was not imposing more on them.
They could participate but the freedom of the slave had to be included if they won. No negotiation or recapture afterward. It would bring them a ton of resources so they could not complain.
There were those that had their noses too far up in the air that had happily piled on that condition.
"How are his weavings so strong?" She spoke the question aloud but even as he rested from Forging, he engraved sigils without stop. It made no sense!
"His harmony is his soul. If the harmony has truly become a Dao, then his weavings will always be like that now." Illyria spoke of something that made Kaltara bolt upright.
"W–what did you say?!" Illyria looked confused but she explained what harmonies were in 6 elementals. Once the basics were laid out, Kaltara instantly reached out to Van and Helsgath.
They were no less shocked but learned very quickly it was true!
If what was revealed was correct, the power of 6 elementals was severely underestimated! Further, the Harmonic Dragon race was going to be a supreme power unto themselves!
There would be a literal clan war among the aether beasts to mate with them!
The other 2 began to take actions while she informed her followers. Illyria did not understand what she said was so concerning. It was not a hidden fact at all. It explained why 6 elementals were so hard to cultivate at first because no one fully grasped that fact.
"Child, do you understand that the mystery of 6 elementals has always plagued the humans and more recently the demons for so long? Cultivation techniques for the soul were always at the Heaven Realm and above! Now, you are telling me that all 6 elementals have tempered their souls since the first steps into the Soul Realm?!" She froze as a realization hit her.
The more common cultivators of 2 to 3 elements had no harmonies. Even when they added the secondary elements later that did not change but once the missing elements were added, the soul had to be tempered with everything else!
The Soul Realm had been named long ago beyond all living memory including race memory. Only now, with the revelation of what a harmony was, did Kaltara understand what Lind had grasped long ago.
The Soul Realm was about incorporating elements into the soul. If a person could grasp all the elements aligned with their race, they unlocked the tempering of their soul right away!
"We had it so wrong from the very beginning. He truly is a Maeter but not just of his profession! He is a Maester of Cultivation!" The moment she spoke the words, the Heavens rumbled.
All froze as the feeling or pressure came but it was not unpleasant. Kaltara watched in shock as 18 beams of light gently bathed Lind Frey who looked mystified at first but quickly assumed a lotus position.
His aura swiftly became more profound and Kaltara narrowed her eyes as the feeling of Dao increased! Impossible! How?!
His tier did not shift a single step but he could now seemingly tap into even more of his Dao! She watched as his speed increased instantly!
"By the spirits, my connection as a True Lord revealed something even he did not yet grasp but now he does." She slowly came to understand what had happened. True Lords were much closer to Heaven and Earth as all aether beasts were closer than humanoids.
Elementals and aether children were the only ones closer but even they struggled compared to beasts.
By recognizing what Lind had done, Heaven and Earth acknowledged him as well! He had been given further enlightenment on top of what he already knew!
"Ancestor, what was that?" Illyria was flustered but Kaltara was unsure how to explain it. She was far too young to grasp what had happened but her mind was far more open than others.
"I will attempt to explain but if you feel any pain, we will stop." The young girl nodded and she spoke with her. Illyria never had pain but both stopped as a shadow suddenly covered the sky.
They looked up to see a massive platform had been forged that now held all the previous pillars. It was floating in the sky!
"Just what is he making?" Illyria actually smirked at her question.
"The future." A wisdom was reflected in both their eyes as the Harmonic Dragons flew around the new structure. They could almost see the cheering crowds and gambling windows shaking from the betting that would be allowed.
Steaming food and drink served by the ton or personally in VIP stalls. It was only the foundation but it was like they could see how it would turn out as the Vein Sun Glass sparkled as it refracted all light beautifully.
Watching a master at work was always thrilling but Kaltara found herself feeling young again as well! She wanted to see more! Much more! She would too, she swore it! She would be there when the first tournament took place and she would enjoy every moment of it!
