Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1424 - 1423 - Idiots

Chapter 1424 - 1423 - Idiots

He had expected resistance. He had expected to have to hammer out various details, but he honestly had not expected them to keep trying to get every advantage for their particular faction no matter what was said!

They honestly tried to get Lind to give a handicap to the Sovereign Land natives for crying out loud!

Compared to before, it was far more muted but he got unexpected help from the other 2 True Lords.

The Roc True Lord offered a chance to learn from him in regards to his Daos as well. True Lords were unlike other beings in that Heaven and Earth allowed them to step just beyond the current realm they were in.

The Tortoise True Lord made the same offer after poking fun at the Roc True Lord for imitating a dragon. Lind had sighed but it actually helped tip the scale to move things in the direction he wanted.

The issue came afterwards as each faction then had some infighting.

The Supremacy Faction had humans and demons vying for some kind of separation of their races so that they could claim they were the best demon and human respectively. Lind had wanted it simplified but the guilds then put a wrench in it.

They wanted the tournament to be a single whole by using their creations in the actual battles. It was an interesting idea but that then brought up how an item would be used. Things would be difficult to test unless they were of similar nature.

Weapon versus weapon and so forth. Lind had a few ideas but the Guild Faction then tried to make it all about their respective professions. It essentially went that way with each faction save 1.

The Fiend Eradication Faction was against the tournament as a whole. They did not care about Daos or anything other than wanting the power to find and kill Fiends.

Lind found that point of view easy to satisfy but they still refused to point blank deny the tournament idea.

For some reason, the various factions wanted a unanimous agreement no matter that the 3 True Lords could get the majority on board and that Lind could isolate the 3 lands with his weavings.

He knew some were doing it to simply avoid truly moving forward but Lind was reaching the end of his patience. He could accept modifications and compromise but it was becoming an endless circle again.

He wanted to attack them again but he doubted it would resolve anything but his frustration.

It was still tempting.

Lind decided to try a more direct approach with the Fiend Eradication Faction.

"Pardon me, True Lord Frey, but did we hear your correctly? You wish to challenge us to direct battle?" The room had become silent once more after Lind proposed his solution. It was quite simple.

The Fiend Eradication Faction had but one goal, to kill Fiends. Thus Lind put forth the idea that if he proved he was able to defeat the entirety of their faction, he would get their agreement to the tournament resolution.

"I did not stutter nor mispronounce any words. You stated over and over that the tournament serves no point so I will show you that it does directly." Confusion spread in the room as they did not make the connection but the man speaking to Lind frowned deeply.

His scarred face and fine armor showed he was a professional soldier but Lind did not care as his pale eyes looked at him from their table.

"There are millions of us. Even if we restrict the Sovereign Tiers power to the peak of Radiant Tier, you will lose. Why make this absurd challenge?" Lind smiled at his gravelly voice.

"I may have made a misunderstanding." Some nodded without realizing but Lind's smile made a chill enter the room. "I said I would show the value of the tournament by facing off with all of you."

Lind's fingers lit up with emerald light as he snapped his fingers. The sound of shattering metal and the flare of Qi came from across the entire room.

Some were very small, but the Fiend Eradication Faction members were like fireworks. No screams of pain but shouts of surprise filled the room.

Even the True Lords behind him seemed to have a few items shatter on them. That last surprised Lind but he merely waited for the realization to settle in.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" The scarred man nearly stormed the True Lord table but seemed to understand he would only invite death if he did.

"Everything you had was from the Frey Clan I founded. I created the entire foundation behind those items you all find so useful, but they have a weakness. Me." Shock spread through the room but that was not all, outrage rose until the auras of all 3 True Lords brought them to heel.

"For those outside of my challenge, I will personally replace your lost items free of charge. I have noted you all and are free to even ask for customization." That mollified many as a Triple Maester was highly sought out regardless.

The powers making up the Fiend Eradication Faction were not happy at all but were getting ready to leave the Convocation entirely.

"You may not want to leave. It was not just those in this room that lost items but all outside in the waiting area. I can do it anytime, anywhere." Lind was tired of dancing around the combination of denial and idiocy.

The groups in front of him were too entrenched and while his proposal was not rejected, they used the single faction not participating as a way to keep things tied up.

"You wanted to know the point of the tournament for you, fine. You want tools and weapons to help fight Fiends. All the ones you held can be destroyed at my whim but equally I can make far more effective ones. The winner of the tournament of combat may request a single item from me to the limit of my ability without providing any resources at all." Dead silence dropped across the room.

It was one thing to aim for certain prizes known beforehand as many tournaments but to have the chance for a personalized item was the dream of any Immortal. They knew of the expertise of Lind Frey as his ability to make spirit tools was well known but he then held up both his arms.

"Abby and Ember, come out." The 2 women appeared and both spirits were exquisite in aura but that was not what shocked the room. The damage to Lind's arm was clear. He had hidden it yet they recognized the level of damage came from Dao!

"Many of you may not know these 2 but they were once tool spirits that were part of the keys to a Divine Inheritance in the Endless Peaks." Many did not grasp it but the same scarred man looked shocked before his aura swept over the 2 spirits.

They hid nothing and other auras quickly followed.

"Impossible! They–they have been altered!" A woman in the refiner guilds shouted and many Immortals quickly grasped what she meant.

The Daos of the 3 Inheritances was well known but they also understood that tools made for such areas were of limited use. Once their purpose was fulfilled, the tools would usually go inert.

That was a vast chasm from making spirit artifacts or weapons. That was making potential growth items!

The 2 spirits returned to Lind and he just barely suppressed the wince as his arm was still in pain.

"You understand what I offer now?" Lind made it clear to them what he could do offensively and productively.

"You swear that this offer is possible? That you can create such items?" The scarred man spoke up much more respectfully and Lind summoned a blade.

It was not ornate nor any material they saw as impressive but auras washed over it to find it was a weapon with a feeling of resonance. It could become a spirit weapon!

For Immortals, it was far more impressive for them. A spirit could already exist and thus its abilities are far more impressive yet limited by compatibility to the cultivator.

A weapon or artifact with potential, however, could be nurtured to perfectly match a cultivator. It took longer but Immortals had time. Further, the reflection of the spirit could help them make progress on their own path!

It was the dream not only of refiners and Forgers but of all cultivators to possess!

Lind put the sword away and stood up. His point was made. His plans would go forward at last and by the spirits, any further road blocks would be smashed aside.

[Junior, while prizes and drives are easily done, you still need to have a place to hold such an event. Sovereign Tiers unleashing their full power for life and death is no joke as you well know.] The Tortoise True Lord spoke and she was the most serious he had ever heard her.

He saw both of them looking at him expectantly but he merely shrugged it off.

[I have spent the better part of my time in the Throne learning what I can do. More than anything, I know the kind of power it will take better than anyone. And I have access to such power.] He then glanced around him and they both also grasped what he meant.

The entire Throne of Defiance was outside the normal limits of the Celestial Fields. It was full of half-step Dao potential and if Lind could match that, he could easily contain any number of peak Sovereign Tiers.

[How long to make it?] The Roc True Lord brought up a good question that even Lind did not have a good answer for. Still, he could estimate parts of it. A quick calculation made him frown but there was little to be done about it.

[If I start now and am left in peace, 50,000 years minimum.] He found the number very similar to Ember's progress. He might be able to become more efficient by some experience but he could not avoid the drain on his dantian. Pushing his elements and harmony took massive effort.

Still, that was fine. Time would allow for the weavings to be built as well as he could do that far more easily. It also allowed the Under Lands to recover even more and grow more Sovereign Tiers of their own.

The 2 True Lords nodded and smiled at him. They just needed time and time is what they would give him.
