Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1415 - 1414 - Convocation

Chapter 1415 - 1414 - Convocation

Cyntilla looked at her broken arm as if it was normal. The dried blood soaked her battle robes with her broken helm at her feet. She was in a tent that stank of blood and death.

Her virulent yellow eyes were currently exhausted but the line had held.

"Lady Cyntilla, I bring a report." A young man missing his left arm and covered in inscribed bandages knelt in front of her. His missing limb would normally not be a problem for an Immortal no matter the tier but after nearly 2000 years of war, things were becoming tight.

She waved at him to proceed despite the rather public setting.

He put his right arm double tapped his chest before his dark eyes became grim.

"The Heavenly Maiden Sect and Divine Sword Sect lost 2 of their elders today. The Rubyfire Empire had to give up all their ground based positions–" It was not just the 4th layer at war but the entirety of the Celestial Fields.

The Frey Clan firmly held the 1st layer as the old powers simply had no time to pierce that deeply. They also did not feel inclined due to their old habits.

They had suffered greatly at first because of that but they had shifted the war down to the Endless Peaks and the 2nd layer after the first 500 years of losses.

Some exposure of Fiend agents had also slowed them down as the bastards were enjoying fishing in all the chaos for advantage.

It was the one thing the many sides agreed to suspend attacking each other for.

That last part was the other issue. No true alliances existed. Old grudges, opportunities, and just plain greed had many powers just lashing out at each other.

Part of the reason resources were so strained was due to the fact the Frey Clan was actually fighting close to 4 wars at once!

She pushed aside her dark thoughts as Mira came over looking exhausted. She was still only a Radiant Tier but had long since been brought up to be protected in the 4th layer.

A vial with only a few pills left was handed to her.

"It is bad. We lost a few hundred more before they could be brought here. Alchemists and elixir masters just can't keep up." Cyntilla felt something press on her chest at those words. The messenger also stumbled as he had clearly not known.

"Any word on Lind?" Mira looked pained. The war had been held to a stalemate for 2 centuries thanks to Lind doing the impossible once more. He established a Throne!

Yet, that ultimately became an issue. While it had not happened in living memory, there were ancient records. A newly established Throne had many advantages due to the blessings of Heaven and Earth, yet it had downsides as well.

One of them was that Lind was stuck. He had to consolidate the foundation of his Throne much like a cultivation breakthrough. He was alive and safe but Ethry had come back to let them know that the Throne of Defiance would be locked out to all for the moment.

The newly hatched Harmonic Dragons had to be allowed to grow before anyone could be safely allowed around them.

She had scorched scales to prove her words too! The power of the new dragon race was terrifying but limited. They were only at the Soul Realm to start. They could grow easily to the Sky Realm by the present, but that was of no help to them.

The enemies took advantage of that and stationed forces to keep an eye on the wall of emerald flames. Unlike other areas, even Sovereign Tiers could not force their way in despite changing the landscape just outside of it.

Large mountains had been erected to fence in Lind. He was being watched but the rules of Sovereign Tiers still held.

Cyntilla's injuries were due to over-extending herself to protect her forces. The instant she acted, she had been ambushed but when it failed to kill her, all attacks stopped.

The Ultimate Phantom Wolf was her nickname now. If she was not killed, she would retaliate with her short sword style. While other demons had a variation of it, she had pushed it far beyond the original.

Lind had been the key to altering her Arts but that one had been with her the longest. Normally, a cultivator would replace skills and Arts to match their realm but Lind simply modified them!

He was truly monstrous in that aspect.

Pain snapped her back as the pills finally repaired her arm. She frowned at how slow they were being.

She was developing a resistance. If she was coming to that problem, how bad were their forces that had far more injuries. She recalled the losses and looked up to Mira's dark green eyes only to see her nod.

"Elixirs are still working but pills are becoming an issue. We have to purge the impurities or they will actually be poisoned by our healing pills." Cyntilla felt a chill go down her spine. That was not a small issue with the numbers they were talking about.

"What about the other side?" Mira shrugged but glanced at the shell shocked messenger. He coughed before consulting a jade communication stone.

His eyes narrowed but then a look of relief passed over him.

"Based on the information network, many of the enemy forces are in worse shape than us. Our elixir masters and alchemists are able to make much better products and delay impurity buildup. Heaven and Immortal Grade items actually are more common for us." Cyntilla nodded but it was still not good.

Based on her current state, she would need to cultivate for centuries to purge her current resistance rate.

She had modified techniques to help as well as the likelihood of several Purging Elixirs to help. They were only used in conjunction with cultivation sessions but they not only removed impurities but also stabilized elemental imbalances caused by the ingestion of too many pills or elixirs.

It was only an aid, however, as the cultivator still had to use their technique to purify their foundation ultimately.

"This can't go on. Soon, all sides will lose numbers on a scale that even the Fiends could not pull off." Cyntilla's words made Mira and the messenger look grim. No one could deny them.

The ever present threat of the Fiends had been tempered in recent history but all knew they were quietly rebuilding their forces.

The current chaos simply was too tempting so they had been exposed earlier than they planned from how they acted.

Rather than fight to the death, they retreated quickly and did not over commit. Such cautious actions made it clear they were not ready for the previous activities but none knew where they were hiding at all.

The Endless Peaks was the only layer truly devoid of them because of the aggressive colonization by all powers plus the 3 Divine Inheritances seemed to affect Fiend Qi as the war had revealed.

The Fiends had tried to infiltrate the Serenity Sect camps only to die the moment they entered the layer!

If things continued as they were, the only real victor will be the Fiends.

She was about to reach out to her own forces when a pressure suddenly struck from the sky! She recognized the quality of it but not the origin.

She also had a lot of tolerance thanks to who her husband was.

[[Enough.]] Two voices spoke in unison. Cyntilla saw a flash of a roc and tortoise but it told her enough.

[[The wars must stop. You have ravaged the Celestial Fields and there is no end in sight. Further, the Fiends have now been moving openly. Our Fellow Daoist has been kept so busy protecting you all that he barely consolidated his Throne.]]

That revelation was a surprise to all in the tent. Lind had been on the move? However, it made a lot of sense he was not heard from if he was fighting Fiends all that time. His harmony was the most devastating to them and he knew them far better than most.

[[Convocation has been invoked. All relevant leaders will meet at the Throne of Defiance in 3 months. No battles will be allowed between now and then for any reason. If anyone attempts to use this time to enact sabotage or other vile acts, you will die.]]

A sudden weight pressed on Cyntilla like she had taken an Oath. The power of True Lords was terrifying.

She knew certain areas had been avoided by all by unspoken agreement. Two, in particular, had been places no one dared even approach as a means of safe transport.

They were the areas the 2 known True Lords ruled.

Abusing their right to privacy resulted in instant death. Idiots had tried.

The Frey Clan had no contact with them directly but a few of the powers under them had been trading before the wars began and the borders closed.

The True Lords had now imposed an order on them all. Such an act clearly required several conditions to be met or they would not do it. Lind, certainly, had likely been requesting anything to stop it when it became clear that the wars had become all about attrition to see who came out the other side.

[[Additional - The Under Lands are included in this convocation. They will have equal standing with all other leaders.]]

The last message made Cyntilla smile. It may be others saying them, but she saw her husband's hand in it.

"Who will we send?" Mira's question reminded Cyntilla that Lind was going to be a True Lord at the coming meeting, not a representative of the Frey Clan. Still, the answer seemed obvious.

"Ethry for certain but also Annabelle." Mira arched an eyebrow but smirked as Lind was in the dark about that change. They had neglected to mention it to him. It was only fair.

She wished she could be there to see the Throne and his reaction when the pair arrived.
