Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1407 - 1406 - True Lord Accord

Chapter 1407 - 1406 - True Lord Accord

Helsgath, that was the name he had now. He stood before his fellow True Lord and realized something no one else would. It was not just a fellow True Lord in front of him. He smiled at such a miraculous thing to witness with his own eyes.

Still, that did not change what was before him. He was not simply meeting a fellow True Lord at a meeting or due to some exchange, but given an ultimatum by an opposing race.

He found it foolish given he actually agreed with Lind Frey's position as none of the current slaves had done a damn thing to his race.

Yet, that was not reality. Lind Frey was an idealist, even after living through all he had. Helgath knew pragmatism was the best rule to live by. What he retained over his many cycles knew that but he knew the being in front of him was not holding ideals due to naivety.

He was burned in the fires of his own foolishness and against far mightier foes. He was not standing there unable to carry through his threat.

The fact Helsgath had felt so many Daos not long ago and were at the command of Lind Frey, should give anyone pause. He could not fully control them, which only made him far more dangerous.

Threats were not taken lightly but their situation was sticky. Nothing good came to his mind.

If he gave in, the current situation would be resolved but their enemies would sense weakness. If they fought, it could be devastating to their Throne.

The result would be far more enduring than the loss of face but living elders and leaders would consider the first worse than the latter.

Helsgath was trying to find a resolution when Akira came near him.

[Master, that is not all the power he has. My Qi is limited but my raw strength is not. He can fight a Divine Realm spirit with that barrier alone. If he has any attack Art or technique of similar skill, there is no power that could stop him.] Helsgath already suspected that.

There had been reports of the final attack against the Crimson Venom Spiders. It was terrifying in its power but the peak Sovereign Tiers had survived.

Whether that was intentional or not was unknown, but the rest of their forces were wiped out.

He had at least 1 such Art. It would be wise to assume he had more or other options. Helsgath was feeling pressure for the first time in a very long time. His many lives had stress like anyone but he rarely felt it just by knowing about someone before.

"True Lord?" The Nightflame Matriarch spoke up and he nodded. She relayed what had originally drawn him over. His eyes went wide.

The Seed technology was not exactly new but the Frey Clan had proven they could take it to extremes beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

It seemed the harmonic crystals were the key to it. A resource that could not be created easily yet the Frey Clan could. Other 6 elementals were rising but the Sigma Empire was destroyed now.

The only real power that had expertise was the Frey Clan for the moment.

"You are really willing to teach us this?" Helsgath was more than intrigued. It was not well known, but beast races would benefit far more than others with Seeds.

Lind nodded at him. His emerald eyes glowed and 12 Seeds reappeared.

The natural and demonic elemental sets!

"The Celestial Qi is not of much use and can be deadly if not carefully controlled. I can promise to lend you people that can aid in that but it will take centuries. Are you fine with that?" Immortals had nothing but time and Helsgath was interested but it was not enough.

Lind was not just asking to free the slaves he had behind him, he knew, it was all of them.

"It is a massive step but I need something more immediate. I need something that will deter certain issues that will come up later. Do you understand?" His words seemed to satisfy Lind Frey who slowly nodded.

"I have a few ideas but my name or association is a bit of a poison pill right now." That was putting it mildly. Any power not previously associated with the Frey Clan would invite the ire of just about all the Sovereign Lands.

Some Thrones were also opposed to them.

"What do you suggest?" Lind then pointed at him and himself. Helsgath was confused but Akira actually smiled.

[It is clever. There is something you can use but it will require revealing yourself, Master.] Helgath had wanted to do that long ago but he was still weak, relatively speaking. Still, the current situation could be advantageous if he understood it.

[What is he suggesting?] She turned to him as she realized something.

[True Lords can make an Accord. They invoke their respective Authority and make an agreement between them. Identities are not required as Heaven and Earth will affirm it. Still, how does he know about such things as his Guardian should be restricted like me.] Lind Frey seemed to infer their silence as a conference as he spoke up.

"I was in a place that let me learn many things I normally could not." He revealed no more but both Haro and Akira seemed to understand something between them. For the first time since he had known her, she looked truly shocked.

He looked at the black ring on his hand and the shimmering bird of fire matched his own colors. He took so much for granted in regards to his Guardian but he realized he knew far too little about her.

Perhaps curiosity would be better to indulge than he had. Phoenixes often lose the drive to ask questions due to having lived so many lives.

"What do we need to do?" Lind smiled at him but turned to Haro. The dark skinned bald man looked more serious than ever before as he also turned to Akira.

The 2 spirits nodded at each other and the rings suddenly glowed. Knowledge flowed into his mind and Lind Frey was already moving.

The new knowledge made Helsgath respond in kind.

The pressure in the room suddenly skyrocketed but it did no harm. In fact, it seemed solemn to all. It was not only in the cavern, however, that such pressure existed.

The Throne of Living Fire suddenly became the focus of all the Immortals. The 2 other True Lords also noticed and leant their power to spread the understanding to all.

{An Accord has been reached. The Throne of Living Flame shall discontinue its acts of slavery henceforth. The price has been paid and agreement reached.}

Four voices reached all and every being felt Heaven and Earth rumble in confirmation. Although the lower realm cultivators were confused, all the Immortals felt shock in their hearts.

The enemies of the Throne of Living Flame scrapped many plans as they could invoke negative karma on levels they dared not engage in.

Even allies were wary as an Accord was not something done lightly. The True Lords broke apart and Helsgath felt enlightened. He realized something new as well. The reason he was a True Lord.

"You defeated my predecessor." It was not a question but a statement. Lind looked confused at him.

"I did defeat a True Lord of Phoenixes but that was much more recent." Helsgath smiled at him in almost pity.

"Time inside an Inheritance is not a simple flow from past to the future. I only know it was you." Lind Frey seemed to have many questions but neither of them had the answers.

Their ring spirits were also absent as whatever the Accord had done drained them.

"Very well, we have reached an agreement without future issues, for now." Helsgath sealed the agreement while the Nightflame Matriarch just looked like she was ready to become engulfed in the flames of rebirth.

Lind Frey looked pale and he imagined he did not look much better.

"Thank you." The words made the room freeze but Helsgath understood. While it could have simply been a parting of ways after using a trick to keep enemies at bay, Lind Frey still expressed gratitude.

He dismissed his wards and the smaller children ran to him and clustered around with tears in their eyes. The adults were not far behind.

Helsgath noted the stark difference between them. Lind Frey still seemed to be able to see the world like a mortal. He had a true Immortal's grace but he did not separate himself from them.

It made him contemplative that perhaps Immortals could learn a thing or too from Lind Frey.

"We will take any jade slips you have on Seeds before you go and I will issue you a pendant to be able to walk the Sovereign Lands without issues." The additional offer only made sense after the act they took together.

He almost pitied whoever got in Lind Frey's way. It was like he was a nexus of change and the old rules could not stop him.

The man smiled at him as Helsgath sent orders. The Frey Clan could not take them in directly without giving the game away too quickly but the Clan had set up several villages and cities in their territory that needed manpower badly.

There were other powers as well that refrained from slavery. Since the Accord made public that condition on them, it would be fine to make such arrangements.

Still, a few other things drew his eye. The teaching artifacts were actually smoothly working in the children's hands! In a few days he was able to make such changes?!

No wonder the Frey Clan was so powerful. If their found had a firm grasp of elemental theory that it could improve others in days, what would happen in centuries?

He felt like he had forged a good bond today. The future was about to become very interesting.
