Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1406 - 1405 - Eternal Azure Flame Phoenix

Chapter 1406 - 1405 - Eternal Azure Flame Phoenix

Bright azure hair, red wine eyes, skin that shimmered with red, orange, and yellow colors to seem like his skin was flames.

His robes were made of peak grade 7 items but Law Grade inscriptions enhanced the item to medium Law Grade.

Lind took all that in but that was not the thing pulling his attention as he noticed a black ring on his right hand. It was similar to his own!

Haro instantly appeared and the reaction from the Nightflame Matriarch was to instantly kneel. The other soldiers, not suppressed to being immobile, also followed suit.

Another figure also appeared. She was nearly snow white skin but the tan robes were the same. Her eyes were a vibrant blue with hair that shimmered like it was made of water and light. Her svelte figure enhanced her beauty but unlike Haro, she felt very cold.

Her eyes could make glaciers.

"Haro, what has your bastard True Lord done?" Lind arched an eyebrow but then saw the young man next to her sigh in a way that felt infinitely familiar to Lind. She was not being rude to him out of spite, it was just the way she was!

Haro also put a hand to his forehead.

"Akira, you have been warned of being so distant like that before. True Lord of Phoenixes, it is an honor to meet you." Haro switched from talking to his fellow tool spirit to the True Lord of the Phoenixes.

Lind also bowed but only as an equal. While he could tell the phoenix was slightly older, their cultivation was worlds apart.

LInd was a Sovereign Tier but the True Lord in front of him was only a Sliver Tier.

He also was not known in any of the information he had been given.

"I must thank you, Fellow Daoist. If not for whatever you just did, I would have been unable to come here." There was excitement in his voice which revealed his youth but his red wine eyes held a flicker of someone far more ancient.

"What cycle are you on, Fellow Daoist?" Lind's question caused many present to flinch but full throated laughter came from his target!

He was laughing so hard, in fact, that his humanoid form grew wings of azure flame. Lind narrowed his eyes as even he felt a slight threat from them but Haro's eyes went wide.

"Impossible! How are you here?!" Lind did not understand but even the youth nodded in acceptance of his words.

"It happens during rebirth sometimes. If we touched on Dao or had a lucky chance, our bloodline can make leaps to a higher quality. As to the earlier question, I am currently on my 463rd cycle." The phoenix had lived and died 462 times before the current incarnation!

Such a span of time was unfathomable to Lind but he knew it came with several massive caveats. One was just mentioned.

If the phoenix could improve their bloodline at the time of death to rising from their ashes, they could lose part of their old memories as the massive amount of information on their new bloodline could be like a flood erasing a muddy bank.

It was damned rare but it was recorded for a phoenix to face such a risk.

In essence, it would be closer to a true rebirth rather than simply starting over. While some knowledge was always lost, it was usually trivial information, nothing vital.

The leap in bloodline, however, was indiscriminate. They could literally become a blank slate with only their new instincts honed into their soul.

"It was unexpected but not anymore than waking up as a True Lord as well!" Those words shocked Lind completely. How?! How could a new life start off being a True Lord?!

His face must have betrayed him but instead of answering, the youth turned to Haro who looked shell shocked.

"Master, just as you are a progenitor of a new Divine Dragon Race, there those than can invoke that ancestral line to almost the limit. Just as we recently experienced, these bloodlines are given a certain title." Haro then pointed at his right arm and he understood.

"Eternal?" Why was that word the peak? It simply was another word for infinity in his mind but cultivation had changed other words over and over again. He then realized why it was used.

It was because nothing could surpass it. It was also clearly rare.

"Master, you are seeing an Eternal Azure Flame Phoenix. They are one of 2 Eternal Bloodlines I know of in their race." Lind was curious but time was not his friend. He had wasted enough.

"While I would love to learn more, I need to save my wife. However, I will not let these people become slaves again. Do you agree to my terms?" The tension in the room shifted but it was the ring spirit, Akira, that was the source.

"You dare?!" She moved but Haro did not even budge. Lind calmly stood still until a barrier snapped into place and she was sent flying backward.

The Nightflame Matriarch was now the one shocked.

"How can you resist a Divine Tool Spirit?!" Confirmation of what Haro should be was a minor gift but Lind turned as Akira was hardly bothered by her failure.

She did not invoke Qi at any point. It was just pure strength. The restrictions on the spirits meant their power was mostly blocked off until their master reached the appropriate realm in their cultivation or the right location to recover their power.

Haro sighed as once more, Lind's barrier easily deflected her. It was actually a good test of its limits. The barrier was not about defense but about the enemy's force.

It was triggered at will and used his half-step Dao elemental nodes to power it. At the current consumption, he could stand there forever.

The spirit simply could not generate enough force to strain his nodes.

"Let me know when you are bored." His words only made it worse for her but that had been the point. She finally lit up with Immortal elements.

Lind then let his eyes glow before his hands blurred. All the Qi dispersed as if it never existed!

"Anytime you want to call it, just say so." His confidence finally pierced her anger. She realized like everyone else that he was not using his Authority or any other active power.

"How are you doing that? Even if your Talents are at their peak, you should not be able to touch mine!" He smiled before his aura lit up.

The 6 phantom nodes were unleashed and now even the cold distance she seemed to try to maintain vanished in awe. His harmony then lit up lining his body and the Nightflame Matriarch understood!

Compared to the Daos she could barely touch on, one Dao made up the core of Lind Frey himself!

It was no wonder he could fight above his cultivation level! He had access to power above the entire Immortal Realm!

She also felt her anger melt away as she realized he could have killed them all with ease!

Suddenly, another Dao invaded the demonstration. It was also a flame but of a much different quality! It was highly refined!

Lind saw the Eternal Azure Flame floating above the True Lord youth. Rather than awe, he felt like something shifted in his understanding of Dao. All 6 nodes and his harmony were suddenly more transparent to him.

More power was applied and the feral smile on the youth proved he was having fun. Lind, seeing the rest of the room, knew it had to stop.

Black clouds swiftly appeared and a single emerald bolt slammed into the auras of them both. He felt a soothing relief from the strain of using his Dao so much.

The youth was sent to his knees but he was otherwise unharmed.

"HA! HA! HA! Excellent! That was enlightening!" He stood up and dismissed his aura. Lind withdrew his own too.

"Akira, are you satisfied?" He turned to his spirit who looked like her world had been turned upside down.

"How is he not dead? That is not a normal Dao!" The instant she spoke, a rumble was heard from above. It was not Lind but the actual Heavens expressing a warning.

"I am aware, Spirit Akira. I have a broad base of knowledge and this is my 3rd body in this life." His revelation made many look up sharply.

It was known he was a beast soul. A human or demon that were acknowledged by the Heavens and the related race to be transformed into one of them. Lind was a massive exception in that vein.

Yet, it was accepted that their original body was slowly replaced over time.

Lind said he was on his third which was not something well known at all. The myths and legends about him did not always make it easy to sift rumor from fact.

"So, you did die?" The True Lord of Phoenixes seemed very interested.

Lind, though, had enough.

"I have to go. Choose: do we part in peace or fight it out right here?" He gave his ultimatum and now it was on them. Either he was about to fight a whole Throne or he would get his way.

There was no in between today for him.
