Chapter 1386 - 1385 - Dao of Forging
Chapter 1386 - 1385 - Dao of Forging
He examined the sextant carefully until he grasped each and every piece he could. The materials were actually not that difficult. The ores the witch provided him were actually not far from the same quality.
The Blue Fire Death Silver was a rather unique ore so it could not possibly be the same but he could salvage the materials of the sextant itself. He felt they were compatible.
He examined his schematic and frowned as his idea was feasible but it was not as simple as making a new lens alone.
The sextant was able to adapt because the Divine Realm formation master was that good at their job. It had been able to strain itself enough to accept his rudimentary addition.
He held great respect for the formation master.
The bits and pieces he had scraped from his feeble understanding showed he was never a formation master even remotely. Sigils made so much more sense to him but he knew the reverse was true.
Despite Annabelle being a fearsome formation master, she never grasped his weavings at all.
His ability to pierce illusions was solely down to her being so much better at the craft. In comparison, other formations were just full of flaws to his senses.
However, in comparison to even the broken arrays on the sextant, Annabelle had a long way to go.
He also was just a frog in a well. He felt humbled and excited at the same time. It was like he was back with his Masters learning a new craft. His horizon had been broadened and it felt wonderful!
The molten metals were enough for the original sextant but he wanted to do more.
He scraped his original schematic right there and let his mind work purely from instinct. He summoned an ore only he had.
It shimmered with golden power and had a deep azure color. It was a Celestial ore!
He had no name for it and unlike the Blue Fire Death Silver, nothing came to him. Yet, it was useful as it was the most compatible when he experimented with harmonic Qi.
The Celestial Ore was one of a handful he nurtured in his Seeds but aside from Celestials, he was the only one that could use them.
He could also only nurture 3 of them but hopefully more varieties had been born in the 1st layer as it had Celestial Qi far longer than anywhere else in the Celestial Fields.
He used his own power to manipulate the metal as no amount of heat could melt it. Just like the Celestials, their materials only responded to direct manipulation.
It was why he was the only one that could use them as the concept seemed to elude others for some reason.
He then poured the now molten material into his smelting pot. Once in the same state, it would act as it should.
The easy part was over, now he had to actually preserve the sextant's functions as he repaired it.
It was daunting but he found himself smiling. His emerald eyes sparkled at the challenge!
It would be his greatest work!
He first immersed his aura in the sextant. He had done a surface level analysis but now he looked at every nook and cranny without any stone unturned. He learned a bit more about the materials but he was shocked as the interior was more than familiar!
It was a Forged item inside!
Forging and formations working in harmony?! He had tried it and had some success but the sextant was a work of art! He felt inspired!
His fingers flared with emerald light as sigils began to be engraved into the very air around him. His mind was flooded with ideas!
If any of his enemies were to view him at that moment, they would run as far as they could. Lind was a powerful cultivator in his own right and rightly had laurels of battle at his feet but he was never more terrifying than when he was creating.
Nothing was impossible in his eyes!
Still, he was looking for a key feature and finally found it. An area where imprints could be made! It was not just Forging and formations but an actual feature built into the ore with a crystal heart!
It was not an elemental crystal at all but something he had never encountered. Still, as a material he grasped its features!
It allowed an imprint of blood, soul, and cultivation. It was a fascinating material but the formations had to take it farther.
To be able to locate familial connections was where the formations took the crystal farther. The principles were fascinating to him!
Lind lost himself as his arms moved of their own volition. The sextant was placed in the hearth and became red hot. It retained its shape but powerful elemental power was exerted that left the witch in shock.
The slender arms to the lens eyes retained their shape. The remnant intent in the formations also resisted but he was no longer daunted.
"Let me remake you. You can be more." The words left him unbidden and it was like 2 fellow craftsmen met at that moment. He could tell nothing about them but the feeling of acknowledgement was there.
He also felt something more.
He had to push past simple imbuing of his intent and fusing of his professions. He felt his mind throb with pain but joy as well. He was so close to something.
The witch saw it but did not understand when suddenly the world changed. She felt the spirits get excited as pressure unlike anything she had felt before descended.
It was not just her.
Across the Celestial Fields, all the craftsmen, alchemists, and all walks of professions felt a stir in their souls.
The lower realms did not understand but the Sovereign Tiers were all in shock. Divine power! They felt divine power falling into their world!
The very sky rippled with power as golden threads traced through the air. It was not Qi but a manifestation of a very particular phenomenon.
No one could trace where it was going but the Sovereign Tiers knew it was not in the Sovereign Lands.
Lind was ignorant of it all as he felt feverish.
His body was soaked in sweat as the sextant began to give its secrets to him! He did not question it as he finally poured the molten alloy over it. The glass and crystal lenses were set aside as he easily finished them.
They were never more than a resonance node and even he could make those at the peak of Law Grade.
Yet, he felt they were insufficient at that moment. He smiled as his harmony flowed into each glass lens. He did not need to replicate but make it his own creation!
He felt his mind expand but his dantian also felt strained. His elemental nodes barely fluctuated but he felt their power flow far more smoothly than ever before.
He was using demonic, natural, and Celestial Qi all at once with ease!
He never noticed the golden traces flowing into his body or that his cultivation was rising during the Forging. He rose to the peak of the low Sovereign Tier and smoothly stepped into the mid Sovereign Tier.
His reservoir of Qi was massive now but his Laws were pushed aside as a far more powerful factor took their place.
Dao, the Dao of Forging, was flowing into Lind without his knowledge. He felt more alive than at any time previous in his life!
Unlike enlightenment where a cultivator accelerated their understanding, he was directly bathing in the Dao itself and a very difficult one as well!
His hands became a blur as the sextant finally succumbed to his efforts to merge with his materials. The entire artifact was drowned in molten metal but rather than dissolve, it changed.
The inscriptions vanished as the last obstacle and he finally could Forge what he intended. His fingers flew like the wind as sigil after sigil enjoined with his intent. The precious crystal at the core of it was left untouched but its properties seemed to leap into his mind!
The artifact in his mind took shape and the 6 arms grew slightly larger as the heart of the mechanism became hollow. A slot for a 7th lens formed as if it should always be there.
The slender arms became silver with a cobalt glow to them. The gears at the heart of the device grew larger as well. He felt it was right to fuse the lenses at that moment.
When the harmonic lens settled into place, the world shifted. Beams of light descended and his sigils changed before his eyes! He saw them become far more complex and complement his Forging far better than ever before!
He was on the cusp of understanding when his mind nearly split in two! Reality snapped back to normal around him and his dantian was bone dry. His Laws were spent and he had nothing left to give but a new artifact lay on his casting table.
It glowed with power and the lenses looked clear as he collapsed onto the ground. He had done it! He was certain he had fixed and improved it!
He fell into darkness with a smile on his face.
