It had been only a century since Fey and Lind ascended. The unique event of a double ascension tribulation to the Sovereign Tier affirmed the dangers as well as the awe of the 2 succeeding.
Fey had been harassed until it was clear she was not like most new Sovereign Tiers. She seemed to have a firm grasp of her new power and could fight above her level to high Sovereign Tier.
The Frey Clan had risen even more due to the fact 2 Sovereign Tiers were now tied to them. While Fey was well known to the halls of power in all layers, Lind had strangely gone silent.
Some were desperately trying to find him but no clue seemed to exist.
Yet, that interest suddenly dimmed when the Frey Clan announced a schedule for Ascensions for their members. It was actually normal to announce that event so people knew what to expect but the number was the issue.
The Frey Clan claimed 10 members were ascending! How was that possible?!
It was some months before the first one began and people came to observe as a demoness with dark hair and very pale lavender skin called down a tribulation that terrified all.
Demons felt the need to bow in reverence but other races felt like all their power was suppressed.
The tribulation was fairly normal until the Law section. While it was clear the demoness had mastered many Laws, the final tribulation was all too familiar.
"A 6 elemental demon!" A voice called from the crowd as lightning bolts darker than any shadow struck down with power that made the air ripple. The never ending storm of the Icy Path actually calmed down!
All were shocked as it was the second 6 elemental to become a Sovereign Tier. It also made the third for the Frey Clan with 9 more to go!
After that demoness ascended, the other 9 were also 6 elementals from demons to humans! The pattern did not stop there!
All the 6 elementals part of the Frey Clan and the branches down through the rest of the Celestial Fields showed a dramatic improvement not only in prowess, but in advancement!
No treasures were noted nor were there any signs of new arrays or other external aids that would be easily detected.
The only conclusion after another century and another batch of Sovereign Tiers came around!
It was clear something had changed that allowed individuals to grasp something essential to 6 elementals specifically!
The final piece was when the dragon clans suddenly had a burst of improvements but they were the only clans directly tied to the 2 known emerald dragons!
Lind Frey! He had gone missing in the 4th layer but he had somehow reached out without anyone knowing and passed down his revelations or improvements as he had always done!
Yet, the Frey Clan had restricted the information unlike in the past. It did not take even the dullest fool to understand why.
The Sigma Empire.
While they had been brought low by both Fey and Lind, now they were being treated as a rival and various powers were paying the price because of it. All realized they had become expectant whenever Lind Frey advanced!
His revelations always brought improvements to the relevant step he was on as well as those behind!
While the lower layers wondered if certain allies would also gain that knowledge, it was overshadowed by a declaration of war!
The Sigma Empire chose to go the most extreme route but while previously it would have been the height of foolishness, now it was not impossible to get allies of their own.
It was impossible to turn on the Frey Clan previously without a lot of effort due to their open sharing of knowledge. It was a keystone of their existence and even the greatest detractors had no argument for it.
How could you get angry or threaten the font of good fortune?
Now, however, the situation had changed. While many would not go against the Frey Clan, few would openly ally with them without the offer of the new knowledge.
Going against them in the hopes of getting the information for themselves, on the other hand, could inspire many to join with others. The Sigma Empire was not as strong as the Frey Clan but with others helping them, it quickly became clear a war could actually happen.
Forces were gathering and agreements about how to divy up the fallen Clan were already being put in place when it happened.
The Sigma Empire still held the island with the Reincarnation Inheritance and it was their main base. They had had to step back from their harsh tactics regarding the Inheritance but otherwise, they continued to dominate the land.
They had peak grade 7 and high Law Grade arrays protecting them or warning of invasion, so it was a shock when they were destroyed without notice!
Those spying on the Sigma Empire were equally caught off guard. None knew what was going on until a pair of demons were spotted ripping apart the forces of the Empire.
They had perfectly curled horns, wings nearly the size of most avians but leathery in appearance. Cloven hooves and spiked tails made it clear they were not corrupted demons but the fearsome Akashic Bloodline Physique!
Only 2 known demons had perfected that physique and the man and woman were exactly them.
Kal and Evie were like implacable forces of nature. Cultivators tried to strike back but it was like their Qi was just dispersed by an invisible wall!
Everyone assumed they were either a distraction or the tip of the spear but no other beings were found. Worse, the demons that came to join the Sigma Empire could not go against the apexes of their race!
Yet, neither gave an order to a single demon.
Evie's gleeful smile made her all the more eerie but the deadpan face of Kal left all terrified forever. All knew the 2 opposite looking faces would haunt them all their days.
Many demons knew at that moment their cultivation journey had come to an end. Even if they were unharmed, the heart demon that took root that day would forever impede them.
"They are only 2! Attack!" A general with a fiery orange harmonic Qi roared as he unleashed a Storm Art. Thunder and lightning boomed and flashed so much it blinded his own allies but when the Art cleared, he was dead and the demonic pair did not have a scratch.
A thought then wormed its way into the survivors.
How could a demon, any demon, have defenses that resisted Law Grade arrays of natural Qi? A life saving artifact or powerful robes was possible but had clear signs, yet none of that showed on them.
As if reading their minds, Evie began to laugh.
"That brat gave me a great gift. I owe him for this! His daughter too, the least I can do is clean up the scum." She did nothing to hide her words and Kal sighed but did not add to it.
It was the final clue and experts quickly used artifacts or Talents to examine their foes in new ways.
Towering spikes of Qi blinded anyone with Soul Eyes while Soul Touch felt a burn that nearly destroyed the Talents in people. Artifacts overloaded and the truth was clear.
Lind Frey was not being complacent or ignorant of what his Clan had done. He was supporting them!
Worse, he had sent gifts to his friends and followers that made 2 demons an entire army all on their own!
For the first time, Kal summoned a massive war hammer. It glinted entirely of dark metal but it lit up with emerald Qi!
The blade was silver in color but changed to bright orange inside the emerald light. The contrast made all shiver as they felt something terrifying.
How could that be allowed?! Sovereign Tier power was restricted but there was nary a ripple from the Heavens!
It was only at that point that the Radiant Tier Immortals realized how shallow they had grasped their realm. Despite the pressure, it was not the Sovereign Tier they were feeling, only their own power!
It was distinct and perhaps at the very limit but combined with a special physique like the 2 demons, such weapons were terrifying.
"Per Sovereign Frey, you broke the covenant of 6 elementals to help each other rise. You chose to abuse the gift he freely gave and now he must rescind his policy of openly sharing going forward. Also–" Kal began to fly up and a disc appeared in his hand. It had sigils engraved on the sides that began to spin until a projection appeared.
All recognized the massive sinuous dragon but were stunned at the next moment.

They all heard the words but the sky changed instantly. Emerald clouds gathered and while all the cultivators felt suppressed, the 6 elementals felt dread.
The fortress at the heart of the island was suddenly slammed with a massive beam from the clouds followed but thunder that shattered glass in all directions regardless of grade.
Ears bled and many felt like they suffered Qi deviation!
The only exceptions were a few that were spies for ally powers! How?!
A ring or bracelet glowed with emerald Qi and all realized their leaders had been forewarned!
Relief and terror flowed in them as they realized it was a planned attack! Lind Frey had instigated everything in the hope of the response he got!
The projection vanished and the pair of demons sneered at the intact fortress. The building was still there but all the 6 elementals inside were now crippled. The Sigma Empire had been truly crushed that time.
There was no hope of recovery and all understood the message.
