Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1371 - 1370 - Land?

Chapter 1371 - 1370 - Land?

Lind slammed into the forest floor. He expected the soil to either solidly stop him or be strewn everywhere as he plowed along the path of impact. He had not expected for it to part before him suddenly and send him tumbling even deeper!

Roots, and other normal features beneath the surface seemed fluid.

Lind wondered if he had actually landed on a beast but he clearly saw a Heaven Realm Crimson Mole burrow right by his face. He could have sworn it looked amused but he had no time to ponder as he kept falling!

He tried to fly but it was like lead weights had been attached to his entire body! He was completely out of control and nothing was slowing him down!

He saw vast biomes and tunnel networks that easily had to be billions of years old or more but nothing stopped him!

He was literally falling through the world!

Light blinded him as wind whistled in his ears but the pull downward violently vanished. He arched back towards a rocky surface and expected a repeat but instead he was harshly smashed face first into solid rock.

The taste of blood entered his mouth as his bones cracked! Why was he so fragile?!

As a Radiant Tier, it took considerable force and effort to hurt him, but he fell flat on a surface and it was like he was a mortal!

"I told you it was an ascender! He must be a rogue!" A voice reached him but Lind was busy realizing gravity was so bloody heavy! His hair had never really been in his awareness before as weight but now it felt like a clasp pressing into his back and skull!

He could almost feel his blood straining his veins as well. Why was everything so bloody heavy?!

"HA! HA! HA! Look at him struggle? See if he has anything good on him." The voice sounded young but the edge of malice was not missed. Lind focused and unleashed his full aura.

The instant he did so, the soil beneath him shifted and screams were heard.

"STOP! STOP DOING THAT NOW OR YOU WILL DESTROY OUR VILLAGE!" A new voice was panicking but Lind did not stop.

[Release me now or I will not stop.] His voice was too difficult to summon but his mind worked perfectly fine from what he could tell. He was not going to be pushed around after becoming a Sovereign Tier.

The rumbling suddenly stopped and the feeling of other presences all scattered around him until a new one arrived. Lind just barely made out that it was a Sovereign Tier when gravity vanished!

He was flung into the air only to stop mid tumble as he saw what could only be called a dryad!

A tall and slim woman with leaves and bark as robes and her skin looked at him with anger.

[Cease anger. Calm and focus. Control your world to move.] The broken sentence barely got through but Lind then understood he was focused on the wrong enemy.

He looked down and felt it at last. Powerful intent that enforced its rules and Laws on anyone nearby.

He realized he was looking up as well and why the mole had been amused.

He was a child in a man's body to its senses!

Lind's harmony suddenly lit up like a sun. The land writhed as he felt resistance but he did not stop until normal gravity and sensation filled his body. He sighed as he adjusted the flow of Qi and created a bubble around himself.

"That is not land, is it?" He looked at the dryad but she was staring at him in shock. Her limbs trembled as vines seemed to lose cohesion for a moment until she snapped back into focus herself.

"Y–you are a Divine Progenitor?!" He was surprised a non-dragon could identify him but plants were not as well known to him in their abilities when they transformed. He had only met the single spirit in the Inheritance and her power was on an entirely different level.

"I am. Who was here before?" The dryad's pale eyes seemed to go far wider than any human could. He was not sure they were eyes in the traditional sense as there did not seem to be any liquid around the orbs.

"There are several villages here in the Under Lands. They are descendents of rogues or exiled cultivators. Ascenders often come here if their welcome is not prepared." Irony. Reality ran on irony.

Lind had wanted to avoid the other Sovereign Tiers from interfering with him until he was ready but it seemed that came with an unexpected trade off. He looked down at the soil beneath his feet.

It looked like dirt but it was the wrong color. In fact, its color seemed to shift around him but not the dryad. The question must have been clear on his face.

"The 4th layer is not what you imagined, is it? It is unknown what was here originally but the first Sovereign Tiers absolutely created the original lands until they came into conflict and the nature of being a Sovereign Tier became apparent." She held out her thin hand and he felt a shift in the air.

She was a low Sovereign Tier the same as him. The land, however, had a drastic change as he saw it shift from soil to a tree!

It did not grow, but became a new tree right there. He also saw the strain it put on her.

Once her aura softened, the tree actually fell apart into soil that drifted mostly away on the wind. It had only been about 3 meters tall so it did not take long.

"So, I have to command the world around me to comply with my expectations?" She nodded at his question.

"There is much to learn, Divine Progenitor. I am happy to answer simple questions but first, you will likely be brought to account for your reckless action." Lind narrowed his eyes and glanced at the horizon as he felt a handful of other low Sovereign Tiers heading their way.

The dryad seemed to become wilted at the same time.

A group of 3 humans and a demon appeared. Despite their powerful cultivation realm, their clothes had seen better days. Lind's own robes had been destroyed before he ascended but he had quickly put on a spare set.

It felt paper thin to him now compared to before, yet it was better than being stark naked.

The humans were all men but the demon was female. Of the 4, she felt the most powerful. Her bloodlust was clear but they all glanced in disdain at the dryad.

"Weeds should know their place. We will deal with–" A bald man with faint scars on his face was slammed into the surface but no one had moved. Lind also was surprised but the others did not seem to be.

"Eldridge, the dryad is a manifestation of the plant world. Do not insult her like that if you do not want to keep being embarrassed." A man with a neat goatee sneered as his rail thin frame belied the power Lind felt from it.

A body cultivator or perhaps a weapons master of some kind was likely. Sword or more likely rapier given his movements.

The currently prone Eldridge looked enraged but Lind finally saw the thin vines holding him down.

"Enough, we are not here for her, but for him!" The demoness was missing an eye which was odd but he doubted the eyepatch was as simple as it looked. The dark leather covering the left eye felt like a powerful artifact but her aura blocked his Eyes and Touch from even trying to examine it.

The last human with long blond hair in knots and snarls nodded. They all had dirt and clear signs of hunger which Immortals should not have. It was only then that Lind felt the Qi was quite thin around him.

He had only glanced away when he heard the clang followed by a gentle tick on his skin. He looked down to find a shocked goatee human holding a primitive rapier. It barely qualified as a grade 7 artifact.

It was also now cracked severely where it had struck his ribs. His robes were cut open but not even a mark was on his skin.

A stronger thud came to the back of his skull but that was all as the blonde human broke a war hammer on Lind's skull. The 2 disarmed humans stumbled back quickly but Lind was more curious about the weapons.

He picked them up and frowned. They were old and not well cared for.

"What is he?! He is not human!" Eldridge finally stood up and looked afraid at him but Lind noticed the demoness was not impressed. A crack was the only warning but a whip that actually felt dangerous appeared in her hands.

He was unable to keep up with their speed but he did not know why. Their moves were not that impressive.

[Kneel.] He spoke a single word and all 4 dropped to their knees. The dryad was the only exception from his command. He noticed his Authority was barely ruffled.

New shock spread on the dryad's face once more as she willingly took a knee.

"True Lord!" While none of them fell under his dominion, his Authority could be used easily for the current circumstances.

"Someone start speaking quickly and I will decide if you stand ever again." His words were firm but the 5 beings felt the pressure behind his tone.

While silence reigned he collected the now discarded whip and actually nodded in approval.

It was a low Law Grade weapon and in decent shape. It was badly in need of repairs like the others but had clearly been cared for.

He commanded the soil around him to create 2 chairs and invited the dryad to sit as he prepared tea. He was clearly in need of the basics and quickly or he would make more mistakes or get in serious trouble in the future.
