Chapter 1370 - 1369 - Emerald Roost

Silence reigned.

Tribulations were always dramatic affairs, even if they were contained by an ascension platform, many could still feel their power from very far away.

It had been a very long time since an ascension tribulation had been allowed to run wild and none could summon words to describe what they had seen. It was months of seeing a lone man battle the Heavens to rise to the next tier of Immortality.

Another person has also been ascending at the same time. That had never happened in recorded history. The Icy Path had no damage, thankfully but compared to what happened with Lind Frey, the Immortals looking on at what had been a desolate set of peaks, were left in awe.

A shimmering dome had covered the area directly after Lind Frey ascended and none could so much as make it ripple or pierce it with their auras.

The Immortals were about to ask their respective powers to bring powerful weapons or artifacts when a roar echoed across the skies.

A massive sinuous dragon shot across the blue sky and all colors were reflected by her scales.

The wives of Lind Frey had come!

Ethry felt her blood thunder in her veins as her crystal core seemed to finally make progress to the peak of the Radiant Tier. Her shimmering eyes looked on in excitement as Kora, Chu, Shoti, and the others were all with her for the first time in many millennia.

Some powers were quick to note both Lysanna and Annabelle with the group but Ethry did not care.

She could feel her heart resonate with the dome in front of her.

[It calls me. Any of you as well?] Chu was quick to nod but only Kora was the other to respond. The rest shook their heads.

Space suddenly tore open and Ilyria appeared! She looked at them in surprise but with more warmth than expected.

[I felt a call in my soul. I heard my Mother's voice for the first time since–] Her face soured but they all knew. Lind had made it possible for the black shelled tortoise mother and daughter to meet before the elder died.

No matter how much hurt had come recently, that facet would never be tarnished. Unsurprisingly, Tal showed up looking exhausted as she was the weakest of them currently.

She had left the Clan entirely but smiled seeing them. The dome finally reacted as a final member appeared.

Jur actually appeared from a shadow portal. Her power had drastically improved after raising her children with Bori. The women all realized the beasts directly tied to Lind were called.

A completely worn out Lina slowly floated over. Her state made Qing concerned as she quickly assessed the poor fox girl.

[Lind is a Sovereign Tier. Something went wrong with his tribulation and it resulted in that.] She pointed at the dome. Ethry already knew the truth yet she felt a pull.

A desire to enter the dome was too strong and Chu reflected the same desire in her black and emerald eyes.

The 2 dragon women vanished. When the surrounding men and women thought they would slam into the dome, the 2 figures smoothly entered!

Ethry knew the others would follow but she froze once her senses spread out around them. Many of the peaks were shattered or just piles of rubble still visible in the clouds.

The heat had risen dramatically as a volcano was now at the heart of the range. Chu was a stunned as her but the other bestial women joined them and they began to explore.

The residue of Lind's tribulations was everywhere and the power of it left even his greatest detractors in awe.

"He survived this?" Kora was just floored but none could refute her disbelief. All of them felt danger just feeling the echo of the tribulation. What would have felt like to face it?

Ethry flew through the remaining peaks until she felt it again. A pull.

She flew towards the volcano and felt something stunning. Space was folded! It was not a formation or weaving but a natural phenomenon!

[There is an area of folded space here.] The women regrouped around her and examined the area around the volcano until Chu called out.

Her emerald features were glowing in response to something. Ethry focused all her elements around them until she found a strange sensation just below the lip of the caldera.

She touched it with her aura and space rippled open to reveal another volcano but with emerald striations along the slope.

Chu and she instantly felt their instincts scream at them in anticipation. Ethry had felt it before too!

The women flew in and saw the folded space was only around the volcano and hid the emerald striations from the outside. It was almost a special realm but was overlaid onto the layout outside.

The closer they got, the more they saw what was truly going on. The lava flowed calmly around each emerald section, as if carefully protecting them.

Inside each strip of emerald were eggs! Massive eggs that Ethry had once nurtured herself!

"Are those–?" Jur was curious but the others that had been their for Hei's birth looked at Ethry to be sure they were correct. Ethry inhaled the air and her eyes narrowed in stunned realization.

"I do not recognize those eggs!" She was a Divine Ryu and had accessed a lot of her race memory. She should be able to recognize any dragon egg she encountered but she did not recognize those!

Even her own son had been a Darkness Ryu despite his parents. They had always wondered if he would be able to change later but the chance never really came.

Each cultivator had to follow their own path.

They landed at the nearest one. While the heat was far too intense for many races, none of the women currently there were bothered much.

Of them all, Ilyria might have the most issue but her addition of draconic features let her resist it as much as the rest.

Stone drals had natural resistance to most earth element forms as well.

The eggs were easily as big as pre-teen humans. Their shells were not uniform in color with the emerald crystal around them. Some were red, others violet, and so forth.

Yet, Ethry saw finer colors in almost an inscription pattern. It was only when she placed her hand on the nearest shell that was almost white that she realized what she was feeling.

Harmonies! She was feeling harmonies!

Soul Realm dragons surrounded them and all were harmonies flowing through them.

"By the spirits, how is this possible?! No beasts have harmonies!" Ethry knew that better than most but she carefully examined what was happening. She was able to perceive a flow of Qi from the emerald crystal around them going into the eggs.

After a few days of studying they confirmed each egg housed a different harmony but it did not match anything like they had known among humans or demons. That was another thing they found on another emerald roost.

Each striation had different alignments but the demonic was less stunning than the single Celestial harmony they found!

That was unprecedented and Ethry finally noticed something with that area.

"Each crystal roost is nurturing a harmony that is nurturing a dragon. Each dragon will be born at the Soul Realm with a harmony and become the first of their kind after their Progenitor." Ethry wanted to contact Lind but no one knew where in the 4th layer he had gone.

It was a bit random when ascending without a platform. Further, the Sovereign Tiers would be looking for him now that he was one of them but the secret of the emerald roosts would have to be kept.

"Why were we all called here?" Jur spoke up as while his wives might be understandable with their spiritual connection, Tal and Jur were only adopted with Ilyria being a niece as well." Chu was swishing her tail in contemplation but Ethry understood.

"A dragon Progenitor must birth a race. While humans and demons form communities, beasts are joined by blood and spirit. Lind did not intend this, it was a result of him finally being ready to begin." Her words drew many curious looks but those that had distanced from Lind were even more interested as to why they were drawn in.

Ethry smirked at them as it was not a one way call.

"The only reason we are here is because we are part of his race as his family. Heaven and Earth acknowledge us so long as we accept it." The first sentence drew some ire from Tal and Jur but the last part gave them all pause.

They knew what had been done to them all but it had been made clear that Lind still made the choice. He still shouldered the consequences without blaming external influence alone.

"We are to be their mothers and elder siblings then?" Chu spoke with excitement at the prospect but Ethry shook her head at her.

"While you and I might be able to corral them, only 1 person will be acknowledged truly. Also, this process will not be fast. Based on what I am seeing, it will be thousands of years before one of these eggs hatch. I have no reference in the race memory as there has never been a beast race with harmonies." All nodded as their respective race memories were the same.

"What will we do then?" Kora was caressing a silver and gold egg gently with a smile. Ethry smiled at them before shrugging at them.

"I will move here. I will become the guardian of this place. We will need to see if others can cross the barrier besides us as well but it will be up to you. We will call this place the Emerald Roost officially." The women then mapped out the region and made plans.

A new race was to begin there and while some would greet it happily, many others would fear it. Lind Frey had created his new race of dragon and it was fearsome in its infancy!
