Chapter 1330 - 1329 - True Lords Battle

Chapter 1330 - 1329 - True Lords Battle

Lind sailed across the sky over the desolate mountain and the lands around it. He was hurt but not in any way he found detrimental.

He was surprised how weak his opponent was despite his speed. Why was his hit so weak?

The Divine Void Phoenix was far older than him and far more developed. How could such an experienced being be weaker than his defense?

Lind tried to analyze the attack and terror filled him as he saw his dantian was weakened! He felt the once firm shell had become briefly softer before being restored by his Qi and Laws.

The body was not the target! His eyes narrowed as the youth sneered at him as energy similar to the void covered his fists as they came at him.

Of course! The same thing that prevented his ability to escape or tear through space was the ability to manipulate the void! The phoenix was able to actually bypass his normal defenses and focus attacks are critical areas!

Lind used his speed to move away but the Divine Void Phoenix seemed able to stay on his position without even knowing where he was going. The rich battle experience of the youth was clear.

Worse, as a successful rebirth cycle was obvious with his bloodline, he could modify his body after each life as it were. It was something Feng lamented long ago to him. Her memory gaps and identical body were all she could do with her bloodline.

Divine was not added to a bloodline lightly and such mighty effects were impossible to ignore.

"You will become what I need to finally shed the final strand of mortality holding me to these cursed lands! I will ascend on the flame of the First Breath and all shall see my glorious ascension!" Madness was laced not only in the words but the feverish eyes.

How had Heaven and Earth not stripped him of his tile and seat? He had lost his due to Haro's intervention but it had been temporary only.

It made sense to him and even the ability to reclaim his title as well, but why was such madness allowed such unbridled power?

A wing suddenly appeared with a razor's edge coming at his throat. It was far stronger than the fist and faster than most could follow but Lind was not that inexperienced either in battle.

He had faced far worse monsters and they were always stronger than him.

Monsters were always his enemy.

Lind began summoning various weapons and his Battle Aura flared up. It was no longer a common tactic but he never stopped training. It was one of his slowest skills but it was always worthwhile.

The roc was surprised but the youth was dismissive.

"So weak you rely on tools?! You are but an ant!" The phoenix charged in recklessly but not mindlessly. Void aura flashed like beams of death but his Battle Aura deflected it with ease.

Shock finally appeared but it was replaced with rage.

"You dare defy me?!" Divine Void Phoenix acted as if being thwarted was a crime on par with murder but Lind did not care.

His spear, halberd, and other long weapons fanned out while his daggers, short swords, and other close range began to engrave on the air.

The mid range weapons were far too varied in comparison to those 2 extremes. The individual feathers were able to counteract his aura on the attack but neither of them could get at each other.

The sigils connected with traces to create very familiar beasts.

A phoenix, tiger, and tortoise appeared. The instant they aligned around Lind, his aura changed drastically.

They were not just any figures either. They were from those closest to him on his journey and even though he had strained his relationship with several of the living ones, the dead one had entrusted him from long ago with more than weaving, but her family.

The mountain cracked under the pressure and even the youth finally showed caution.

Lind sneered as that pause was all he needed as lines of energy connected to him.

[Return.] He gave a command with his authority but the youth seemed to do something to protect himself. It was useless as the command was not for him.

The phoenix changed into a glorious being of gold and flame. The tiger became a shimmering pillar of white. The tortoise became deep black and more solid than any object ever known.

"Divine Guardian Aegis." He spoke the name simply as a courtesy for the arbitrator.

His blood flowed like a storm as over ¾ of his Qi was drained instantly. His Laws flowed like a storm into all 3 constructs.

Lind's aura soared but he could feel his body straining to contain the power and his dantian was also creaking.

"Impossible! You can't have such power!" The youth screamed but Lind knew he missed the point of his weaving. The Divine Guardian Aegis was not to increase his power but to refine the quality of it.

In other words, his Qi, Laws, and Arts took the next step to the peak of the Immortal Realm!

He had stumbled across many Arts that invoked the Divine bloodlines with several varying results and he saw a common thread that made him wonder what would happen if all 4 were invoked.

The result had been a mountain reduced to dust and all Qi consumed like it was nothing.

The area had not recovered for years but Lind saw several consequences beyond that he found useful. If he included himself in it, he improved!

He finally lashed out with a simple punch. The land and mountain vanished as molten magma was exposed and the very fabric of reality cracked under the force of it.

The youth tried to stop it but he was finally sent flying with blood flying from his body. The limbs became boneless as they were shattered to putty. His organs had to be liquified as well.

Lind did not get out unscathed as his own body burse at the seams. Increased power did not equate to increased endurance. Still, his regenerative ability was fast enough to allow him to go after his target.

[Restore!] The Divine Void Phoenix's voice shook the air as his body was returned to its peak! Lind did not employ that tactic as he closed in but his instincts screamed at him as void flames blazed outward from the youth.

The fight was reduced to a physical battle at that point. Both of them realized their authority would not help them and further, Lind did not allow the bypass attacks to get near him.

Time became a variable. Sometimes it seemed like it flew like the wind and at others it was at a standstill. The previously deserted lands were now completely reshaped by their battle.

Lind saw his scales were cracked and not healing anymore. He had underestimated his foe!

"You will die at my hand! My ascension to divinity is at hand!" Lind saw the madness was rising. He raged at such a being on the same level as him.

"We are True Lords! We serve our people! What have you done for them when the Fiends nearly destroyed us all? What did you do as the 3rd layer was overrun with soulless? What are you good for?!" Lind vented at the youth.

His inaction and cowardice enraged him but the feverish eyes looked amused at him.

"All that matters is my survival. I will create a new race to replace all that fell. They were too weak to survive, obviously." The words were spoken as if it was an absolute truth.

Lind's reptilian eyes changed at those words. The world shifted in ways it had not before and even the roc arbitrator felt it. Lind ceased his weavings and dispersed all his conjurings.

The ground began to shake and the sky was torn open as a golden sky was revealed. Both roc and phoenix were stunned but Lind did not notice.

Only one thought was on his mind.

[PEOPLE ARE NOT THINGS! KNEEL!] His words shook the world and it was not just the battleground but the entirety of the 2nd layer that felt his command.

People in all locations fell to their knees and the sky rumbled in approval. Heaven and Earth seemed happy as Lind floated in midair.

The phoenix felt enraged but for some reason he could not resist the command. He tried to attack

[Ascend!] The word shattered Lind's command. It broke the world free but unlike the awe and reverence from before, the 2nd layer felt disturbed. Something vile was freeing them!

"You will never make me do that again! You will be dead!" A massive blade of void power appeared and cut open the layer like an egg.

Lind did not try to defend himself but the Celestial Fields. The attack was that terrifying as his aura soared once more.

[Disperse!] His vitality finally reacted as it seemed he had crossed some line that Heaven and Earth could not let pass. The void blade, however, broke apart as he hoped and space stabilized.

Both were exhausted but still ready to fight. The battle between True Lords was far from over.
