Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1273 - 1272 - Icy Haven

Chapter 1273 - 1272 - Icy Haven

Lind checked the area for any other problematic beasts but it seemed the bear did not like others being in his territory. There were only a few other beasts but they were only in the Heaven Realm at the Moon Tier at most.

He returned to the cavern to find it had grown considerably. They made quick work of his orders.

Still, it was just a cave. It was a place to hide from the storms but would not serve for what was to come. Building a complex was also not feasible with the harsh conditions of the Icy Path.

Digging underground was not an option either due to the various ores and beasts that could be waiting for them. He had not met them but he could sense them. The beasts were either some kind of mole or some kind of drake.

The rumors were iffy either way and they avoided him so he leaned towards the worms.

They were not like the wurms of the desert that had faint dragon blood but the earth based species common to many worlds. In the Endless peaks, those beasts had become powerful but subterranean always.

They were also horrifyingly dangerous due to their abilities, not their power. They could make it such that a cavern could collapse before anyone knew of the danger.

Part of the reason he chose the Icy Path was that those beasts acted as a passive natural barrier. People wanting to attack them would be limited to above ground or near the surface.

"Lord Frey, the space has been altered as you requested." Din marched up and saluted smartly. The others all bowed as he was noticed. He waved them all to go back to resting and preparing materials.

The next step would be vital.

"Din, I am going to head to the Icy Plains to deal with the 2 villages. I want you to arrange materials here and here for when I get back." He pointed to his workshop area for weaving and Forging.

He would need to create several tools before they could progress to the next steps for their clan. Din bowed as Lind tore open space once more.

Unlike before, he knew exactly where he was going. He was no longer restricted by the resistance of the Icy Path.

He stepped from the cavern onto a snow covered slope. He looked around and felt the chill was deeper compared to the narrow path he had been on before. He also saw swirling mists over an empty expanse of ice.

A loud crack echoed just barely in range of his hearing. It did not mean it was far away as the mists altered the feeling of distance easily. Even his senses were not unaffected. His weavings could possibly clear it up but that was for the future.

He sighed as he slowly walked up the incline until a wall of jagged ice appeared in front of him. It was actually a village wall.

There was a hollow that glowed to his Eyes. It was a powerful set of formations but he ignored it as he walked past it. He walked until he came to the edge of the wall that met the higher elevation of the mountain peak.

He narrowed his eyes as he suddenly placed his palm in midair. The crisp wind suddenly shoved away as a tear appeared. It was not a special realm, it was something he had encountered and made on his own long ago.

He called them havens, but the one in front of him was home to a very different being.

Lind stepped inside and warmth washed over him. His body actually relished it before looking around.

The Stonelight Guild used them for personal spaces for their experts to create and negotiate without any chance of spying but he had made one tied to his soul before his body died.

That one had vanished entirely and had not returned when his body was rebuilt. He had not yet tried to remake it as he had several ideas but the current one put both his and the Stonelight Guild versions to shame.

While both he and the guild had made large versions of courtyards, the one in front of him was massive. It was also perfectly sealed despite the creator being inside.

Only authorized people could access it and even when Lind kept people at arm's length back then, this being had taught him a lot.

[So, you have survived. You also seem changed.] A voice boomed in his mind like always as Lind looked up at the gigantic roc looking down at him. The peak Radiant Tier roc had ice for wings.

It was also mixed with a lot of white feathers that showed its age.

"I had a good, swift kick to the head. Then my body died. I should really thank you for putting up with me." Lind cupped his hands and bowed as he felt a smile in his mind.

[It is the prerogative of the young to make mistakes. You were not so lost for me to interfere. Of course, you neglected to mention one of your wives is of my Lady's lineage.] Lind snapped up his head in shock as laughter filled his mind.

The massive roc shifted to reveal the reality of the isolated dimension. It was the rest of the peak from the Icy Path. Rather than create a separate place all its own, the roc had been able to carve out a piece of the Icy Path itself while leaving it seemingly intact from the outside.

In other words, no one knew it was there!

The only exception would be the 2 villages nearby. They existed solely due to the roc in front of him. The reason Lind knew about the senior roc at all was due to his actions when he lived there before.

He killed the soulless that had fallen into the icy storms near the villages. The creatures had avoided the worst of the winds so it had been a true threat.

In gratitude, the roc revealed itself to him. Lind had not much say but then he had been enlightened on some of his Laws he struggled with at the time related to space and dimensions.

As that could directly aid his power, he had happily learned!

"I have paid a terrible price for my mistake, senior, but she is still speaking with me." The dark eyes pierced him but he hid nothing. The roc nodded at something before settling on the slope.

Lind noticed the vitality of the roc had decreased a lot from the last time he had seen him.

"I have come because I have decided to build a branch of my clan near my main cavern and use the Icy Plains as a training ground." The Silver Fang Bears may be lords of the slopes and worms deep under the stone, but the Icy Plains had their own challenges.

The roc looked at him before nodding tiredly.

[There is little point in stopping you or limiting you. I am not for much longer in this world as you can tell.] Lind narrowed his eyes before looking sad.

There was nothing wrong with the roc, it was just incredibly old. Millions of years old and it had reached the end. Lind was now curious about it but felt he would not get answers.

"I will take care of the villagers." The roc smirked in his mind again.

[They do not need your charity. They will live or die on their own merits. What they decide to do is up to them, not me.] The roc was their ancestor but he had been very hands off. His bloodline was faintly in all the humans he had met during his time in the Icy Path.

"Of course, but I meant if someone came for them. The Endless Peaks have become up for grabs. While some are negotiating peacefully, there will always be those that do not care." An approving nod came from the roc.

[I am not so weak to need help but it reassures me you have changed so much. I have some centuries left in me but my Icy Haven, as you called it, will die with me. It was made by me, for me. Your version had the same problem.] The roc referred to the Emerald Haven.

It had been tied to his soul, at least he thought so, so when he died the dimension would go with him. Yet, his soul had survived and the Emerald Haven was still gone. Clearly it was not quite tied to his soul.

"I will be sad to see you gone. For what you taught me, I never thanked you." Lind's fingers lit up as weavings flew around them. The feeling of Qi and Laws shifted. The roc was shocked as the cry of his own kind filled the air.

A massive golden roc swooped over the wide blue sky and the icy roc called out in joy. Lind felt joy surge in his mind.

He could not completely recreate what he saw in Lord Skinwalker's Inheritance but his memories could be projected with his weavings.

The massive golden roc also evoked warm memories from him. He had been so young back then but she had never dismissed him. He missed being in that Inheritance sometimes.

[You are a terrifying man. Still, thank you. My blessing is given.] Lind bowed and left. The roc was not one to entertain guests for long. Still, it felt like they had become friends at that moment.

Lind left the Icy Haven to finally begin his plans. The Frey Clan would rise in the 3rd layer starting today!
