Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1219 - 1218 - Held Up

Chapter 1219 - 1218 - Held Up

Tessa stumbled out of the stairwell from the bridge as she acutely felt space shift at the last moment. Their group had been walked up a spiral set of stairs to some place called the Knife Edge Bazaar. It was the key central hub of trade and information according to Senior Radine.

She was the demon commander where they arrived and answered many of their questions. Concerningly, Lind's personality description seemed very wrong. Had he been possessed?

It was possible after facing a tribulation and facing those monsters. Yet, Annabelle had confirmed there were no signs of it. He recognized her and chose to turn away for some reason.

Another person came out behind her. It was her fellow 6 elemental. The 2 year journey had revealed how devastating their harmonies were to the soulless creatures. It was also confirmation that following a recent Radiant Tier up into the 3rd layer with Radiant 6 elementals was the correct approach.

Supposedly, there was a communication array here that they could use to reach the Frey Clan. She knew the instant it was confirmed, the slew of peak Crystal Tier 6 elementals would commence their breakthroughs.

The maximum was not known, but the 4 of them seemed sufficient with just 2 6 elementals. To be safe, however, 3 would be recommended. Not all harmonies were driven by combat.

Her own virulent green flames danced in her eyes as she saw Lady Mira emerge. She was the weakest as she had just become a Radiant Tier whereas the 3 demons had consolidated their gains and waited.

Kal was not originally supposed to come but had been prepared if needed. He chose to come even though things had been well in hand.

Speaking of, her brother stepped through but he was now just a very handsome demon. His Akashic features were retracted now that he had better control of his physique at the Radiant Tier.

He had been right, the higher quality Qi sped up all their foundation improvements. Compared to 2 years ago, their power was incomparable. If he unleashed his full power, every demon in the layer might come calling!

"Strange artifact. The fact he is not here studying it alone tells me something is deeply wrong." Lady Mira spoke but Tessa frowned. If not for the soulless being heavily wiped out over a thousand years ago, she would disagree but now it was weird that he was not at the Bazaar trying to figure out the secrets of the place.

It could be useful to make more bases or understand how the bridges were completely hidden from beasts and Immortals with ease.

So why wasn't one of the most prolific knowledge hunters she knew of not there at all?

"Please keep mov–" A demon approached but froze as he glanced behind him. The tunnel suddenly had a pressure appear as a demoness blurred to a halt in front of the 4 of them.

She was lithe with bright cobalt eyes and fine robes. The demon knelt down but she ignored him.

"You finally arrived! Come with–" She was about to grab Mira by the arm and Tessa could not even stop her before a familiar aura surged behind her. Her own bloodline demanded obedience!

The demoness seemed to shimmer strangely before them before her shape stabilized. A disguise!

She looked sharply as a transformed Kal stepped in front of Lady Mira.

"Simple courtesy is to introduce yourself and your business Senior. Please do so." She looked sharply at her brother. He was normally more domineering but held back for this demoness?

She saw no signs of attraction from him nor her which finally warned her how dangerous she was. She could resist the Akashic Physique!

She licked her lips suddenly but her brother did not flinch.

"The Akashic Bloodline Physique. A pure one and in total control as well. I think you should be more careful about who you appear–" Her brother suddenly increased in size and hooves replaced his feet. His horns curled twice nearly as his wings became claw tipped.

His tail gained a barb as he pushed his body to the limit. The lithe woman in front of them entirely vanished as another demoness appeared. That one was missing an arm and had one eye replaced by a scar. Her ochre eye was not natural either. It was an artifact.

Her body might have once been curvy but the injuries left her disproportioned.

A deep frown was on her scarred face but she also knelt down as Kal looked at her.

"Very rude yourself, Junior." Kal was sweating and Tessa realized they had to act.

"Kexin." Her friend nodded and both summoned rather unique artifacts. They blazed with emerald light as chains appeared. Anyone that saw them would shiver as they bound not the body but the soul.

They were normally for Fiends but could work on anyone and only 1 person could make them.

The instant the chains covered her an aura snapped and Kal nearly collapsed as he undid his aura. He looked exhausted.

"She is like me but the bloodline has been damaged. She is like me." He repeated it and all 3 women looked in shock at the chained demoness.

"You were not consumed like me. Take a good look, this is how those of us that survived turned out. Injuries we can never heal and the lingering power everyone wants." She glanced at the formerly kneeling demon who was now looking at her in disgust.

Kal sharpened his gaze.

[Forget and sleep.] A command was sent out and the demon could only obey. Unlike a True Lord, Kal had only his stamina and energy as a price to pay. For a Shard Tier, it was as easy as breathing.

"Senior, you have no one to blame but your impertinent actions. If you had simply asked to see us or explained yourself calmly, none of this would have happened." Tessa finally spoke up and the others nodded.

A cackling laughter came from her.

"You do not live long if you rely on the politeness of others. Do you think these chains will hold me for–" The chains flared suddenly and she screamed in pain.

"Those were meant to hold Fiends so normal people really can't break them. Unless you want to be destroyed, do not try that again." Kexin was angry but kept an eye out as they knew more people were coming.

Kal picked up their prisoner and they left the cave.

The city in the distance called them but they moved to the side while Tessa set up some barriers. They were only grade 7 but Annabelle made them so they were as good as Law Grade.

Once they were up and running, only Annabelle or Lind could find them.

Chairs and a table were brought out as they brewed some tea. Confusion was on their prisoner's face but they ignored her.

"So, Kal, what was that? She resisted you but then you overpowered her?" Tessa was concerned as he looked more exhausted than normal but he nodded.

"She has a different gift from me. Or maybe she just acquired one when the bloodline was decimated in her." The illusion had been indistinguishable from reality even to their eyes. With Annabelle training them for thousands of years, that was not an easy thing to do!

"When your bloodline is stripped from you, it is like a tribulation. If you live, Heaven rewards you. Least the blasted spirits can do." The woman finally spoke up.

Tessa turned to her but knew they were not going to get more answers than that about the subject.

"Can you help her, Lady Mira?" Kexin suddenly asked a question that made the ochre eye narrow dangerously. Mira did not immediately reject the question as she walked over and began to examine their prisoner.

"Bah! Don't bother child! Better alchemists and healers already told me the truth. Having my bloodline extracted left me like this forever!" Mira did not flinch as the demoness made the chains flare once more.

A disc appeared in Mira's hands before a gentle wave of Qi washed over the bound demoness. The side facing Mira lit up with characters that made her frown.

"I don't understand all of this but the damage is as she says. It seems only 1 person could fix her." The last sentence brought a tense silence. It did not last long as the chains lit up like the sun.

"WHO?! WHO CAN DO THIS?!" Her raspy voice cracked and she began to cough. A pill was given to her and her body calmed.

"You already know who. It is why you are acting so desperate for information as I suspect he has said nothing about his skill or ability. My son." The ochre eye stared at Mira but Tessa was waiting to pull Mira back while Kal and Kexin were ready to attack.

"He–he–he–ha–ha–ha!" Weird laughter came from her as she fell back onto the rocks. "I knew it! I knew my instincts were right!"

They were surprised by her reaction but then she calmed down.

"You can let me go. I have a lot to tell you. Chiefly, how your son is going to die." Her words made Tessa nearly react but her brother beat her to it. He was about to slam the woman into the ground even more but Mira held up her hand.

"We will hear her out. We need all the information we need. What is your price?" The woman on the ground smiled at the question.

"Simple, save his damned life and mine!" The words brought clarity for them all. Self interest they could understand.
