Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1210 - 1209 - Celestial Armory

Chapter 1210 - 1209 - Celestial Armory

A week had passed before the first person awoke. They were groggy and disoriented for a day before finally being able to move on their own.

Lind ignored them as they began to try and wake others to no effect.

Healing souls was not the same as healing the body. Pills and elixirs could help but it was best to let it do so naturally if it was intact. Only if it was damaged badly should someone interfere.

Lind knew far more about injuries to the soul than most and he did not have enough resources to make Soul Elixirs anyway. He also had no time.

The first demon to grasp the changes to the tower was left wondering if they were still asleep. The once simple stone crenelations were now smoothed out and strange artifacts were mounted at fixed intervals.

A golden barrier also shimmered visibly around them but he could not feel any Qi at all!

Lind ignored all questions as he continued his work. He had to alter materials on a fundamental level and it took both time and massive amounts of concentration.

The stone walls were now a kind of alloy that conducted Celestial Qi. It allowed for the Qi to gather and to be used by the other artifacts he created. They were more refined versions of his prototype.

Dispersal Beam Celestial Artifact was the name he gave them. The walls were just advanced gathering arrays but Surge Wall was the name he gave to the part that created the barrier.

It was cycling the Qi so rather than a static barrier, it cycled and would focus power if wraiths attacked. He could not fully test it without them but he hoped it could hold off 4 at a time.

He was now creating weapons for the others to use but he was running into a shortage of resources.

"Emerald Immortal, what is going on?" An exhausted demon commander finally appeared but Lind could only ignore him as he was holding a floating sword with his Qi. The profound aura made the commander wait but that was all.

Sigils formed as the metal cooled until they fused as one. The sword glowed golden which made Lind smile. It made 100 of such weapons arranged neatly around him.

They were swords, glaives, and various weapons. All expertly made and profound but even the demon felt the hairs stand on the back of neck to just look at them.

He felt like they could kill him no matter what he used to defend himself.

"Here." Lind tossed a beautiful red jade stone. The commander sunk his senses into it and paled as he watched. He was seeing the actual memory of the attack and how Lind killed the wraiths.

"How lon–" Lind held up a hand as he sat down. He was drained completely but he had run out of resources to make more.

"It has been 2 weeks since the last attack. I can tell they are closer but not where they are. The winds seem able to restrain them a bit plus they may know the others died. I am not sure on that." The commander nodded but then noticed the curled up form of the Heaven Realm fox girl.

She had been perfectly fine before but now he felt like her aura had been refined by something. It was more profound as she slept.

"She is fine but I will be keeping an eye on her until she wakes. We have karma now." Lind was not happy to admit it but she was his responsibility after sharing some of his life force with her.

It was not like they were kin but she had helped him as well. Once she was safely awake, the karma would be settled.

The demon commander nodded as he deeply understood karma with Immortals was a serious issue.

"So, what is all this?" He looked at Lind expectantly. Lind smiled as the answer was not so easy to answer.

"Suffice to say this tower is now a fortress against the wraiths but it is limited. I have only been able to make 100 weapons to arm yourselves. The barrier and mounted weapons are automatic as much as I can make them." The 2 began to discuss the changes.

The more Lind spoke, the more shocked the demon commander became. In the space of 2 weeks, the Emerald Immortal had transformed the entire tower as if it was child's play! There were no records of him having such abilities!

"Ho–Wh–What?!" Lind felt faint amusement. It had been some time since he elicited such a reaction from someone.

"How and when do not matter. What matters is we can defend ourselves. These weapons not only hurt them but will protect their wielders. These things live off the life of others." The demon commander slowly nodded as it truly did not matter.

"Is there anything we can–" The demon was about to ask how they could help when both shivered. Lind knew what that was. The scream of a wraith!

Both men left the forge as Lind brought the weapons with him. The demon commander took a spear and instantly felt his mind clear.

Key figures were pointed out by him to Lind who gave them a weapon matching what they already held. Shortly, all 101 individuals were on the roof as the barrier shimmered in 5 locations!

Lind felt he was right. They clearly knew their fellow wraiths had died and had been gathering strength. Whether this was all of them or not, he had no way to know but he doubted it.

If these things had been left in the Whisper Peaks for epochs, there should be more, much more!

The barrier held longer than he had hoped but it collapsed shortly after they arrived. Before a breath was taken, the turrets swiveled in 5 different directions.

Coherent beams had already been building and slammed into each of the creatures. The shapes were revealed to all and made them shiver.

"Quickly, fly up and slay them!" Lind made all 100 jump but the demons felt the rage of nearly dying from before fill them. They leapt into the air like a wave of lavender death.

The weapons shimmered in anticipation as all slashed at the trapped creatures. He noted some were bleeding from their ears or eyes but that was all. Being so close as the wraiths screamed seemed to pierce the defense of the weapons.

The 5 wraiths shimmered briefly before the injuries allowed the beams to turn them into dust. He had a better chance to analyze it that time.

Celestial Qi manipulated reality directly and the wraiths were not exempt from that! It also explained the Nine-tails Fox could hurt them. The wraiths were pure spiritual creatures that consumed all life to progress.

He did not know the conditions to create them specifically as the fox had called them Shadow Wraiths, but he would hopefully learn more later.

The beams essentially broke apart the foundation of life. No matter what it was, to live as a cultivator it needed a foundation built on Qi. Whatever form that took the rules were the same.

Lind attacked cultivation itself. A physical being would be able to resist due to their many options but the wraiths had no physical bodies at all.

As such, while their will and intent could resist, give time, the beams would literally disperse the wraiths into nothing.

It took an immense amount of Qi so it was not practical but survival was hinging on that insane consumption. The tower actually felt like a river of Qi was flowing through it as the barrier weakly returned.

"Very good. The barrier will be at full power shortly. Let me see your weapons." The demons happily handed them over but Lind frowned. Most of them were fine or could be repaired but he saw signs of serious issues.

The weapons were barely used more than 3 or 5 swings yet they were worn out as if thousands of swings had been done. That was not good.

Even the best weapon would break after that kind of abuse! He had to refine his creations.

It also meant he needed resources. A lot of them.

"Commander, you asked me if I needed anything. I need materials, grade 7 and above, whatever we have. I have used up all this tower had." Those that knew the kind of resources that were stored in the tower were shocked but the results could not be denied.

The commander nodded before looking at the rest.

"You have seen the enemy we are facing and what it takes to kill them. Survey the rest of us and get all the materials Emerald Immortal needs. Our lives depend on it." Not a single voice of protest was heard.

Lind left them to it as he had to repair what he could without resources. A few of the weapons just needed a touch up.

He passed back into his impromptu forge when a voice made him freeze.

"Senior Lind Frey, thank you for saving me." Her voice was tiny but she was shivering as he looked down at her. One rule he had stuck to, even with Evie, was to withhold his name. His features were unique enough that an ascender would possibly out him but even in the 2nd layer, his name was not well known when he left.

That may have changed, yet that left the most obvious question.

"How do you know my name?" His voice was cold and left no room for mercy. Karma or not, he could not allow someone with his name to be out of his sight!
