Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1186 - 1185 - Preparations Completed

Chapter 1186 - 1185 - Preparations Completed

Lind had not been sure how accepting dragons would be of his plans but the possibility of fighting their enemies after the 2nd layer was freed, was something truly sought by all of them.

Battle was something any dragon could understand. The rather sparse and spartan city was now full of colors and a variety of natural elemental enclaves for various dragons to hone their strengths.

Months passed but they were hardly peaceful.

Any doubt of his enemy's location was removed as demonic and human forces arrived with familiar powers at their command. One of the disadvantages of his purification wards was the ability to use Fiend Qi once more.

The attacks started with attempts at sabotage but the main reason he called only dragons was to make a simple order.

Anyone not a dragon nor specifically invited by Lind, was an enemy.

He sent out that message repeatedly to his friends to stop them from coming as well. His companions were still on their own journeys but Chu definitely heard his call. He had no idea where she was but maybe she found a Ruin or Inheritance in the time they were apart.

So, small battles broke out but they were vicious. Several dragons were poisoned or nearly died due to the fact they did not take the invaders seriously.

Lind berated them as he had warned them. His harmony easily resolved the issues but he was stunned that Serat shared his power.

Amares could not purge Fiend Qi like them but he seemed able to sense it even better than Lind ever could.

Even inside a storage treasure was not enough to evade his senses!

For a World Realm, that was even more impressive as higher grade storage treasures should be beyond him yet they were like glass to him!

Those abilities made the 2 rise highly in respect to the other dragons. Even the rather scornful Immortal dragons looked at them with pride now.

Just being his kin gave nothing but having ability always did.

Organized armies began to show up but they were essentially coming to be slaughtered. Lind had already begun to see vast improvements in the dragon forces as they purged the tainted Qi from their bodies.

The terrifying power returned to them and they could not be happier.

The fact enemies happily delivered themselves was icing on the cake!

The battles were jokes as the humans and demons had come to rely too much on their advantage in the Corruption. After a million years, they had severely underestimated what would happen if the cultivators regained their full power!

Rubyfire Kingdom should have educated them but its floating status made it hard to infiltrate and investigate that quickly.

He did send a message to warn them of the return of Fiend Qi artifacts if they were deployed inside their purified dome.

He also sent detailed instructions with some artifacts charged with his harmony to be a good countermeasure in case it was needed. He was not sure as the Crimson Law Harmony might actively work against Fiend Qi as well.

He was crafting like mad on top of training the dragons for the war to come. It would be war, not battle like they were currently engaged in.

He knew his enemy was desperately trying to stop him but likely also distract him. Why they wanted him distracted was more worrying than the desire to attack.

The only reason to distract was to buy time but time for what? The Fiends could only emerge if they retracted the Corruption. If they did that, his revelations would bring the entire world down on them.

It would be suicide.

Could there be a final contingency that took time to set up? Again, that did not entirely make sense as if they wanted to do that, they had known for years he was coming. If it wiped out half the 2nd layer, it would not matter to the Fiends in the long run.

They would just start again.

So what could they be buying time for? He worried about it but could only find out in the future.

He was glad the dragons took to his lessons like fish to water. They took the combat lessons from his time in the Fiend War and he learned that while battling the Fiends was normal over a million years ago, there was no organized war effort like he had experienced in the Heaven Realm Lands.

It was much more normal for various powers to be rivals for resources, fight over grudges, and occasionally curtail any Fiend activity. Lind realized the bastards had been laying low in anticipation of their plans!

It was just like in the 1st layer where no one had any idea Fiends had been working with the powers in the central plains to make the Realm Refiner. Everything seemed normal on the surface while more serious issues were going on elsewhere!

It made him appreciate the true terror of the Fiends once more.

The greatest threat was not their desire to consume the living cultivators' souls but the length to which they could sacrifice the short term gains for long term victory. The Celestial Fields were saved on a knife edge over a million years ago by brave cultivators that died so there was a glimmer of hope.

Lind had to bow low to those predecessors. If not for them, none of his family would be alive. He was unsure where he would have been reborn but maybe even that would have not been possible too.

The clang of metal on metal filled the air as he had his upper body exposed to the heat of the furnace. Molds and prototypes were arrayed on the walls for others to look at but he was currently finishing a broadsword he planned to make into a powerful artifact.

Amares had a strong inclination to sword intent in his human form. It was not unusual given draconic power to be able to grasp weapon intent faster than humans or demons.

"Ancestor, the artifacts test was a success." Serat floated in with a wide smile on her face. Her ruby and emerald eyes were sparkling as he smiled.

"Good, then that makes all the defenses ready to go. How are the assault cannons?" Lind had made weapons first as he expected issues but they had been tested far earlier than he expected. It was good in that the dragons saw their utility but he had only barely made them in time for the first army assault.

They essentially were Forged with weavings to condense harmonic energy from the wards. As he had created a self sustaining reaction for the next century, they could be the critical weapons against the Fiends.

Indeed, a Fiend weapon had been turned to ash by just being grazed by the cannon blast. Now, the defenses were also complete.

He had been infusing his harmony at regular intervals into the wards to keep the supply up but by his calculations, a single confrontation with a major Fiend force would drain all his harmonic Qi.

It would be enough.

"They are all repaired and at full capacity. The damn Dracar barely let's me check on them without him!" She closed her fist fiercely but he smirked. The dragon mentioned was a Star Tier dragon.

He had great compatibility with refining and practically worshiped at LInd's feet. A Triple Maester was a God to him.

Lind found him amusing. He was from the Silver Peaks far to the south from what he had heard. His dragon form was massive with a wingspan of nearly a kilometer when fully spread. Their scales were pure white to blend in with their peaks and the clouds ever present.

It made the place glow like silver, hence the name.

Lind was curious as all of his clan had stunning light and air Arts. The air he understood but the light had to come from something more than the altitude.

Dracar was also not a subtle being but Serat was being a bit blind in his estimation. The boy was clearly interested in her.

He came up short as he realized how he was acting! He smirked at himself as he returned to finish the sword he was working on. He could have Forged it from a raw block of ore but he needed to start from a sword for what he planned.

Forging from a raw block consumed up capacity for the elements he could infuse as well as effects. He had tried it before and learned a lot from the experience. Forging a pre-made object allowed for a lot more freedom in what he wanted to add to it.

He held up the blade. It had several metals to make an alloy called Star Steel. It was not black but it did have specks of glittering light all along it. It did evoke the aspect of stars when looking at it.

It was a notoriously difficult material to make, let alone refine. Lind then let his elements flare as the sword was engulfed in all 18 as well as his harmony. Serat sat down in awe as he worked his skills in front of her.

The sword reappeared but now it was a Law Grade weapon. It shimmered with power while being slightly golden in color.

"Ancestor, you made my weapon the same way?" He nodded as she produced the claw gloves that could expand for her dragon form. The sword shared a similar feature. Hers, however, were daily ruby in color.

He had learned how to Forge for harmonies! Spirits were also in both weapons but the sword waited for its true master to come.

"With this, my job is finally complete." His words took a moment to sink in but she then stood up and bowed low to him.

"I can only wish the Ancestor success!" It was time for him to go.
