Chapter 1183 - 1182 - Dregs of Power

The chime sounded again and his crystal nearly shattered! The feeling of falling came over him but then emerald flames lit up to repair it.

He could not handle that much longer but he was too weak to move! He had nothing left to give!

He saw no sign of karmic restitution coming to save him this time. He was going to be obliterated!

"Truly troublesome. I should be going home no–" The demon was about to shake his staff again when searing bright flames made him jump back. Oddly, the chime did not sound despite shaking violently.

[TRUE LORD!] Amares dropped out of the sky followed by the female dragon. Both looked in far better shape but still cursed. [Can you shrink at all? We have to run!]

Lind knew that would not work. He somehow doubted distance would matter much to his condition. There was something he could try though.

[By my authority, Amares is forgiven. He is a true dragon once more.] He glanced at the female and she gave him her name. [Serat is…] He repeated it once more and the clouds dispersed once again.

The demon frowned but was about to commence his assault when he froze.

"NO! Damn you! Damn you to Hell!" The demon ran away as black clouds gathered above.

[This will hurt but stay near me. I need to face this as well.] Power built and Lind could only pray it would work

A terrifying power gathered above them and both dragons felt no fear but joy. They knew what was coming. Banishment was terrifying but forgiveness was not much easier for them either. Still, it was far preferable!

Elemental Qi began to solidify above and pressure dispersed forcibly the Celestial Qi nearby. For the first time in over a million years, sunlight bathed the broken land.

The few surviving dragons fled away in fear but it was far too late.

All 6 natural elements slammed outward and struck every living thing. Lind had only forgiven 2, the rest were in range of Heaven's wrath!

There were 2 screams of pain but it was not in fear. It was joy! Scales and flesh were seared by the power of the elements ravaging them but both Amares and Serat were enduring the change.

Both could recall clearly when they were banished. They had followed their Clan Leader so they had fallen when he did. Dragons were vindictive.

Serat was doing better due to being a Sky Realm but Lind had no more time to spare. He was not exempt from what was happening.

Natural Qi flooded his meridians and dantian like an ocean! Even at peak Crystal Tier, it was a dangerous amount but that was not all. It was far stronger than him!

The vile Radiant Fiend Qi was desperately trying to kill his soul but now it was being slammed with the natural Qi. It was not pleasant to see that the Radiant Qi was able to fight back.

Fiend Qi remained so terrifying even when faced against the power of Heaven!

Lind, however, did not intend to rely on that alone! Emerald flames soured in his dantian like the sun! What was once just a mindless wave of elements took on a familiar form! A sinuous dragon roared as it slammed into the vile shadow.

His soul fractured once more but healed quickly thanks to the power of Heaven and Earth coursing in his dantian!

War was waged but it was barely even! He was shocked at how hard it was to purify the Radiant Fiend Qi even with all that help! He knew the issue was his own harmony was not strong enough!

The creature behind it clearly had far more power than any he had ever faced. So many Fiends had seemed powerful but he had been easily able to deal with them if he used his harmony against them!

It was far more difficult this time!

[I REFUSE TO LET YOU WIN!] He roared at it with his mind and suddenly a bolt of pure lightning slammed into his body. It coursed down his meridians causing damage before entering his dantian.

His crystal nearly shattered but the lightning was incidentally damaging him. It had come for the Radiant Fiend Qi!

A large portion of the Fiend Qi was simply vaporized by the lightning before it tried to repair itself. It had nothing to pull on so it shrunk considerably but its power remained.

His ephemeral dragon then absorbed the remnant power of the lightning! Pain lanced through his body when it happened but he used pure mental will to stay awake. If he passed out now, he was worse than dead!

The vile Qi suddenly shifted and condensed until a female shape appeared. Ash gray skin and pure white hair were readily recognizable as slim leather clothes hugged her form.

She was impossibly beautiful but only elicited disgust from him. He also felt fear.

"Annoying. If I have taken this form, it means those damned Heavens have intervened in my wish to kill you. My intent was fused with the last offering to that weakling. He at least got me here." Actual terror filled Lind.

She could create a sentient intent! She could fuse it to just her Qi?! He had never conceived of such a thing!

She looked up at him and instead of disdain, actual curiosity flashed across her narrow face. Her voluptuous form tilted slightly to the left as her fist was on her hip.

"You are only a Crystal Tier but you can do that? I can see why the Great One wants you dead. You have been a thorn and more in our plans. You are far from the only one but you are damned persistent. Well, I do not have much time left based on what I am feeling. So let's end you now." Lind blasted out his flames but he may as well have been a warm spring breeze for all it affected her.

She simply waved a hand and his flames were cast aside. Her arm was singed but that was it!

Was she stronger in that form?! He had no idea but he did not hold back as emerald lightning flew from his claws. She actually dodged those but her leg took a hit as it was obliterated.

The power of Heaven was nearly consumed just to do that!

His dragon conjuring was now so thin but his enemy seemed to be strong as hell. His emerald eyes narrowed but she only smiled.

"Truly, you are a terrifying enemy. Heaven wants to help you but the power to do so would kill you. Not the victory those damn spirits are looking for. The Great One truly was right to fear you. I will bring ultimate glory by sending you into oblivion and then the Celestial Fields will be ours again!

Lind felt time slow down. He recalled the devastated 1st layer when he first arrived. He recalled all the history of the Fiend War in the Heaven Realm. How many died? How many mortal realms were consumed?

It was impossible to know but he knew if he died, and with the 2nd layer and above cut off, the Great One would be able to rebuild the Realm Refiner with no one to stop him.

He would not have to sneak around nor really hide. If that bastard even possessed one Shard Tier Fiend, no one could even slow him down for the brief period he would need!

He was slowly grasping how much danger they were in but he was a distraction. He kept the bastard focused on him and it protected his family and friends!

[I will not yield!] His crystal lit up and all 18 elements obeyed his command. Rather than make an Art or another conjuring, he condensed his harmony at the center. He was pushing his harmony with the last dregs of his power!

She sneered at him.

"There is nothing left but for you to die!" Fiend lightning distorted his dantian and pain lanced his body even worse than before. Blood flew from him like he had sprung a leak across his entire length!

His connection to life was so dim but it was still there. His emerald eyes saw the lightning coming in slow motion but he could not care about it.

Either he lived or he was sent to oblivion.

A crack was heard by both of them but only Lind was not surprised.

She looked at his crystal before true fear showed on her face.

"Impossi–" The ephemeral dragon solidified briefly but it was no longer a Crystal Tier. It was a Radiant Tier!

Emerald lightning blasted out and met the Fiend lightning directly!

The 2 met and a final battle commenced in his dantian. Sparks and flares flew everywhere. His crystal was barely protected but his meridians were not.

Many shattered and his flesh was rotted away, but the conjured Fiend was now just smoke. She seemed to keep trying to push through but could not tilt it back into her favor.

"Even if you live–" He slammed into her with his mind.

[YOU ALL WILL STILL DIE!] He never looked away from her as his harmonic lightning began to collapse. It was all he could do at that moment.

Darkness closed in but he was awake long enough to see the Fiend Qi disperse. His body was severely damaged and his meridians were just as bad.

A faint flicker of emerald from his crystal was the only reassurance he had as the world fell away.
