Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1160 - 1159 - Friends?

Chapter 1160 - 1159 - Friends?

Lind came into the greater reception hall with the smell of good food and hum of conversation. He was still surprised at how limited telepathic contact was even under the Crimson Harmony Law Crystal.

In the palace, it was fairly easy but the farther away, the more limited it became. Also, the last million years had made it reflex to speak aloud but his own telepathy was massively enhanced even at the border of the Rubyfire Kingdom's fallen lands.

At present, there were easily 100 people mingling in the hall but he sensed easily 10,000 more in the surroundings. Some were mingling due to lower status but others were soldiers or guards.

Chu seemed to sneer as she realized they were the strongest people in the room by far. Despite the benefits of the crystal to the royal family, the Corruption still mitigated their strength.

It was part of why Nest's attack was so devastating. He could pull out his full power due to his protection from the Great One.

The murmurs died the instant Lind walked into the light from the ornate chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The light crystals were just bright enough to light the room but not to overpower any spot into shadows.

Lind was surprised to see the 5 Beast Lords were present but then again it made sense given the people who had come.

He felt a spike of hostility from a pair of steel eyes. The woman owning them had features that pained him. Still, he smiled gently at her and bowed in respect. The action seemed to catch her off guard but the man near her smiled more warmly.

Prince Petryn looked far more confident and assured from the last time they had met. He also saw Teegan looking on while holding a toddler that waved at him brightly.

"Lord Emerald–" The 5th Prince was about to announce him when Lind touched his shoulder. He would not have the Rubyfire Kingdom shoulder what was to come.

[I know you all can hear my voice. I know you have all come for your own reasons, but the only ones I wish to speak to are her Imperial Majesty and her son with his family at this time. I owe them much more than they can imagine.] He was not commanding but firm.

Many faces frowned deeply but he was worried the demon and demoness in red starfield robes smiled wide at his declaration. He mentally begged the Heavens for them not to be battle maniacs.

"Chu, please entertain the other guests while I address my business first." His spoken words were easily heard but the displeasure only rose among many. He did not care as the Fionan Empire was the closest neighbor to the Rubyfire Kingdom.

As such, the host and guest were on much stronger footing than the rest. The woman with fierce dark eyes and pristine white robes seemed to want to skewer him but she did not call him out.

His token, however, finally flared like the sun to let him know they were next on his list.

The 5th Prince escorted the small party to a private chamber. A guard tried to follow but it was Petryn that stopped him.

"You are only a Sliver Tier. Even if you wanted to, there is nothing you could do to stop this man. Besides, he is the one that protected my daughter before she was born. I trust him." Those words made his mother go wide eyed before looking at Lind with conflict.

The guard put a fist to his chest and then simply stayed outside the door. The 5th Prince left and the tension mounted until a shimmering badge of Forging was laid on the low table between them.

The creak of leather had the Empress quickly snatch it up before tears fell from her face.

"So, it is true. You were her student." Lind nodded before erecting a warding with his weaving. Petryn and Teegan were used to it but she was stunned at his casual display of Law Grade power.

"My name is Lind Frey. It was my supreme honor to be Delenn's student in Forging. She was trapped in my mortal realm when I met her…" Lind hid nothing. He spoke for quite awhile and answered questions as they came up.

It was only when he got to the Divine Ruin that he turned to Petryn.

"I only pieced together the past but you may know more?" He nodded but glanced at his mother.

"We have already covered it but this slip may hold answers for you." Lind took it gratefully but became grim then.

"I am sad to say the next part but our enemy drove Master to the brink of madness. It allowed a heart demon possession . I only have my own reference but she was easily in the final stages of soul collapse." He saw both imperials tear up but held up his hand.

He then produced a jade stone that shimmered with a strange pulsing light.

"With my weaving, I am able to record my memories. My words will never be enough." He then infused his Qi and the sequence of events played out.

Outrage flared at the clearly disturbed state of Delenn but shock followed that Lind still existed for her. He was the last chain binding her soul!

They wept as he was forced to end her but then saw the confrontation with Nest. Lind cut it short at points to avoid invoking the Great One but the final part left them awed.

Anything about his Divine Guardians was omitted but the gist remained.

"So, she at least could be reborn. Delenn!" The Empress wept onto her son's shoulder as he looked hollow. Teegan held his free hand as his little girl hugged his leg.

"I am prepared to face the Emperor, if he so wishes it." Lind gave them some time but then spoke his earnest words. It made the group snap to attention before the Empress shook her head.

"As an Emperor, he will understand, but as a father who doted on his daughter, he will not receive you well. Give him some time. Perhaps some of your friends out there can also assist in smoothing out future contact as even I will have trouble calming him down." Lind sneered suddenly.

"Friends? Those people are not my friends. The best case scenario is that they want me to do some work for them but the more likely is they want to control me. The worst case is they are but pawns for our enemy. I only sent a message to your empire yet all those learned of it with ease at the same time? I don't believe in coincidence." Petryn began to look horrified but the Empress was confused.

"Glowing man, don't be mean!" Lind glanced down at the small girl and shook off his dark aura. He smiled and nodded.

"Quite right, the people in this room are my friends or at least I would like them to be." He then summoned one last thing from his ring. "All of Master's belongings she had on her. I kept nothing except my badge."

The Empress gratefully took them and wept some more.

Lind then turned to the toddler.

"Blessed Amberscale Dragon. Soul Realm and at tier 2 no less. Not bad." Shock flooded the room as he casually evaluated Shea! Both Petryn and Teegan looked at him excitedly as he could see her cultivation clearly!

"True Lord, is my daughter healthy? We can only get vague results with testing for some reason." Lind was surprised but examined Shea before feeling chagrined. He sighed as he looked up at the Heavens.

[Princess Fyre, I will need to move up Marquis Song's granddaughter examination. I just got confirmation that my meddling has some unintended side effects.] He felt her affirmative response.

"True Lord?" He snapped back to the present and smiled widely.

"First, she is very healthy. She has gained metamorphosis due to my meddling so do not worry on that front." His words answered some questions but then he waved to Shea to come to him.

The girl seemed nervous but her parent's smiles reassured her as Lind scooped her up.

"This will feel warm but is not harmful, ok?" She bobbed her head up and down as emerald flames swept over her. They felt so good! Her body felt like taking a nap!

The adults were shocked as slowly an amber flame with 6 Soul Cores were projected outward.

"Congratulations, your daughter is a 6 elemental. I am afraid I did not know my protection would do this sort of thing but unlike a certain demoness, she is much in line with what a dragon should be." He then quickly trained Shea on how to temper her cores ahead of her foundation.

As an aether beast, she would have a much easier time of it as Ethry never had a single issue despite never having a harmony.

He also gave all his knowledge to Teegan and Petryn. The jade slips would covers the majority of issues that could crop up in the future.

"Why couldn't we see it? Even now, our senses are blocked." Petryn spoke up and Lind glanced at the girl before a wry smile came to him.

"Here." His emerald flames washed over the trio of adults and suddenly they could see Shea's cultivation perfectly!

"The Corruption was why. I have helped but the Corruption and 6 elementals are the antithesis of each other. Train her well and being around her will help those nearby overtime." Smiles spread as parents and grandparent began to dote on the little girl.

Lind smiled and left them to it as he went to face the next battlefield, the banquet!
