Chapter 1139 - 1138 - Flaw
Chapter 1139 - 1138 - Flaw
Lind examined his strange encounter from all the angles he could but the thing that bothered him most was how dimly he recalled the woman herself.
He vaguely recalled her hair but the rest of the details were fuzzy which was supposed to be impossible. He also could not replicate the sensation that had covered his body no matter how hard he tried.
His harmony responded normally but did not react like it had before.
Frustration made him give up after a week as it was clearly beyond him without a similar stimulus. It also mystified him as to why his harmony reacted at all. In his entire existence, his harmony had never acted like that!
The flame crystal was flawless in his dantian with each elemental orb but the fact he was told there was an underlying issue bothered him. He could find nothing wrong!
He really tried! He spent days just examining every millimeter of his dantian to his body but nothing seemed wrong. He had no comparison for his 18 elements but he had been concerned about issues from day one.
He had been truly worried he would suffer Qi deviation from the moment he began to incorporate the other elements into his dantian but thus far it had gone better than expected.
Yet, he instinctively felt the woman had not been lying when she said his foundation was fractured. There was no point in lying to him as cultivation was all about the foundation.
An issue would present itself in time but usually it was too late to fix without extreme measures. His elixirs had become a legendary resource for many cultivators on the very front but 6 elementals were always presenting unique issues.
What worked for other cultivators had to be modified for them and he now had 18!
He then had a thought but had no way to test it. He had to confront Chu but his serious look told her he was not trying to defy her. She now sat across from him as he explained what happened during his seclusion.
"Why do you trust a stranger so much?" He saw her pouting a bit but then he flared his 18 elements around him and saw her stare in awe at them.
"I should not exist, Chu. None of my disciples, no matter their interest in trying, can do what I have done. I do not understand why I can succeed where others fail but I do know it was my own curiosity that drove me to try. I wanted to understand it all." He smiled at his old days of researching various old archives and records.
Dust filled ancient halls with scrolls and slips that had not been examined in millions of years had been constant resources for him. He had to find all aspects he could back then to try and solve the issue of 6 elemental cultivation.
Later, it had been because he found the relationship between the 3 elemental systems tied together more than others thought. It had led to the discovery of Celestial Qi and even the unintended return of Celestials themselves!
By all rights he should have grievous issues but he had not only progressed, he was a Crystal Tier before any other 6 elemental! The reason he believed the woman was that it was all too easy to grasp such an extreme cultivation technique had to have a flaw.
It was not showing itself but he had not really devoted time to it either. Things were going well so why would he worry? If not for being forced to sit and think, he doubted he would have really considered it before.
His reasoning seemed to get through to her but solutions were non-existent. Lind was on a path he built himself.
"What about the Crimson Harmony Law Crystal? Could it help you?" Lind doubted it but he had few avenues to try.
Thus the couple asked for an audience with the King who granted it quickly. Once he made his request, the King almost escorted them himself!
Lind was amused at how fast his wish was granted but did not put the King on the spot. The volcano had not changed much since the last time he was there but the crystal felt different.
It seemed to hum happily now and the cracks were much smaller. He let the aura wash over him but other than some resonance that was familiar, nothing came to him.
He tried cultivating but other than some improved flow of Qi he found no issue. He did try comparing his own Harmony to the crystal but one was alive while the other was now inert.
The flow of Qi was stronger in him than the crystal but it was more profound in regard to Fire Laws.
[True Lord, you seem troubled.] A surprise came as the spirit of the dragon-phoenix reached out to him. It did not appear but he could tell part of it was that it was too weak to manifest again.
[I have a concern I cannot even sense. I am trying to compare the crystal to myself but it did not work.] He proceeded to explain his various concerns and the beast presence seemed to consider it before a laugh came from it.
[You are either lucky or just stubborn to not have collapsed yet. I have no help for your elements but your foundation is flawed.] Lind perked up. The beast could tell?! [Tell me, why have you only incorporated the elements into your dantian but not your body?]
The question made him go wide eyed.
He swiftly examined his meridians and body. His meridians were tempered by all 18 elements but his body was not! He had faced tribulations but had only survived them, not used them to change the fundamental construction of his body!
How stupid could he be?!
[So the flaw is the difference in how my dantian and meridians are tempered but my body is still purely natural Qi?] The beast pulsed agreement. Lind bowed low to him but now he had a new issue.
His body was damned strong! It would resist such a fundamental change with all it had!
He had to consider modifying his cultivation technique as well. Such a basic mistake had been overlooked by him but he knew Wyndam had taken it into account for 6 elementals long ago!
The harmonic tempering he created for Delenn and the others had been based on that very technique!
Lind returned to his room for true seclusion as he had to consider what he needed. A tribulation would actually be helpful but he had to actually start before that. If he kept pushing his body forward, it would only become stronger!
Elixirs became his only chance!
He would have to create several elixirs exclusively for him. They would be useless to anyone else save 1. He was not the only cultivator that needed special techniques to forge the body to align with the needs of a cultivation technique.
Kal sprang to mind but in his case it was more about his mind than body. Mills, however, was a better comparison. She had to master her Battle Aura but her body needed to be modified to accept the level of training she had to undergo.
Until the point of awakening, she had done rather mundane cultivation that only progressed her to the World Realm.
Once he began training her, she needed some elixirs to rebuild her body from the ground up. As a human, and World Realm, it was painful but easily done compared to his current dilemma.
A dragon body was already damned powerful but he had forged a body to fight beings far beyond his power over his life. Survival meant his body had learned and become far stronger than a dragon in the same realm as him.
On top of that was the fact he was a progenitor! While it came with perks, it also meant that once a shape was defined, it was damned reluctant to change course! Chu was an example of how dangerous changes to a body could be as well.
Both Jur and Chu were lucky that the ancestral spirits were not truly alive as Lind could have done nothing to stop them punishing the pair regardless of his beliefs they were innocent.
In his case, he had no ancestor to combat but he had been changing his body as he needed until a final dragon body had been formed. Now, he wanted to change it again!
His harmony would help a bit as it was clearly compatible but he had to prepare the body for that change. An elixir he created for others would serve as a good start.
Body Reformation Elixir was a kind of all purpose item. It was meant to slightly break down the current body of a cultivator so Qi could be fused with it in techniques that demanded it. Essentially, the resilient cultivation body would be primed to accept changes more easily.
For a mortal it did nothing, but cultivators would feel both pain and likely go through purification on a level most would find intolerable to withstand. A man that had not made a peep as his arm was broken had screamed like a baby after using it.
Lind had done his best to mitigate the pain but it could not be avoided. His issue was that elixir would not even cause his body to budge. Oh there were Immortal versions of it, but he tried it to see what would happen.
His body did not even feel a thing! It also did not change. It was as solid as ever.
Starting from a modified version of an existing elixir, he then had to create novel elixirs to begin to transform his flesh to accept the 12 new elements. In the case of demonic Qi, he felt optimistic since there was a plethora of material to study and experiment with.
The issue was the other system. Celestial Qi was what Fiend Qi was supposed to be but the current 2nd Layer was inimical to all of them. He would have to create an environment to allow him to study but the other issue was resources.
He could not make them out of thin air and what he had was limited. There were no beast cores, crystals, or other comparable materials either. Lind was grim on that front.
Even if he could make the half step of incorporating demonic Qi into his body's foundation, if he did not do Celestial Qi at the same time, it would be exponentially harder later.
His long battle began with the library but he also needed something else. He needed a demonic elixir master. It was time to take a trip north!
