Chapter 1124 - 1123 - Weaving a Soul
Chapter 1124 - 1123 - Weaving a Soul
Lind crashed into the countryside far from the city. Nothing stopped him leaving which was suspicious but he had no time. He tried to reach Chu, Ranger, or others but no one answered.
He was exhausted even with elixirs coursing in his veins. Mills was pale but ok. Her Gold Tier cultivation was stable. He gave her a Heaven grade 4 elixir to be safe while he looked at the withered corpse of his Master.
He laid her down gently as he sent a prayer to the spirits as he examined the fallout of both their battle and the possession. Blood vessels were still flowing but the heart was slowing. The damage to the dantian and meridians was almost irreparable.
Her brain, though, was where his breath caught.
Vile Qi was there! Fiend Qi! It was pulsing in her brain and understanding flooded him. Her soul was protected but without his harmonic Qi charging the artifacts, her body was vulnerable!
The soul and body were one but the body could still die with the soul enduring!
So the body could be attacked and affect the soul! The only thing was that the weaving was far beyond anything he had ever seen.
How could Nest or anyone do that?!
The weaving was still active and he was able to follow it directly to her soul! He had made it so a heart demon would not only form but it would easily consume Delenn! He had woven her soul!
A mighty roar of rage shook the countryside as Lind lost all control.
"Wow, I knew you could get angry but that is still impressive." Once more, a nonchalant Nest appeared. His left arm was still discolored but it was reattached and moving. The stomach area was exposed and also discolored but the right shape.
The 2 warhammers were dropped on the ground. Mills shivered but an emerald haze suddenly covered her and Delenn both.
"Who are you?" Lind's voice was thick with rage and sorrow. His Master had been murdered! She had not given in! He had not failed her. She had been killed!
The amused smile from the face so similar to hers was disgusting but the young man looked to the south and frowned.
"Tch, your pet is annoying like you. She got the rest of my tools destroyed so quickly. Enough of that interference." Nest waved the spear and all noise died. That was not all, but Lind no longer felt the Corruption or tainted Qi at all.
What was going on?!
"Ah, much better. The Sifter is still working but not able to do much without the Realm Refiner. I will have to fix that eventually. So much wasted time." Numbness spread through Lind. It was impossible.
It could not be possible.
"Oh but it can be, Little Dragon. You have seen my technique but I will admit it took some changes to this body to get it to work right. It is always annoying preparing bodies. I also can't devote a lot of attention even at my realm." Lind wanted to kill him. He wanted to rip the being in front of him apart.
"Name?!" His terse question made the thing wearing Nest laugh.
"Surely you remember? I am the Great One! I have not been here in a decent chunk of time. I have been alive a long time ya know? Still, being away from my main body changes me as you can tell. This person affects me that way. If I tried to take over fully, the Sifter would shatter the body. Damned side effects are annoying but it does what I want." Nest squatted down to look Lind in the face.
Curiosity was there but then a globe appeared between them. Blue oceans with 7 continents appeared. It was damned familiar.
"You are from here, right?" Lind said nothing but a smile spread wider at his silence. "Thought so. You are playing the hero so hard, you had to be. Oh there are heroes here too but they are not as gung ho as we are. Well, I have had this convo enough to know I should skip to the end. Do I kill you here or do you join me?"
Lind looked incredulous which made Nest laugh.
"Ah I suppose that does shock you in particular. You have done better than most! I have met those from our world that slaughtered Fiends like stalks of wheat in a field. Losing them is not such a big deal but you actually destroyed one of my facilities and then undid a bloodline array helping me out." Nest stood back up and twirled the spear expertly. He twirled it around his back to show his body had fully recovered in that short time.
"Your power interests me. Your ability to force Fiend Qi back to a natural state is amazing but that is not all. I can tell, you have all the elements! How did you do that?!" The imposing dark shadow that killed Lanbao like an afterthought contrasted sharply with Nest in front of him.
"I have no interest in serving you ever. You are going to die by my hand or another's! I do not care which!" A frown finally crossed Nest's face before a tired sigh left him.
"Why do the interesting ones always say that? Do you know how many I consumed after they said such things and they were not half as interesting as you?" A glance at Mills made Lind glare harshly but Nest seemed not to care.
"Better to remove future issues. Can't say I didn't–" The emerald ward flared brightly and Lind felt a lot of Qi leave his dantian like there was no tomorrow. Pain actually appeared on Nest's face as shock came afterward.
"Just what is this power? A Laws, a Dao, maybe something else? Slaves of Heaven always surprise me." That term was new but Lind did not care as it reminded him of something.
"Hey, if you are listening, take these 2 away and let me fight. Our enemy is here." An amused grin spread on Nest's face.
"Full of yourself Progenitor? In this place I am–" The world suddenly returned as 2 shafts of light slammed from above. Heaven rumbled in rage as well as clouds gathered and Nest finally looked serious.
"Damn guardians! How did you know?!" As he spoke, 2 familiar women appeared in front of Lind. The same women that he met after his death!
Blonde and brunette with simple white clothes cinched at the waist with a golden cord stood before him in the flesh!
"Twisted One! Your tricks are known to us now! Of course we will overcome them!" Nest sneered as he pointed above them.
"Oh, and how much will it cost you? That battle is not going so well with your absence you know?" Grim expressions covered their faces but Lind finally stood up and touched each of their shoulders.
All 3 were in shock at him!
"Take my dying Master and the young girl away. He is mine." His emerald eyes were cold but Nest snorted at him.
"Your Master is already dead, just a ghost is left. As for you, those Guardians could certainly foil me but you are just–" Emerald flames exploded as Lind slammed his fist into Nest's face.
The man was sent flying like a ragdoll until he gouged out a massive crater in the earth. The emerald scales smoldered but Lind felt no pain.
"Please, leave him to me! I have much for him to answer for. I will owe you a great debt." The 2 women looked at him in shock before wide smiles crossed their faces.
"We cannot stay but a simple favor is enough. They will come to no harm." He nodded at them before he took on his dragon form. He was not messing around with that bastard!
"What the Hell was–" Nest was healed once more but emerald flames seared his flesh as if he was in Hell. Pain like he had never felt was wracking his body without end! "What are you?! Why do you have this power?!"
Lind cared little for his questions. His eyes glowed as his claws glowed.
[You like playing with souls, well I am a weaver too!] Surprise flared for a moment but then a dark laugh left the healing Nest.
"So, you will cross the line then? You will become like a Fiend and meddle in other people's souls?" Lind roared as his tail flared and slapped the man like an ant but his body endured better than any human should.
He could feel auras closing in but neither cared as they saw only each other.
"Your power could complete my plan, I really want it but there are others now thanks to you. Your Frey Clan in particular has promise. Did you know your children are being dragged into war? Not with Fiends only, but the ever so cooperative humans. It is really so easy too–" Emerald filaments sliced his flesh like a hot knife through butter!
[YOU DARE PROVOKE ME?!] SIgils suddenly appeared all around them and a profound feeling spread across the area. Law Grade was a broad field but Lind had a singular focus and it was finally in front of him.
Nest sneered but then frowned as he looked down. His body was not healing as fast anymore. He looked up and around them before a truly serious look crossed it.
"I stand corrected. You are a true threat. I will have to leave orders to have you killed immediately. No more chances." The spear flared with familiar vile power but unlike any time before, it was not destroyed when exposed to the air.
The Heavens became enraged and Nest sneered up at them.
"I will not be bound by your rules! I will rule forever! You will never kill me again!" Lind heard the anger and disdain in the words but he only had eyes for his target.
"You are mine!" The words made Nest look at him with a dark grin before blood suddenly spewed from his mouth.
"W–w–what have you done?" The body began to show all its injuries that were previously healed.
[Weaving a soul is not only about harm, but healing. I often wondered if I could save thralls. It is a damnably difficult thing but I have not been able to test it. Thank you for proving my theories correct if flawed.] Lind looked down coldly as a different look took over one steel gray eye.
Horror! Regret! Despair!
"Y–y–you dare defy me?! I am going to rule over all of this! I will break Heaven and Earth! They will never threaten me again!" Lind sneered as emerald lightning built up in the sky above.
[You are right. Heaven and Earth won't kill you. I will!] Emerald lightning slammed down as the sigils flared! No damage was done to the human Nest but a massive shadow appeared around him as it screamed in pain.
There were 2 glowing white eyes that were enraged but powerless as it was ripped apart. It was only a tiny piece of the bastard! Nest collapsed alive but barely as wounds littered his body.
Lind fell from the sky and slammed into the ground. He was exhausted but still conscious. He tried to get up but couldn't.
A flash of black and white appeared around him as Bori and Chu got to him. They picked him up but he pointed towards the area he left. He still had something to do.
