Chapter 1119 - 1118 - Crown Princess
Chapter 1119 - 1118 - Crown Princess
Lind woke up very sore. Chu, Jur, and even Oz had given him a talking to about pushing his meridians and dantian so far. He had studied what happened with his Storm Art: Incendiary Storm.
He had not accounted for his new understanding regarding his Laws when he used the Art. The Laws had caused a synergistic reaction and resulted in a power far beyond his ability to control.
When he let the control go, the Laws and Qi pulled together to reach a balance before unleashing the new strength. He realized his particular Arts were extremely dangerous now. It would require a careful examination but he had to fix what he had done.
He had a new Storm Art in mind for a long time, especially in light of how some plants and beasts could attack by draining the vitality of a land away.
Once such a beast or plant was killed, the land remained dead. It would not come back without intense effort. He also knew his lava created as a byproduct was actually a step above most Immortal Qi he had encountered.
No one in the 2nd layer could possibly deal with it.
Thus he used the newly refined Storm Art: Rebirth Storm and saw the same result as before. The moment he let go, the Qi and Laws sought a balance before releasing the effect across the lands.
He noticed it perfectly had no effect on humans or beasts but demons might still react given their alternative elements.
Aether children and manifested aether beasts would be likely to be affected as well but that would be for another day. Chu had made some notes on the effects and he was shocked that the lava not only became rich earth but nurtured new plants to the Soul Realm!
How?! He wanted to study it so badly but now he was under restriction from any more foolish actions by his family and friends. Even Katerina somehow grasped he was in trouble and said 'Mata bad!'
A baby gave him a talking to!
So he cultivated and stabilized his foundation once more. He had made some gains as actually seeing the Laws interact like that was instructive. It gave him more information to better create theories of integrating the new relationships into his various aspects of cultivation.
An unexpected benefit was for his Forging and elixirs. They had lagged behind his weaving in potency but with his new understanding he could improve them once again!
Still, he was forbidden from even doing that so he simply ran simulations in his mind. He found he felt refreshed after a few days and it worked out well as a messenger had come for him.
The Crown Princess of the Rubyfire Kingdom was requesting his presence.
He pulled out dark gray robes that were Forged by him during his journey. It took way too long to purify ingredients but once done, Forging was fairly easy. They were a stark contrast to his crimson set and simply gray robes.
These had been made for his ability to be a Maester and while only 1 badge adorned it, there were 2 more places to hang his others when he desired to.
It had not been ready before but now it would serve him well. Chu was going with him and Oz. Ranger would stay back with Jur and Nana for now.
Katerina was with her father of course but she seemed upset he was leaving that day. He hoped it was not an omen as she was usually uncaring of his departures. Jur usually was her favorite.
"We will be back soon, never worry." He patted her little head that was not full of dark hair like her mother's. She looked put out but her tiny hands grasped his before he had to go.
Her wails were clear but not the reason.
"You spoil her too much, Husband." Lind smiled at a familiar complaint of his wives. Still, Katerina was different.
"I could not save her mother for more than a single moment together. Let me spoil her a bit." Chu had no come back to that but Oz chuckled behind them.
"A baby can be spoiled, what matters is when she can get around on her own. Right, Master?" Lind nodded. A baby should be spoiled but a child destined to be a cultivator should not.
Ranger was her father but her gifts were unknown. It reminded him that Teegan should have given birth by then. Her child had far more protection than Katerina in one respect since it was a dragon but Katerina far outclassed it in all other aspects.
Marquis Song's grandchild was only protected by him and no more. He worried his actions would have drastic effects on the 3 regardless.
He had to take responsibility for that.
The trio made their way down the metal corridors until they reached the stables once more. The horses and qilin had been allowed out to graze which they seemed excited about.
The new forest was of strong interest to them.
He saw a table had been set up with formations to keep them protected from attacks and weather both. They shimmered to his Eyes but they would be invisible to others.
A pristine white cloth covered it with various plates for easy eating. It was not a feast but a buffet! He also saw a smaller table set up with some familiar faces and a few new ones.
Gilgamesh was behind the person at the highest seat. He was in fine robes with the ruby in flames across his chest. A cloak was draped over him but Lind still detected 2 swords, 8 daggers, and a battle ax on his person.
Summoning took an instant but an instant was enough for a skilled cultivator. His dark hair was tied back with the same clasp as before but what really drew his eyes was the person next to him.
Piercer of the Veil Immortal usually wore rather conservative robes like most cultivators, but now she wore a form hugging dress with veils covering the rest of her face on top of her blindfold. She also had a dark metal ornament in her hair that was just shy of a crown!
Why was she so dolled up?!
She was behind the now familiar 5th Prince but he too was different. His robes were subdued but still dark maroon with a white relief of the burning ruby across his chest as well. His robes were easily a grade higher than Gilgamesh but lower than hers.
There were some cooks and servants bringing them dishes but the woman at the highest chair stunned him.
By her vitality, she was only 100 thousand years old at most but she was a peak Shard Tier! By the standards he knew, that was beyond impressive. In the current environment, that made her a monstrous talent!
Still, why was one so young the Crown Princess? The 5th Prince was younger too. What was going on since their King should be millions of years old?
She was in a sparkling but not unpleasant set of ruby colored robes. Her emblem was golden as well. Her hair was a much brighter red but her cream colored skin shone like a jewel all on its own. She had a staff leaning on her chair that his expert eye realized was a Law Grade artifact.
If she could pull out even 20% of its power, he would be hard pressed to stand up to her in his current state. Chu at his side seemed on guard too. She was looking at the person near the buffet.
Lind noticed him too. He was dressed like a butler with a black and white suit that would not be out of place in an 18th or 19th century setting. It was so stereotypical he knew it had to be the design of a reincarnator.
Seeing evidence of such things brought home how much was lost by the Realm Refiner on the 1st layer. It had wiped out all traces and artifacts forever.
The trio bowed low and moved forward once the Princess waved them on. Lind noticed the butler with his silver hair cut short and neat never moved but the feeling of danger rose. Chu never took her eyes off of him.
Oz, for his part, followed directions by the servants and came to a spot behind empty seats. Lind and Chu moved in front of the table and bowed low once more. It was only then Lind confirmed the Crown Princess' eyes were odd.
They smoldered. It was as if they reflected the Fire Law Crystal he had seen from afar!
"So, you are the esteemed Lord Emerald Immortal and his wife, Lady Chu. I formally welcome you to my kingdom. I am Crown Princess Fyre Risselle. My brother has done well to bring you to us." Her way of speaking was already like a Queen but it made sense. This was a formal greeting but he narrowed his eyes.
The 5th Prince had never once given his name and Lind had never asked. It was a strange formality that even though he was Immortal, the Prince could deny such information as he was on his home turf. He did not even extract it from the Piercer of the Veil Immortal but it was odd his own sister did not introduce him now.
What was going on?
"I humbly thank your many indulgences for my mistakes since my arrival. I acted of my own selfish desire. I also apologize for the issue recently caused." His words seemed to catch the Prince off guard but Princess Fyre seemed to smile.
"We will put such discussions for another time. Today is about introductions and hearing about your journeys." Lind sneered internally. Anything he told her would be fabrication on his part aside from his arrival afterward.
He had to hand it to her. It was a perfectly normal request and he was painted into a corner! It was going to be a long meal!
