Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1117 - 1116 - Immortal Battle

Chapter 1117 - 1116 - Immortal Battle

Lind saw the plants in the area had suffered from his poison as well but its potency would have drastically dropped off after first contact with the parasite extensions in the beasts. Still, he made a note of it for the future.

Innocent plants had suffered that had nothing to do with his battle but it would matter little in what was to come. The irritating part was in his human guise, he had severe limits he could not exceed or his true form would shine through.

The writhing roots were concerning as even his scales might be pierced if he was not prepared. He contemplated how to begin but the parasite did not wait. The Shimmering Shadow Fungus he knew was not so complex but he felt the demonic Qi shift and it became harder to see his target until a pained grunt snapped it back into place.

The poison was still at work!

"You ant! You will become the first of my ascension on these lands!" Lind rolled his eyes mentally. Where did a plant learn such cheesy lines? Seriously, did it really believe that?

It was dangerous but even Lind knew there were still peak Crystal Tiers that could wipe the floor with both of them without trying very hard.

If he could use his draconic breath, the fight would already be over.

An idea sparked in his mind as there was something he could use!

Lind channeled Qi thru his meridians and the skies darkened which gave all pause. He had been working hard to update and improve the Storm Arts to the Immortal Realm but only 1 had made such a breakthrough to match his current cultivation.

"Sundering Lightning Devastation!" Lind always wanted to shout out his attack but his words were intentional as the fungus ignored it and leapt at him. Several roots became impossible to track whips but Lind sneered at it.

The heat skyrocketed as gouts of flame slammed down from above. Arts were aptly named as the point was to make the Qi combine in ways to achieve your vision. It was not an exact science but going by feel and guesswork.

The boiling clouds above had gone from black to crimson as more flames flew down but where were the fires coming from? Lind had always wondered if instead of unleashing lightning or his harmony, he could ignite and direct various effects at his will.

The easiest was flames.

The clouds were crimson because fire Qi had been condensed until little else could be up there. The words he had called out were simply a ruse to buy some time as the shift in color would warn the fungus before he was ready.

Now, pillars of flame slammed down around him and at key points to catch his enemy off guard.

Sadly, while it was at the same level as his foundation, his control of it was not very flexible. He could make more pillars but it weakened as he made more from the clouds above.

Still, the roots were seared to ash which made the human shaped enemy scream in rage. Shadow Qi was useless at the moment but dark light condensed with blue flame to make demonic lightning fly across the space between them.

Lind was stunned but dodged barely in time, yet his body convulsed briefly as it passed by him! How strong was that violet lightning?!

The blast slammed into a formation in front of the battered wall behind him and shattered it with ease! His eyes narrowed as several soldiers were shot back with blood spewing from them.

It would definitely wound him severely but its power showed him that with demonic lightning, the fungus was stronger than its realm!

He rolled aside as another bolt slammed into the spot he was standing and sent earth soaring into the sky. Lind tried to keep his Art going but it was a complex Art and still in need of refinement for the very issues in battle he was facing.

He let the flow of Qi go but the dispersing clouds gave him a surprise!

The clouds collapsed inward until it became gold and even the fungus froze as it prepared to respond. Instead of flickering flames, it was molten lava slamming down from the sky!

His Eyes revealed a few glimpses of the Art but he would need to focus on it later. The lava was not normal. It had Fire Laws in it!

"Bastard! You think this can stop me?!" Another cringe line was said by the fungus but Lind suddenly felt his instincts scream at him.

He shattered the ground beneath his feet as he launched towards the soldiers.

"ERECT ALL DEFENSES!! MAXIMUM POWER NOW!" His voice boomed across the devastated area and the soldiers scrambled as Lind had his fingers light up. He engraved like his life depended on it as a massive ward flared after he dropped a golden weaving plate at his feet.

It was an act but the ward was very real.

The fungus was arrogantly moving after him as if unconcerned. Did it have no survival instinct?

"You coward! I will crack that open with my–" Whatever idiotic thing it was about to say was lost as the pillar of lava finally touched the earth and a blinding light flared in all directions!

The world was ripped away from him as he went blind and deaf at once. A force knocked him straight into the stone of the wall like he was in a cartoon! His ward was not meant to stop concussive force but to stop what came next.

A burning shockwave shot outward and seared the entire area to nothing as a mushroom cloud rose over it all.

Lind slowly got his physical senses back but his ringing ears were useless. His eyes had one massive blot blocking his vision and his sense of balance was just gone.

His aura was useless as well as it was completely scrambled.

What in the blazes just happened?! He had no time to study it but it was critical to know for the future! Did the Storm Arts have such a treacherous fallout when they collapsed at the Immortal Realm?

[Master, the Shimmering Shadow Fungus is not dead!] Haro's warning blared in his mind and the luck of the spirits was with him as he stumbled as a coiled set of roots ripped the stones apart where he had been standing.

They were scorched but still so powerful?!

Lind downed a Restoration Elixir that sped up his recovery to be shocked at what he saw.

The once human shape was missing pieces but enough of the face remained to glare at him with a single eye! It was still perfectly alive?!

"You are despicable on top of being a coward! You have done nothing but attack me from a distance and with deceit!" Lind really wanted to know what the beast tide had been but he had no time to respond as a simple physical attack was a bit much for him!

It was only as he launched away from the wall that he realized the entire forest was gone! The only places still standing were the street protected by a Law Binding and the wall he had protected.

Anything natural was just gone!

The Strider was now visible but still operating from what he could tell. When did it leave the roar?

Lind pushed it aside and simply kept avoiding the roots that ripped up the molten earth without a sign of caring they would be damaged.

The terrain was now very much limited unless he revealed he could fly. The destruction had melted the land into a molten pool that seared his skin even just running by it!

"I will consume you and become strong enough to kill all your family! I will wear your face so it will be the last thing they–" Lind almost dispersed his disguise but a massive beast roared from the Strider.

Black flames engulfed the fungus which screamed as it fell into the laval where it thrashed around until it finally died.

The roots had slashed him up a bit but nothing he could not heal.

He slowly looked over to find Chu transformed completely. A massive tiger with shining black scales and gorgeous shimmering eyes looking him over critically before leaping at him. She swiped him up to the roof of the Strider before setting him down.

It was only then that he realized he was still bleeding! His body was exhausted as Solene and Gilgamesh helped carry him below.

"Lord Emerald Immortal, hold on, we will get you to–" Lind froze as a man with dark skin and tan robes suddenly appeared in front of them.

Chu knew who it was but the other pair tensed at the stranger who then raised his hands and simply gathered Lind up in a force of gravity.

"My Master has his own elixirs. Please excuse us but do not move this vehicle. He will want to confirm that thing is truly dead." Both paled at Haro's words and Lind finally let himself pass out.

The most devastating attack had come from an accident but it was on par with a Crystal Tier Immortal! He had changed the quality of the landscape in a single move! If not for reinforcing the wall defenses, all those soldiers and likely the far city would have been wiped out as well!

Darkness closed in and he welcomed it as he had a lot to face when he woke up!
