Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1106 - 1105 - Secret of the Seers

Chapter 1106 - 1105 - Secret of the Seers

Lind felt a vein throb on his forehead as he found someone isolated inside wards upon his return to the inn. He saw Jur lecturing her mother sternly while Nana was nodding next to her.

Ranger was guarding the prisoner with Oz. The old man was shaking with laughter but Lind did not find anything funny!

Mills was in shock behind him but a burp drew his attention to the sleeping Katerina. He went over to soothe his soul with cuteness.

"What am I to do with her?" He gently looked down at the sleeping baby and felt his heart ease. Mills looked a little lost but he waved her over.

"I will deal with this, please keep Katerina at peace. She has taken a liking to you." Mills lit up and nodded quickly. He made sure to restrain her Battle Aura to be safe but she was improving quickly with mastering it.

It would take a few months, maybe over a year, to be safe to say she was able to control it under all conditions but he wanted to take 3 to be safe.

He then sighed as returned to the current state of affairs.

"Jur, let her tell me her story. Keep scolding her after that." She nodded smartly while Chu looked aggrieved. Truly, she and Shoti were too alike!

The story she relayed though made his blood run cold. Piercer of the Veil Immortal knew what he wanted and was against him knowing?!

A new ward went up that isolated the world entirely. It was the strongest weaving he could perform and he dispersed his human form for his natural state.

Emerald hair flowed down his back as crimson robes of fine make covered his body. His tanned skin and emerald eyes were clear as he let his full draconic aura return.

The woman was unharmed but the Piercer of the Veil Immortal was more than she appeared. He recognized a beast bloodline in her! In exchange for looking human, Lind lost a lot of bestial traits but now he could tell a lot more about her.

"Sphynx maybe or some kind of serpent variant?" It was hard for him to be sure as it was too diluted but he definitely felt her light and darkness elements were her primary ones. She was extraordinarily strong too.

He woke her up as he summoned an ornate lacquered chair from the previous war tower quarters. She slowly came to and then froze as she tilted her face to him.

[Do you know who I am?] He used his telepathy and felt her flinch in pain but the intensity was not that high. Why was she hurt?

"You are Triple Maester Taren Cord, a dragon. You have to be a Divine Dragon too. So, you are related to the Emerald Immortal?" His aura flared hard and she broke out in a cold sweat.

[You are protecting the Fiends. Why?] It made no sense. She had none of their damnable Qi in her. Even with his full power he felt her body was completely normal. Why would she work for them?

"I would never! They are the bane of all existence! Yet, no one can go to that cursed place! We will all die if you do!" His eyes narrowed at her. What did that mean?

He said nothing but she swallowed before kneeling before him.

"I was raised by a small faction of seers that have lived alongside the Rubyfire Kingdom royal family. Ever since its founding, we saw a terrible darkness that could not be avoided. All attempts to stop it only delayed the inevitable. The reason we are doing so well after falling is because the seers prepared the royal family back at the founding." Lind nodded and waved for her to continue.

She relayed various attempts to still fight back but the battle was far beyond their ability to do it alone. He knew what she was describing and suddenly he stood up and bowed low to her.

His action shocked her!

[You have no idea but your efforts bought time for others to fight back as well. The Fiends attacked on various fronts so it was not in vain!] The Realm Refiner had been delayed and ultimately sabotaged but now he learned a group of seers worked hard for the 2nd layer.

He could only hope the 3rd layer had something similar.

"You give us too much honor! It was all in vain due to the current world! The Corruption can never be lifted as we will all die!" She said such words again but he was honestly confused.

[Explain.] His single word could not be denied.

She swallowed nervously before she began to talk.

"When my gift first awakened, I was assaulted by a terrible vision. A mountain but it was upside down and corpses stacked like cord wood. Blood flowed like rivers across the world and a laugh that made my soul shiver echoed across the land. The event that led up to that future was always armies heading towards the inverted mountain. It led to the end of all!" Her words were convincing he had to admit.

Her body reactions and Qi flow also showed she believed every word.

[Have others seen this vision?] She nodded emphatically. He pondered but then froze. Hadn't he come across something like this before? When? Where?

He tried to recall but it was like the memory would not come. A vision of the future that was hopeless or simply related to difficulty?

He then shot upwards in shock! His trial of heart demons!

Was his future predetermined or did he decide it? He recalled his words to himself back then.

A high potential and a glimpse of the future. That was what he chose to say but he did not confirm things were set in stone. His choices could derail it all and foreknowledge could lock one into a path of self destruction.

[Do you know what a harmony is in relation to a cultivator?] He saw her tilt her head before emerald flames appeared in his upturned right hand. [Tell me what you see.]

Her eyes lit up but then she reeled backwards in pain.

"What is that?! Why is a storm of possibility exploding outward from a simple flame?!" Lind felt like his comprehension of his own harmony rose from that statement alone.

[Possibility, huh? That helps a lot, but let me ask you, can you see my future?] She shook her head but calmed as he dispersed his harmony. [Then why not let me know about the inverted mountain? I am not taking armies there. I have no need.]

She seemed troubled by his words but shook her head.

"It is better to live under the Corruption than to let all die." She was firm and Lind knew he would need to take a leap for her to understand.

[Can you see the past?] She looked at him but then nodded.

"It is not as difficult as the future for obvious reasons but there are conditions. Heaven and Earth are fair. What I see, I cannot control entirely but due to that I am unable to reveal it on pain of losing my ability forever." It surprised him. It must be an instinct yet he knew someone must have tested it.

"Then, Piercer of the Veil Immortal, I allow you to see the past of Lind Frey, Progenitor of the Divine Dragon race he is creating and True Lord of dragons. See what I know about your future." His voice was the same so she now knew the truth as her skin went pale.

"How?! You were human?!" He nodded and held out his hand.

"See for yourself. I permit it." A rumble came from above but both ignored it as she slowly took his hand. Violet energy flared around her as she screamed but he healed her with his harmony.

"It is all right, your soul is safe, I promise." He saw the danger but he was unsure what she saw as time no longer passed normally for them. He felt it slow and speed up randomly for reasons he did not understand.

Eventually she came out of it as tears streamed down her face.

"Why? Why do you keep facing them like that? Have you not suffered enough, Lord Frey? They could be attacking your Clan right now and you could never know. Why not live out your days with them?" She had seen a lot it seemed.

"The Fool only needs to recreate the Realm Refiner and the facility up here is ready to aid it. Either way, we all die but I understand the danger of your vision. Cultivators are essentially food to Fiends so it would be crop delivery at best to send an army, but I am the bane of them. I will not stop until he pays. He will die by my hand for all he had done but mostly for Lanbao!" Lind hid nothing and she slowly nodded.

"His majesty has some ancient records that can help you. I do not know where it is but I can tell you it is not on the surface. The inverted mountain is underground." He nodded before resuming his human features and dismissing the ward.

He found Chu looking with concern but something seemed to be clear to her.

"How long were we inside?" She smiled at him.

"Only half a day has passed." Both were in shock as it felt far longer than that.

"Contact his Highness, you WILL apologize, and then escort her back. She will cover for you." Lind was now speaking as he normally would and Chu noticed. She bowed low but then looked with concern at the woman next to him. He sighed.

"Her heart belongs to the 5th Prince if he ever deigns to claim it." A small shout came from behind him but Chi smiled wide in understanding.

"What shall we do about her declaration?" He looked at Chu and smiled.

"The truth. She saw what happens when I go to the inverted mountain." She nodded behind him. His identity was safe as she could not reveal it without facing a stiff penalty but she was looking at him oddly.

"What?" She swallowed before looking at Chu.

"You have a great danger ahead of you." He looked at her then shivered. It was not her gift that told him that. She had seen his wives. He was indeed in for a lot of danger ahead!
