Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1105 - 1104 - Bargaining

Chapter 1105 - 1104 - Bargaining

"Your Highness, what did his Majesty say?" Gilgamesh was in the 5th Prince's quarters in the palace. The celebration had not become a bog of headaches as they feared but the bomb of Junior Mills was a hard pill to swallow.

Lord Emerald Immortal had awakened her but her method was just beyond insane. Yang Nurture Physiques had some records of being battle oriented but never a Yin one.

"Father was not happy to say the least. He was accepting that Lord Emerald Immortal was not taking her to keep but to train. He also was glad she was very attached to that orphanage we now have back in the city." A golden drink swirled in the crystal glass in his hands as his pink eyes looked exhausted.

"Marquis Song has already taken over protecting the children and Junior Mills is happily with them but Lord Emerald Immortal is not far away. He has had to stop her a few times when her emotions got too strong. I also can confirm she has little to no control from my own experiences." His opinion held a lot as he had barely mastered Battle Aura himself.

It was a difficult path to follow and in his case had been an accident more than intentional. It took centuries of dedicated training to even attempt it.

In the entirety of the Rubyfire Kingdom, Gilgamesh was the only person with it!

He could only list 3 other people that have it but he had no idea if they were even alive as they were ancient masters when he was a boy!

"I explained that and many of our war masters agree it would be too dangerous to leave her without training. Father wants you to do it but even they stated that an Immortal Crystal Tier with such skill could hardly be compared to you. In other words, the Emerald Immortal is our best shot." The prince downed the drink.

"Your Highness, what did your elder sister say?" It was his fear that the First Princess, currently the most likely heir, would interfere in such a touchy affair. The 5th Prince poured a new drink and was silent.

It said it all.

She was coming.

A tired sigh left Gilgamesh as it meant there was likely going to be a schism if things could not be improved.

"What did Piercer of the Veil Immortal say?" The prince actually coughed and his liquor spilled onto the stone table top. The reaction was odd but he quickly recovered.

"She tried several times but the Emerald Immortal is opaque to her techniques. He exists and has strong Fate but it is hidden from her. She said she had only felt something like it once before when a Divine Beast was visiting our kingdom. She could not touch on such a powerful being." Heaven was reluctant to share its secrets.

The fact she could not see Emerald Immortal in a similar way meant his Fate was just as powerful as a Divine Beast!

That was not all. His wife was obscured heavily but she saw what looked like a draconic tiger staring back at her from the shadows when looking at her!

His other companions sounded far more normal but how could they be?!

"Have you ever heard of a rogue cultivator with such a broad foundation and skill set, Gilgamesh?" The man put a hand to his chin and really considered all he had seen in his life.

"My master once taught me about such beings and they were usually Immortals that had left powers behind. It could be because they had a falling out but more likely they had outgrown them. Without strong ties or benefits, Immortals need to move on to advance. Opportunities for them are much harder in the present as you well know highness." The prince nodded but then looked frustrated.

"Where are all these talented Immortals coming from?! A powerful beast woman and her human husband and that Triple Maester that practically fought a one man war against the bloodline array and the forces behind it! He practically raised an army overnight!" Gilgamesh could only nod in agreement.

That Triple Maester had offended the Divine Sword Sect and other powers before his departure but the Heavenly Maiden Sect offered its protection for some reason none knew. It was a headache their kingdom did not need but now they had their own!

"Lady Piercer of the Veil Immortal, you are sure Emerald Immortal is not Maester Taren Cord?" Gilgamesh heard her sigh as she emerged from behind a set of ornate screens with a mural of the first king slaying a silver roc.

Her eyes were now covered by a crimson blindfold but her robes remained violet mostly. Her hair was tied back with a simple leather tong today.

"I know a human from a beast and that man is human completely. Illusions and even soul projections cannot hide from my sight. Also the aura that terrorized Song City was nothing like his. The same person cannot have 2 different auras that I cannot tell the difference." He bowed low but then asked his next question.

"Is it possible Maester Taren Cord and Emerald Immortal are related? The Dao title seems like a reference to Maester Cord." That made the pair sigh but shake their heads.

"We thought the same but if so, why would they separate? Further, Maester Cord can tear through space. He has no need of a wagon so why bother?" Gilgamesh frowned at such reasoning but he had no proof.

Still, he kept the thought in the back of his mind. He would try to find out more information about Maester Taren Cord but the information was limited and having the protection of the Heavenly Maiden Sect would make information brokers reluctant to incur their wrath.

Their vengeance was legendary.

"Do you think the Emerald Immortal will keep his word?" The Prince asked them both but Gilgamesh could only shrug.

"He has so far but the real question is can we do anything to stop if he decides to leave with her?" Both men then turned to the only other person they could ask.

She took a seat as she poured herself some tea.

"I cannot see anything about him, but Junior Mills is a different matter. I can tell you this much. There are 3 paths ahead of her. Down 1 she dies after desperately trying to live. I suspect that is the path to be feared as I see a pile of corpses and the fall of our kingdom as well. Another is a life of chains so strong they bury her and her soul dies before she reaches the Diamond Tier." Those grim possibilities left both men grim.

The first was likely a path of Mills trying to learn on her own and causing so much damage they tried to stop her. Battle Aura was so insane at her level that few would expect it to be more powerful than her realm.

By contrast, she had no control so it would differentiate friend from foe.

"The final path is the one that troubles me. We are involved but she does not bow to the king. There is only 1 being she bows to but I cannot see them. It is not the Emerald Immortal. The being I see makes me terrified to the core of my soul. Nothing can stop it. If we defy her on that path, we fall as well." She was sweating as she spoke which stunned both men.

"A great change is coming, Highness. I suspect the new Immortals are just the start and we are seeing the Heavens move pieces on the great board of Fate. Please tell his Majesty to at least trust the Emerald Immortal to train her to be safe. He has already demonstrated willingness for others on that front." The 5th Prince nodded.

"So I say again, what do we have to bargain with? Is there something he wants or materials he needs?" Gilgamesh laughed as he nodded.

"He says he is looking for a place called the inverted mountain." Both men were about to move on when the shattering of porcelain was heard. They swiveled to see the Piercer of the Veil Immortal pale as a ghost!

"NO ONE MUST GO THERE EVER! IT IS NOT AN OPTION!" The 5th Prince frowned but Gilgamesh was the one to speak up.

"The only reason Lord Emerald Immortal agreed to help us was for that information in the first place and his Majesty already promised to give it to him." The 5th Prince confirmed Gilgamesh's words but she tossed the entire tea pot with a wave of her aura!

Both men collapsed under her strength!

"IDIOTS! NO ONE CAN GO THERE! NO ONE!" Her eyes suddenly began to glow which scared the daylights out of both men. It meant her power was about to truly manifest when a more powerful aura crushed hers to nothing.

"You might wish to calm yourself, Piercer of the Veil Immortal. My husband is a generous sort but I am not. Keep your promise or explain your denial right now." The partial beast woman suddenly appeared inside the royal suite?!

"H–how did you get in here?" The 5th Prince was having to pick himself up but stayed calm. The woman's black and emerald eyes turned to look at him in amusement before pointed at the shadows under the windows.

"You should modify your wards for more mundane things like simple demonic Arts. We have a demon in our company that could pull off a similar feat with east and he is only a Sky Realm!" He took her warning to heart but then could only watch as she cornered his companion.

"No one can go there, I will die before letting anyone–" She was trying to use her Qi but the woman stopped her.

"Not even if it was to end the Corruption?" The question made the room freeze. It seemed that made Piercer of the Veil Immortal pause in thought.

"How do you know about this?" Before anyone could move, the women were across the room as a black scaled tiger claw slammed into the wall.

"Are you telling me you know the source of the Corruption and have done nothing?!" Her skin was now covered in black scales as her fur grew as well. "You are coming with me now."

Before either man could blink, they vanished as if neither had been in the room before. The 5th Prince panicked but Gilgamesh held him back.

"Calm yourself, highness. Lord Emerald Immortal has already proven to be an even handed man. He protects the innocent but does not kill to do so. She will be fine." Gilgamesh prayed to the spirits he was right but he wanted to know too.

Why did one of their court seem to know so much about a place he had not heard of until Lord Emerald Immortal asked about it? What was going on?
