Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1103 - 1102 - Sorry, She is Mine Now

Chapter 1103 - 1102 - Sorry, She is Mine Now

Lind was with Chu in finer robes than they had worn previously. His were still gray but Chu had chosen to go with black to match her fur and bestial traits. Her pale beauty stood out but Lind, even in his human form, was not bad either.

His dark green eyes looked serious as he glanced at the third member of their party. Mills was in tan robes as her red hair was done up beautifully into a bun on the back with 2 jade sticks holding it in place.

Her makeup was restrained as her round face was fine as it was. It was going to be a long night for Lind no matter what.

A carriage pulled up outside the Golden Vermillion Inn and Gilgamesh hopped out with a smile.

"My apologies this took so long but I am sure you heard part of the issues we faced." Lind bowed low at that. He was all at fault!

"Your lady wife is gorgeous, Lord Emerald Immortal. Truly fitting to be at your side!" Chu immediately smiled wide while Lind had to suppress an eyeroll. She was going to be preening about that later!

Still, it was hard to argue with how wonderful she looked. Jur and Nana had worked hard with some of the orphan girls on both Chu and Mills.

"I have one more coming with us but I request you do not ask many questions, Lord Gilgamesh. It is better to discuss this with the envoys." Gilgamesh frowned but did not ask.

They entered the carriage and discussed recent events. The Marquis was still looking for the missing orphanage but at the moment he was more worried how a powerful Immortal beast got into his city and seemingly left.

Chu flinched but Lind just sighed. He had made a real mess of it!

Lind relayed he had had a productive time and confirmed the matter about a World Realm tribulation at his suite. Gilgamesh was pleased but then confused.

The only World Realm was Oz who was at the Diamond Tier. He should be facing a Sky Realm tribulation should he not? He did not press and they swiftly made their way into the city palace.

It was a long and beautiful set of gardens inside the inner wall of the city. Lind saw it was mostly decorative but a few trees and brush were useful in alchemy or elixirs. There was no doubt an official herb garden somewhere in the grounds.

The palace itself was a 4 tiered affair with sharply slanted roofs in the color of bright red. Each surface was emblazoned with the jewel in flames to mark it as the center of authority in Song City.

He saw a few more soldiers patrolling but no more than usual for such a large place.

A formal line of soldiers saluted them as they passed until they joined another group of carriages at a semi-circular entrance way. The white stone used everywhere was as pristine as always but here it was laced with Law Grade inscriptions.

Lind even felt Law Bindings that were separate from the purification defenses he had become used to.

Both Chu and Mills shivered but he felt nothing. He looked confused at Gilgamesh but that man too shivered. What was going on?

"A simple security sweep. Always bothers my teeth when I feel it." Lind was truly confused as he had felt nothing. What was it sweeping for?

"Ah your badge exempts you as it is tied to your soul. It is your identity so there is no need to confirm it, Lord Emerald Immortal." A flash of understanding and gratitude to his masters came to him.

His appearance was his own but it was a façade that could be breached with such a powerful Law Binding.

The door swung outward and the 4 of them found themselves facing a stairwell leading up to the wide entrance of the palace. Lind could make out some music and laughter as a butler escorted them inside.

Lind felt prying senses looking at him but nothing too rude. He also felt at least 2 Crystal Tiers nearby but both were lower than him.

"War Master Gilgamesh and Emerald Immortal with guests have arrived!" The massive hall they entered was full of people, nobles Lind recognized after scanning the city and new faces he saw wearing the burning jewel on their breasts openly.

That was the envoys no doubt. There was a man and woman talking with an older gentleman in maroon robes that had to be the Marquis Song. Gilgamesh was whispering a few things but Lind bowed low in greeting which endeared him to the crowd.

The smell of good food was coming from somewhere but Lind ignored it as the 4 of them headed straight for the trio at the other side of the room. None dared impede them either.

"Ah, Gilgamesh. I had heard but it is good to see you so young again! Father will be happy!" The man spoke up first. He had on fine clothes with jewel in flames bright on his left breast. Lind felt it was an artifact at the peak of grade 7.

The man had pink eyes and dark red hair with tanned features but based on that alone Lind knew he was a prince of the kingdom. The woman with him was in violet robes but had a higher cultivation than the prince!

The marquis and woman were both Crystal Tiers! The prince was a Sun Tier but only at the very beginning of it.

The woman had a binding over her eyes of violet cloth. Lind felt like she was trying to see through him but his harmony flared unexpectedly. A weaver? Her hair was tied into braids but the color shifted from black to violet.

Her skin was paler than Chu's but he was not sure if it was natural or an effect of her cultivation technique.

"The 5th Prince is kind! I did not expect to have a second chance given to me but I am so happy to be able to serve the king once again!" The prince laughed in true joy which made Lind only feel more guilty!

"Highness, our guest seems troubled. Perhaps you should greet him." The prince turned to Lind who bowed low.

"I greet the 5th Prince of the Rubyfire Kingdom. I also greet Marquis Song and thank him for his hospitality. I request a private moment if possible." The 2 were surprised but nodded and pointed to a door that was connected to the hall. Gilgamesh bowed out to entertain the crowd while Chu joined him.

She seemed really happy with him and he prayed for Gilgamesh's sanity in the conversation to come.

Mills followed the trio with him and they entered a room with a servant ready to serve tea and treats. The Marquis sent them away as they all took a seat.

"First, I must apologize for my altercation with the late Baron Valeri. I could not stand aside when a child was hurt but it was presumptuous for me to interfere." Marquis Song waved it off and explained the results of his investigation. It relieved a little of his guilt to know that.

"As to the next matter, I must deeply apologize that recent events were my fault. The 2 boys I saved came from the missing orphanage. He had one of his party watch the area and found the Count attacking it among other things.

Things escalated quickly and his party took the orphanage away in worry of retaliation.

"So that beast is one of your party members?" Lind nodded but said nothing. He only apologized again as he explained the Oath the baron gave. Marquis Song became incensed that it was clear how the Oath was broken.

The baron could have prevented the issue by informing the Marquis but did not, thus an Oath was broken. His death, however, was confirmed to be done by the former Minister of Finances.

"I am glad you so freely admit and clear up this issue. My lord Father was concerned about such a powerful beast. How does its aura work so well in the Corruption?" Lind sighed and explained it was not normal. It had access to 6 primary elements and it seemed to be immune to the Corruption because of it.

It was not technically a lie but he did not reveal his harmony obviously.

"I should point out it primarily only acts as a guardian and when things spiraled about the Oath, it acted. I apologize humbly and will happily return the orphans and the building." The trio seemed pleased but then Lind dropped a formation plate on the table between them.

A new ward sprung up that isolated them even further.

"I must now tell you the difficult part. Junior Mills, please stand up." Mills did so and the trio looked confused until the Marquis Song paled.

"I present to you the owner of the Yin Nurturing Physique. She is awakened now. It was entirely an accident!" Lind bowed low but the prince smiled wide.

"That is excellent news! If she is awakened, she can be of great aid to the kingdom!" The woman with the blindfold seemed troubled.

"Lord Emerald Immortal, is there an issue?' Lind nodded and then also stood up.

"Show them." Mills swallowed hard and then ice condensed with various weapons until her Battle Aura appeared directed at Lind. His own aura rose a bit but they all felt the pair covered in Battle Auras.

"If any of you are proficient in weapons, please manifest your intent or aura." The trio did so but then narrowed their eyes.

"It is like I can feel something but I am denied!" The prince was frustrated but the Marquis paled even more.

"Battle Aura! How?!" Lind relayed the sequence of events but then the prince sent the woman to summon Gilgamesh. The man came in confused but the instant he saw Mills, he manifested a very weak Battle Aura!

"My cultivation has just advanced!" It was confirmation but then Mills stopped as she looked tired. Why was she tired when she seemed inexhaustible when it came to Lind? He suspected it was because he needed very little from her but Gilgamesh needed far more.

"How can we possibly use that?!" The 5th Prince was frustrated but Lind only looked at him in pity.

"I am sorry, your highness, but she is mine now." Dead silence filled the room as all stared at him in shock.
