Chapter 1102 - 1101 - Accidental Awakening

Chu was with Lind as he tried to awaken Mills. He had no need to attempt dual cultivating or other direct methods the bastards already tried.

He instead tried to start with the mystery of her stagnating cultivation. He had her cultivate in front of him and observed the flow of Qi to her 3 fonts.

He saw water, air, and earth steadily fused into the nearly saturated iron core in her dantian. There was no obstruction nor sign of bottleneck at all yet she did not advance.

He spoke with her about the elements, her Dao comprehension, and various aspects of cultivation. She was remarkably quick and loved to learn. Just like the orphans she raised, she was very intelligent and adaptive.

He taught her his elemental theory which did improve her cultivation and elements massively. Still, there was no sign of pending tribulation nor even that the iron core advanced!

She was training with Chu in combat as she sorely lacked such skills. She showed no preference of weapons but she absorbed the knowledge like a sponge when he had a thought occur to him.

"Mills, have you ever heard of weapon intent?" Chu paused the training as both were a bit tired at that point. The girl pondered and nodded.

"The various refiners and Forgers talk about it when preparing to make something. I remember helping in the Fires of Fame and Fortune shop that a client was a sword aura user so his weapon needed to accommodate that." He was glad she knew about the existence of them and had her assume a lotus position.

He had her cultivate as he described intent, aura, and how various weapons could be combined to create a more profound version to cover them. Spears, halberds, and glaives, for instance, could be combined to create a more powerful aura with all 3 of their intents.

She slowly nodded but hearing about it was not enough. Lind knew he had to let her observe as he summoned various training weapons. He and Chu then battled as humans in front of her.

Glows covered the weapons but between the 2, Mills focused on him. Her dark eyes seemed mesmerized by his movements despite both Immortals showing various intents.

Lind swapped between swords, spears, war hammers, and so forth to demonstrate all kinds of intent and auras to her. HIs Battle Aura was a part of it but would only manifest if he used something like Protean or manifested weapons with his harmony.

The pair paused as they felt a shift in the air. Lind looked over stunned that Mills was in the middle of enlightenment!

"Well, it was about time–" Before he could finish the thought her dantian advanced! The fonts began to glow with golden traces! She was going to break through right there!

He moved faster than even Chu could follow as he took her to the open courtyard. It was exposed to the sky and the children jumped as black clouds began to gather above them.

"CLEAR OUT NOW!" His voice got them to move while Bori, Lan, and Jur swiftly moved to erect formation barriers. The suites came with functions to allow tribulations at that level without issue.

Still, Lind felt like the tribulation was odd.

He felt something familiar in it but it was impossible.

He only had time to set her down and move before the first bolt of lightning fell. She never even moved but an aura flared around her! He knew that aura!

How could she have a Battle Aura after only watching a single fight?!

He used his Law Eyes and felt another shock as he saw her meridians and body were changing in profound ways. She was not a warrior in any sense of the word but now her body was being optimized!

It was not a question of purification, something was directing the fitness of her body using the tribulation itself!

Further bolts fell but he felt the change above. The Heavens felt angry. Her dark eyes snapped open but it was like an ancient beast was looking out of her. Her movements were damned familiar as she used the Battle Aura to fight her way through the tribulation.

With each strike, she became more powerful! He had never seen a tribulation like it!

The aura above finally manifested fully! Lind looked up and saw lightning take the shape of a man but it was unlike anything he faced in his own tribulations. Was it because he was a progenitor and had to face dragons?

She actually shot into the sky! Her red hair flew in the air as the weight of the tribulation strained the formations! The formations were rated to withstand a Sky Realm tribulation but a Gold Tier was breaking them?!

It was the Battle Aura. She was facing a tribulation for the Battle Aura itself!

He could only look on as she finally was hurt but her face never wavered as she used her fists and her elements to create various weapons like she was a one woman army! She was exhausting her Qi but the foe was bottomless!

She was going to lose!

A thought occurred to him at that point. He could not interfere but he could talk!

"MILLS! AWAKEN! You have to awaken or you will never see the children again!" His words pierced whatever enlightenment she was going through. She screamed as blood poured from her orifices like a river.

The children were weeping but he could only spare a thought to her. A grade 4 elixir appeared in his hand to be ready for afterward.

Her body suddenly seemed to suck the moisture out of the air. Ice appeared around her in the form of new weapons and combined with her aura. It worked!

It was a shot in the dark but it worked!

Her body, already optimized for combat, added water and air into ice like it was simplicity itself! The lightning being was weakening fast as the tribulation finally came to an end!

A restorative shaft of light let her fall gently but he could tell she was exhausted. As soon as she was on the ground he moved to administer the elixir. He could feel the chill in her body but it was easing up quickly.

His Eyes confirmed not only was her physique awakened but her Battle Aura was nearly on par with his own! How was that possible?! She was only a Gold Tier!

He also confirmed Qi was flowing into her like a flood. Her dantian was greedy but it was stable. Her long period of stagnation had made a firm foundation to rise upon.

He saw his contact with the Inn had arrived but he ignored her for the moment as he made sure Mills stabilized. In all the tribulations he had witnessed for a Gold Tier, he had seen nothing like what just happened.

Even his own troublesome tribulations were scarier but he had so many unique conditions piled one atop the other it was expected. She just had a single physique but it was that powerful?!

"Honored guest, while a tribulation is fine, could you explain what just happened?" He shook his head and his honest confusion made her mystified as well. Her golden eyes were about to probe when 2 emerald reptilian eyes snapped up at her. She flinched but bowed low in apology.

"I beg pardon, my curiosity got the better of me. We will deal with any inquiries." She left as quickly as she arrived.

"Husband, what was that?" He just shook his head. He had some guesses but it would take some tests to confirm.

It took until nightfall for Mills to wake up which made the children celebrate. She smiled warmly and spoke with them until she saw Lind waiting. She sent them to bed and followed him back to his room.

Chu was there with him so she felt safe.

"How much do you remember?" He saw her look differently at him. There was a reverence that had been missing before.

"Everything, Master." She then knelt on the ground as a disciple would to their Master on greeting. A headache built up behind his eyes but he dismissed it for the moment.

"How do you have my Battle Aura?" She looked up and seemed to grapple with the words. It was like having to explain breathing. A person just knew to do it and it was how she described the feeling in her body watching them fight.

"A piece that was missing fell into place and I just knew I had what I needed. The rest was like I had waited all my life to unleash what was within me." Lind had never heard of such a thing but he could not deny what he saw.

"Do you know how your physique works now?" She nodded but then frowned.

"I do not think the kingdom will be happy." He cocked his head to the side and waved for her to continue. "It would be better to show you, Master."

She then stood up and ice condensed to make various weapons until she had her Battle Aura appear. The instant it did, Lind felt like his own cultivation surged!

"One moment." Lind closed his eyes and then Ranger knocked to enter. He looked confused but waited for an explanation until Mills turned her aura on him. He felt afraid but LInd noticed his cultivation did not budge at all.

"Oh crap." His reaction surprised them all but he understood! By the spirits what good was that?!

"Husband?" Chu was confused as she felt nothing but Lind did not want to say it aloud. Mills had no such compunction.

"My physique only works in combat against other Battle Aura masters." Chu froze and then looked at Lind who knew he looked defeated.

"Unless the Celestial Fields have better methods, Battle Aura takes centuries to learn and that assumes one has the ability to make intent in the first place." The Ruin he faced was likely created for that very purpose but would such a profound facility grow on trees?

Most cultivators focused on a single class of weapon. They might use others as needed but very few would pursue the Battle Aura due to its difficulty.

"What happens now?" Ranger asked the question Lind least wanted to answer. He sighed and looked up at the sky.

"I try to prevent a war." He then asked them all to leave so he could cultivate and think. Why was nothing ever easy?!
