Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1079 - 1078 - Asserting Authority

Chapter 1079 - 1078 - Asserting Authority

Petryn had an area carved out for Maester Cord to meet the dragon representatives. They had apparently had a falling out over his daughter Jur but Teegan only told him the Maester had to resolve it himself.

Petryn knew he was also a dragon from the rumors but that was all. He felt it better not to stick his nose into it!

Lind stood in a simple stone arena as all 12 representatives showed up. They seemed like they would not miss a chance to test him despite being weaker than him. As a group, they could have been troublesome but with the Corruption, he was far more powerful than them combined.

"True Lord, is it true that–" A voluptuous woman started to speak but all 12 suddenly slammed into the ground as he only looked at them. No aura was coming off him, all they could smell was anger coming off of him.

Teegan and Chu were behind him but neither moved. Jur was currently standing next to him. They tried to speak but found they had no voices! How was it possible?!

"I am a tolerant man. I am a patient man. You have to be these things to make any progress as a professional." His voice was calm but all flinched as he began to pace. The crunch of dirt beneath his boots was louder than anything else when he was not speaking.

Elements began to dance around him in complex patterns as sigils appeared. The profound patterns made some strain just to see them but they quickly vanished.

"Weaving alone requires immense patience and endurance. The danger and risk cannot be underestimated. I am a mid Law Grade Weaver. I am a high Law Grade Elixir Master. I am a low Law Grade Forger. I have confirmed these certifications and kept all 3 professions in roughly the same range. Do we doubt my words?" Lind did not even allow them to respond.

Chu and Jur both swished their tales swiftly as Teegan shivered.

A long sigh came from Lind as he calmed himself before turning back to look at the beings in front of him.

"Do you know what I do to those that cross my family? Do you need to imagine it or would you like to see it?" Images suddenly appeared in midair!

Anyone that knew Lind would be shocked to see the images as they were memories! HIs memories! The Tri Clan Tournament to sacrificing himself for Ethry to nearly dying to destroy the Realm Refiner.

It was his highlights to be sure but also the parts of his life directly related to how far he would go for his family. He would not compromise. The images then cleared as it showed a new sequence.

It was the fall of the Kingdom of Altair. He showed the entirety of what he had done and the dragons blanched at the knowledge they were shown.

They were facing a being that had destroyed an entire kingdom for the sake of his family!

"Dragons pride themselves quite a bit but I have no need for your damn pride. All I care about is my family and friends. Thus far, none of you have done a damn thing to show friendship. You have been arrogant, dismissive, and finally, idiotic!" Green flames flared briefly to disperse the images.

Lind finally released them with a single mental command. He had purely held them by his authority as a True Lord of Dragons. Within his own species, he was essentially a God.

The fact the Heavens did not so much as rumble at him told him he was well within his authority as well.

"TRUE LORD! You cannot claim this weakling as–" The muscle bound man thrust out his arm only to have it vanish. Silence descended as blood flew in the air and the arm was in Lind's left hand.

He had not moved! They had felt no Qi but something had cut the arm off!

"In case I was not clear, you are not here for a discussion. I am here to tell you how things will proceed. My family is my family. Your opinion is not required nor desired. You are free to stay here so long as you pay the inn and do not break the laws of the Fionan Empire." His cold tone was coupled with his fierce emerald eyes. His crimson robes seemed like blood at that moment, the blood of anyone foolish enough to defy him!

"May I speak, True Lord?" A lithe woman in pale red robes raised her hand. He nodded at her. "How can a dragon, even one with a wife like Priestess Chu, have a daughter that is only a tiger? She is not of your blood, True Lord, so why do you acknowledge her?" Lind narrowed his eyes but he felt no disrespect to Jur.

"Husband, you have to tell them what kind of ruler you wish to be." Chu suddenly spoke and he turned to her. In her dark eyes he saw complete trust. Jur was waving her tail back and forth as she smiled at him.

Teegan merely bowed low to him and he sighed.

"I see. So that is the problem." Lind looked up and finally felt Heaven rumble but he suspected it was in amusement.

He closed his eyes before a man with dark skin and tan robes suddenly appeared kneeling next to him.

"Master, do not strain yourself. The various tribes cannot dictate anything to you." The dragons and Chu instantly knelt to Haro. They instinctively knew what he was.

"Haro, I am done with assumptions and pestering. I have bigger things to deal with and I want it to stop." Haro nodded and smirked up at him. He then pointed at the ring.

"Since we are in higher realms, I have more functions at your disposal. Due to your unique constitution, I am able to recover far better than before. Please use me." Lind looked at the black ring and noticed the dragon on it shimmered.

He felt new knowledge flow into his mind and a smile finally crossed his face.

"You could have told me about this sooner." Haro shrugged at him.

"As you said, there were more important things to do." Lind nodded at that statement. There had indeed been far more important things.

"Well then, please convey my authority." The instant he spoke, the black ring lit up with emerald light as a massive dragon appeared in the sky not only over Crescent City but over every place a dragon stood!

Across the entire 2nd layer all the dragons felt their blood boil as the sinuous dragon solidified with 3 horns, a large mane, and 4 massive limbs. The power made them proud to be alive to see it!

The tainted Qi thinned considerably suddenly but that was all.

Still, it was another massive change in the layer in less than a year and all Immortals looked up in awe at where the dragon appeared.

[To all that can hear my voice. I am forever making it clear to all of you I will never create an empire of dragons. We all live in this place and are currently under threat from the Corruption. If you try to waste my time with useless politics or asserting your superiority–I will kill you where you stand.]

While many were confused, the older Immortals felt shock flood their bodies as they realized what they were seeing.

Before anyone could react or respond, 12 bolts of lighting slammed outward across areas known to be ruled by various dragon tribes. The emerald eyes narrowed coldly as the dragon looked down at the surface.

[Your defiance is noted.]

A shiver passed through many dragons or those with dragon blood in their veins.

[My purpose is to purge the Corruption and move on. I have no desire to indulge your greed. If you want to test me, come see me yourselves.]

The dragon then vanished from the skies.

Lind felt weak for a moment and his dantian flickered to warn him he was near his limits entirely but he felt immensely better in his spirit.

The 12 representatives had seen what he did and looked pale. All their ancestors had roared in defiance of Lind's words and had been struck down like children!

It was only at that moment that they all grasped that their True Lord had been indulging them to that point! Haro sneered as he vanished back into the ring.

"My authority is now clear, yes?" The 12 nodded quickly before fleeing from his sight.

It was only when they were gone that Lind stumbled and Chu caught him on one side while Jur was on the other.

"You did not need to sink to their level but that was quite thrilling, Husband!" Lind smiled at Chu's excitement but looked at the worried Jur.

"You did nothing wrong. No one messes with my family so long as I draw breath." She blushed and smiled up at him adorably.

"True Lord, I will not say that was unwise but they really might come to see you now. These will not be weaklings like a Sliver or Shard Tier but Crystal Tiers with millions of years of experience and power behind them." She seemed worried but he smiled at her.

"Just worry about your family and I will worry about the rest. Petryn is probably panicking so please go reassure him the only way a wife can." A deep crimson blush spread on her face as she bowed low to him.

Her family was blessed by the True Lord! Dragons could not ask for more! Her unborn child was growing inside her and she nearly sprinted to go be with her husband to be!

Lind let his own cart him off back to his tower where he could recover. Katara would give birth soon and he had to be ready. There was still so much to do and time seemed to be slipping away too quickly!
