Chapter 1073 - 1072 - Deliverance
Chapter 1073 - 1072 - Deliverance
The Heavens were fair.
It was a fact all cultivators spoke on but few truly accepted. The problem was how most living beings defined fair.
Fair meant that all should be equally able to progress or should have the same opportunities offered to them simply by the virtue of being a cultivator. There were endless armies of young masters that believed fair only applied to them and no other.
When death came for them, they screamed quite often about it being unfair.
They were not alone when it came to death or being stuck at a cultivation realm. If the Heavens were fair, why were they not able to be like the genius disciple or the unprecedented spirit blessed person that sailed through cultivation realms as easily as one walked?
It was often invoked when any of the cultivators asked why they struggled but even the old masters shared the frustration of their followers.
It was a very small minority that understood what it actually meant.
The Heavens were fair to those that worked for it. They were fair to those that grasped opportunities when they found them. They were fair in that bloodlines could combine to produce a genius never before seen in millions of years.
The fairness meant all these things could exist without hindrance. All chances, history, and effort were not ignored. It was just that some had to put forth more effort or fully grasp the obstacles in front of them.
Nothing was handed to anyone, not ever.
Karma had to be earned whether as retribution or restitution. Comprehension was not just offered up on a silver platter for all. The secrets of Dao had to be found and studied to advance.
Every living thing had strengths and weaknesses.
The fairness meant nothing was impossible but not all were able to do what they wished. There was no indulgence of Heaven.
All that was true but the Divine Bloodlines were often accused of being favorites. The fact such bloodlines existed, even after epochs had passed, spoke of inherent favoritism to many.
The truth was far from that. Divine Bloodlines were simply welcomed as they were as close as living beings could come to being one with Heaven and Earth while still alive. Tribulations were celebrations but for all the benefits, Divine Bloodlines rarely knew peace.
Other races could find a balance and relaxation to their lives. Divine Bloodlines were always sought out and never left in peace by others. Hunting for parts, stealing the benefits of their blood, or simply wanting to tear them down would plague them for all their existence.
Their families and descendants would suffer the same fate unless they had a solid foundation to protect them in place.
It was why they were so powerful. They had to constantly be on guard against all other beings!
So, in the end, the Heavens are fair.
It was why invoking its wrath was extraordinary unwise. Breaking the rules or taking shortcuts to bypass the restrictions of Heaven and Earth had consequences.
Minor infractions would only require minor responses. The buildup of negative karma was usually the most common result. It would make it harder to survive tribulations as a result thus paying a very steep price indeed.
The more infractions would pile on until death was the best outcome a violator could hope for.
The larger the infraction, however, the steeper the response. Voids of Heaven, by themselves, were not an infraction. There were those that could use Heaven's Secrets to try and see things like a spy or thief, but a Void of Heaven would prevent that.
Normally, as it would be expected, the use of Voids of Heaven were for far more nefarious uses. The issue was the Heavens truly were blinded and thus punishments could only be assessed once it was stripped away.
It meant any shortcuts could be taken or rules broken with almost complete impunity. Anything that left traces on a cultivator would be found out and karma invoked but the acts themselves would be hidden.
It was a way to mitigate punishments.
Thus, Lind found a way to let Heaven and Earth use his body to see inside the Void of Heaven. The entrance was open to the air but his harmony allowed a way in for it to see what was within!
The once clear skies across the 2nd layer changed instantly. The tainted Qi tried to oppose it but the Wrath of Heaven had no way to be stopped. If the 2nd layer was resisting, it would pull on the higher layers!
The issue was something was obstructing it from reaching the 3rd layer. Strain built up but the power could not pierce the restriction!
Since above did not work, it looked below and found something stunning.
A barely porous barrier was in the way yet the shocking thing was golden Qi that was entirely absent in the 2nd Layer was growing below.
Celestial Qi easily passed through and connected with the desire of Heaven's Wrath only to change its nature. The Qi shifted the focus of the Wrath as emerald slowly spread outward from the bloodline array eye.
The Wrath, once prepared to obliterate the various dark crimson veins across the layer, now focused on the emerald node instead.
It slammed lighting down into the stone and exposed it to the open air. The flesh anchor lit up with emerald light was then exposed with Lind collapsed on the black bridge. Pressure built until golden beams flew down into the bloodline array eye.
It fused with the emerald Qi and made it explode outward even faster than the eye could follow. The entire 2nd layer was shocked as dark crimson veins appeared all around them only to become emerald a few moments later.
"What is happening?" Jur could see what was happening but the effect on their enemies was clear too. They were panicking while her mother seemed serene as the Qi bathed her.
Their wards, damaged and barely holding on, were restored instantly for some reason but only the ones tied to a weaving.
"He did it. Maester Cord did it!" War Maiden Katara smiled as she watched the projections change in front of her.
The many powers were incensed to find a bloodline array inside their borders but none could explain the shift to emerald all reported to them. The array eyes screamed in the minds of all near them but no one died.
The emerald Qi seemed to prevent it.
The only group that recognized the aura roared to the skies in joy.
[THE TRUE LORD HAS TAKEN ACTION! ALL HAIL THE TRUE LORD!] Dragon tribes scared their neighbors or even sent them running away from whatever they were so active about.
The bloodline array finally became completely converted and was turned on its creators! The Fiend facility had to use all its defenses as pressure began to build at the heart of the array still inside it!
"Destroy it! Break it now!" A Fiend male screamed at his colleagues but nothing they did helped! The emerald Qi infiltrated their level before cracks formed around them! The Qi was inimical to their Qi! It converted it to natural Qi!
Why was it so powerful?!
The heart of the array finally filled with emerald Qi and a dragon appeared at the heart of it! It had massive emerald eyes with a giant maw opening wide to reveal a ball of emerald flames!
The pressure of Heaven and Earth hit them all as the flames wiped them from the world! The entire building was destroyed but the tunnel connecting it had already been collapsed by the female Fiend in charge of the other complex.
She looked on as the emerald Qi spread until it came to the collapsed section and stopped progressing. It took a day for it to vanish and it left nothing tied to Fiend Qi behind.
"I want all our spies to report in about what just happened. Any rumor, no matter how unrelated, will be sent back to me. I want this emerald dragon found and I want them dead." Her hourglass figure walked down a dark corridor as others moved to obey her orders.
The loss of the array meant many of the main communication lines were broken but it was hardly their only network. They were just slower.
She came to the casket halls and looked down at the darkened areas. The enemy eliminating their bases was now revealed. She would find them and she would kill them!
Far back across the realm, Lind slowly opened his eyes to a blue sky and sunlight shifting to orange as the orb began to set. Ranger was standing over him but looking at the flesh anchor.
Actually he was looking at where it used to be! The heart and anchor were gone! There was no destruction, they were just gone!
He looked around the cavern and saw all the veins were gone as well. All that remained was the stone itself. The hollows and openings remained as well but nothing else.
"Master, um, my communication jade suddenly started working a lot better than before. We, um, won the battle." Lind slowly took it in and let his senses gingerly stretch out.
It was gone! The bloodline array was gone!
"He, he, he–ha! HA! HA HA!" Lind began to laugh as he fell back onto the bridge and Ranger looked down at him. The sect wars were over!
They had won!
