Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1032 - 1031 - Escaping Infinity

Chapter 1032 - 1031 - Escaping Infinity

Infinity was not a concept most people truly grasped. The main reason being that so far as existence went, it was not possible. In order for something to exist, it had to have a beginning and thus an end.

True infinity would be something like time. While there is a past, present, and future, it could be argued that time exists independent of space. It was always there and perhaps always would be.

It was the only thing Lind could think of but the current garden he was walking through tested his understanding. There was quite literally no sign of a border or end. It was sectioned off with an actual forest at certain points!

Time had become a bit fluid from him as well as he was no longer sure what time it was. The issue was sometimes things like Verdant Flame Dew needed dark places to really thrive so he actually found a section in permanent night!

The plant literally had burning petals that lit up the area thus more nutrients came its way from other plants! They wanted to bask in its light in the eternal darkness!

He also found signs of other worlds! There was a green desert in one with 3 moons! Younger Twin was stunned that he could talk about them but did not elaborate on where they were.

Apparently it was only something Divine Realms could usually grasp.

The green desert had some kind of violet bush that his own experience told him was an alchemic herb. He was intensely curious but he could not harvest anything!

He saw grade 7 Steel Magnolias, actual metal plants that were ideal for cultivation of the body pills or elixirs!

They had 5 petals that shone with reflected sunlight in the midst of a sea of green grass and were notorious in all the texts to be a pain to nurture! It required an actual mix of fire and earth Qi to create an ideal environment in the soil while using ore to combine with normal magnolia seeds!

He had no success himself and he had really tried!

It was one incredible resource taunting him after another and not a single one could be taken. The simple reason was that while he had gained access, he was only a Crystal Tier!

He had to be a Sovereign Tier to actually get anything!

How could that be the requirement?! It was the step just before becoming a Divine Realm!

Younger Twin assured him Inheritances like his were highly sought after. The garden alone was just as enthralling for a Divine Realm as it was to Lind.

He could believe it and the rarity of all the items made it clear why. Young Twin had created a place that could accommodate anything!

"You said we could leave here but why do I feel like you are giving me a tour?" Younger Twin stroked his chin before smiling.

"I will not lie and say that is part of our journey, but the other part is trying to reach our destination. I am limited in how much I can help you but guiding you to the desired exit is within my power." He frowned at the phrasing. The Divine Will that was in charge of monitoring or acting if a breach was detected was limited in the current situation?

Surely as a Ruin, his authority was expanded?

As if reading his mind, Younger Twin laughed.

"My creator was not that thorough in planning. Not all Inheritances make Ruins and even if they do, there is no way to predict what will survive." He could understand that at least. It also gave him some reassurance that Divine Realms were not all powerful beings.

"So what exactly will I be doing?" He still was not told after an untold amount of time had passed.

Silence descended which never bode well in his experience.

The golden stone path continued without interruption until Younger Twin finally stopped. They were in an area with a larger enclosure than normal. The size was easily a few thousand kilometers but he sensed both beasts and plants within.

It was one of the few mixed environments but it was the largest they had come across thus far.

"So the exit you need is within there." The calm sentence made Lind tilt his head until his mane of emerald hair fell over his shoulders. His crimson robes were a little worse for wear but he had not needed to replace them yet.

Compared to him, most things in the world outside the Ruin could not hurt him easily.

That was not true inside the Ruin at all but the peaceful walk did not prompt him to change either.

"Care to be more elaborate?" Younger Twin grimaced at his question.

"Unfortunately, I cannot. While I can lead you here, the restrictions in place stop me from helping beyond that. It is annoying considering our goal would be in line with my creator. You are too weak to conquer this Ruin but you are the only–" Lind snapped his head to the right as he felt something as well.

The air had shifted briefly but he could not place a reason.

"So, they had tokens from the original students. Damn it!" A new term showed up but he could guess its intent.

"So we have guests?" The Divine Will nodded. It seemed the Fiends and their allies were not messing around. They knew he was a threat and seemed to know more about him than he liked.

The bloodline arrays were not just shifting the world around them but could be used to gather information from their targets?

He really needed more information on that blasted array!

Lind suddenly perked up!

"Master, do you know how to break that array?" Younger Twin turned and seemed to consider something for a moment. His fine robes ruffled in a gentle breeze but the square jawed man looked like he was stuck to him!

"It varies. Considering it was able to envelope the Ruin and avoid detection for so long does not bode well. However, the issues the regular cultivators suffer from so too would the formation eyes. If they were able to continue as they are, they have to be smuggled from the higher realms." That made Lind balk.

He had experienced similar issues in his journey but none of them had ended well if he had to fight them!

The false Ruins came to mind immediately!

"What would they need to keep working?" That seemed an easier question to answer.

"Oh you likely figured that out already. Blood and lots of it. The constant mass deaths would easily not only supply an active amount but leave a healthy reserve. In that sense, your battle was magnificent. You drained an entire forest area dry!" Lind felt better about his battle right then.

"What should I do about our guests then?" Younger Twin shook his head.

"Unlike you, they will have to go through a few trials to catch up but some of them are likely easier than they should be. The tokens will also act like your badge to circumvent some obstacles." It meant they could catch up to him but it would take time.

He looked at the massive preserve in front of him. He could not perceive any exit but then again he had passed many of them with no notice.

"Am I allowed to know how to find the exit?" The Divine Will nodded.

"It is not too difficult. Your badge will react when you are close and finally trigger it once you are in range. Once you are through, you will face a rather special trial. It will be up to you to succeed." Lind nodded but sighed internally. It was always complicated with Inheritances.

"Any final advice?" Younger Twin shook his head.

"Once you cross the threshold, you will be on your own. There is nothing truly dangerous on this side to you. Your draconic aura will keep them away naturally. Also, to be very clear, do not harvest anything inside the forest. It will trigger–" Black lightning suddenly struck far in the distance to make both turn in that direction.

Lind looked at the Divine Will and saw him smirking.

"One of them got lucky but was also greedy. Only 3 are left!" Many questions came to him but he only sighed and bowed.

He pressed his badge on the border of the forest and the world shifted around him. It felt surreal. There was no sensation of moving through space at all!

It was the total opposite of any teleportation he had ever experienced!

The smell of fresh earth and the rot of death filled his nostrils. Sounds of birds, branches creaking, and all forms of an active forest washed over him.

It was invigorating but he already felt the silence grow on his arrival.

He was about to use his badge when his own senses finally felt something they could not before.

His eyes narrowed and he tore through space. It was much easier compared to before yet he also felt like it was much harder to reach the distance he wanted. The contradiction felt odd but informative.

He found himself in a dark area of the forest and a mighty corpse of a snake. It was long dead but still intact due to being a Shard Tier.

He was not sure why it died but it was too vital of a body to be the end of its physical life.

He felt nothing nearby and slowly used his senses to confirm what he felt before. He turned slowly until he came to the head of the beast! At least, where they head seemed to be!

He walked around the massive body and found half of the skull was missing!

"Contain the beasts inside. Nasty." He had not seen such brutal death but the ease of it shocked him more. The beast clearly had no ability to defend itself. His badge was practically shaking as he hit something in midair and the light of Qi lit up before he was pulled away.

It was time to face a trial from a Divine Inheritance!
