Entangled With My Rival CEO

Chapter 116

Chapter 116

Camilla awoke the next morning to the comforting sight of Alexander lying bare under the sheets beside her, softly snoring, his warm chest pressed snugly against hers.

A tender smile spread across her face as she delicately ran her fingers through his tousled bedhead, marveling at the serene expression on his face in slumber.

A sense of peace and contentment enveloped her now that they had reconciled, and she decided to rise without disturbing him.

As she sat up, some of the covers slipped away, revealing a glimpse of her bare body. She stretched luxuriously, stifling a yawn to avoid waking Alexander.

With a graceful glide, she slipped out of bed, shivers dancing across her skin as the chilly air caressed her.

Emitting a soft groan, she fetched a robe from the wall hook and made her way to the bathroom.

Connected to the bathroom was the walk-in closet, and after her bath, she wrapped herself in a large fluffy towel.

Her damp hair hung loosely around her shoulders as she quietly padded into the closet, surveying the neatly hung clothes that belonged to Alexander, she contemplated which attire to choose.

Given the fire incident that had ravaged the residence tower of her own apartment, she assumed most of her belongings would have perished.

While she had contemplated going back to inspect the wreckage for anything salvageable, her concern for Alexander's condition had taken precedence.

Since his admission to the hospital, she had been by his side. With no other clothing except what she had been wearing that fateful night, she had resorted to buying a few essential pieces from nearby stores during his hospitalization.

However, they couldn't replace the comfort and familiarity of her own wardrobe. Now, she decided to explore a different option.

Her gaze landed on an oversized green tee shirt, which she thought would do nicely.

Carefully, she discarded the towel that covered her and slipped the tee-shirt over her damp body, feeling its softness against her skin.

It hung loosely, reaching down to her mid-thigh, giving her a relaxed and cozy feeling.

She searched through the closet for some shorts and soon located a pair of comfortable ones.

Though they matched the green tee shirt she had on, they were a bit loose.

When she put them on, the shorts slipped down her legs due to the significant size difference between hers and Alexander's clothing.

Lucky for her, she spotted a brown leather belt hanging nearby and used it to cinch the shorts at her waist, ensuring they stayed in place.

Satisfied with her choice of clothing, she decided to leave her hair down, allowing the damp locks to cascade freely over her shoulders.

She was finally ready for the day, but before leaving the closet, she took a moment to admire her outfit in the full-length mirror by the soft morning light that streamed through the window.

It carried a hint of Alexander's scent, which provided an oddly comforting feeling.

And although they belonged to him, they seemed to suit her well, and she couldn't help but smile at the sight of her reflection.

With a final glance in the mirror, she exited the closet, her bare feet making only the faintest of sounds on the cool floor as she exited the room so as not to disturb Alexander's peaceful sleep and headed downstairs to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, Camilla stood where the morning sun bathed the room in a warm and inviting glow, creating a serene atmosphere for the day ahead.

Hungry and contemplating what to make for breakfast, her gaze settled on some loaves of bread resting in a breadbox on the kitchen island. The sight of the bread sparked an idea.

With a sense of determination, she decided to prepare a simple yet delicious breakfast.

She fetched a couple of eggs from the refrigerator, a glint of anticipation in her eyes.

She cracked the eggs into a bowl, the sound of the shells breaking filling the kitchen with a comforting familiarity.

Whisking them briskly, she added a pinch of salt and pepper, creating a mixture that promised a flavorful start to the day.

While the eggs cooked on the stovetop, she retrieved a few slices of bread from the breadbox, the soft scent of fresh bread wafting through the kitchen.

Camilla's thoughts drifted as she buttered the slices, her mind replaying her and Alexander's intimate dealings last night.

She could still relive the warmth of his lips trailing down her neck to her collar bone and other areas of her body, the way he had made love to her was as if he had possessed something sacred.

She couldn't really tell, maybe because it had been a while since they were last intimate, apart from that one time at her house.

It was like they had been deprived of physical intimacy and this time it felt different, like it reached a whole new level of pleasure, much better than their previous intimate encounters when they were married.

She shook her head, trying to concentrate on the task at hand, and quickly turned to check on the eggs on fire.

And after a few minutes with the eggs prepared and the bread toasted to perfection, she dished the breakfast into two separate plates that were placed on the kitchen island, creating a simple yet satisfying egg sandwich meal.

The aroma of freshly cooked eggs and warm toast filled the kitchen, inviting anyone within reach to savor the delightful flavors.

Camilla lifted a slice of scrambled egg-filled bread, ready to take a bite from her delectable sandwich.

Just as she was about to indulge, a faint rustling sound caught her attention, followed by a sudden warmth enveloping her. Alexander's mouth playfully intercepted her sandwich, surprising her.

"Alexander!" she exclaimed, her voice a delightful mix of surprise and laughter.

She turned to find him standing there, dressed in just sweatpants, his bare torso exposing his ruffled morning hair and a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, accompanied by a playful grin.

With his mouth still partly occupied by the stolen bite, he quickly swallowed and confessed, "I couldn't resist. The aroma is too tempting, and it tastes even better."

Camilla feigned annoyance, her lips forming a playful pout. "You sleepyhead! Why did you take a bite from mine? Yours is right there," she said, pointing toward his own plate, a playful glimmer dancing in her gray eyes.

Alexander chuckled, his mischievous expression turning into one of affection as he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her lips.

"You're right, and I'm sorry for stealing a bite," he admitted, his gaze locked onto hers. "But sharing is caring, isn't it?"

Camilla playfully shook her head, asserting herself, "No, I prepared this for you, remember? So I'm not about to share my portion."

She pivoted around, swiped a piece of the egg sandwich from Alexander's plate, and took a bite with a satisfied expression. After swallowing, she added with a smug grin, "Now, we're even."

Alexander, however, had other ideas. In a sudden, spontaneous move, he grasped her hips, lifting her onto the kitchen island. His eyes sparkled with mischief as he closed the distance between them.

"Why do you have to be so possessive over food?" he teased, his lips tantalizingly close to hers, causing a flutter in Camilla's chest.

Camilla swallowed, a flush of excitement and anticipation rising within her.

She quickly regained her composure and, while holding the half-eaten egg sandwich, she wrapped her arms around his neck, careful not to let her hands touch his bare skin.

"Possessive? Me?" she teased back, a playful grin tugging at her lips. "Well, maybe just a little. But only when it comes to my food."

Alexander couldn't help but chuckle, his hands sliding gently to encircle her waist as he leaned in closer, his lips gently grazing against hers.

"You know, you're quite adorable when you get all petty and playful," he murmured, his face nestled into her neck, taking in her sweet scent with each breath.

Alexander let out a low, throaty moan, his voice carrying a husky note as he inhaled her scent.

His warm breath brushed against her skin, causing her to shiver with delight.

She responded with a soft hum of pleasure, savoring his nearness, his masculine aroma enveloping her.

Though his lips teasingly nibbled at her neck, sending shivers down her spine, she found herself craving something else.

"Alexander, hold on," she gently interrupted, prompting him to withdraw slightly.

His brow furrowed with concern as he cupped her chin, studying her with a worried expression.

Camilla's eyes met his, and she offered a faint smile. "It's nothing, really. I'm just quite hungry," she explained.

His concerned expression shifted into a playful smirk, and he replied in a hoarse voice, "Well, I'm hungry too."

He leaned in, clearly intent on a kiss, but Camilla leaned back, preventing him from closing the gap between them.

Camilla grinned, her eyes dancing with amusement as she leaned forward, her face closer to Alexander's.

"No... I'm hungry and want to eat my egg sandwich...but you... you're horny...you just want to eat me," she playfully teased, her tone carrying a mischievous edge.

Alexander's desire-filled gaze didn't waver as he listened to her, and he swallowed hard, clearly affected by her proximity. "Well...That...that's actually true," he admitted, his voice heavy with desire.

Their eyes locked, the tension between them palpable, before they both burst into laughter, the lighthearted moment diffusing the sensual atmosphere.

"Alright, let's have breakfast first, and then we can satisfy other appetites," Alexander proposed, his voice laced with desire.

Camilla burst into hearty laughter at his suggestion. "What?!" She exclaimed.

"...No, I need to go check on my apartment now that you're okay."

"You don't seriously expect me to stay in bed all day," she exclaimed, and Alexander responded with a playful pout.

"Come on, you can always go tomorrow...or the day after," he suggested, attempting to convince her.

Camilla was about to respond when the sound of a ringing phone in the living room interrupted their conversation.

"Considering that ringtone, I'd say that's your phone. Someone's eager to get your attention this morning, so hurry up and check it," she teased, wiggling her eyebrows.

Alexander briefly glanced towards the living room before returning his attention to Camilla.

"They can always call back," he remarked, but Camilla's widened eyes urged him on.

"Go!" she insisted, and with a roll of his eyes, he reluctantly released her and headed to the living room.

Camilla smiled as she watched him depart, then returned her focus to her plate of breakfast.

She set one of the egg sandwiches aside and took a bite from the other, savoring the flavors.

As she continued to munch on her sandwich, a sense of curiosity got the better of her, prompting her to check on Alexander in the living room.

She picked up his plate of egg sandwiches and, holding it in one hand, made her way to where he stood.

Upon reaching him, she found him clutching the phone to his ear, his face a portrait of fear and concern as he listened to the voice on the other end. Camilla's worry instantly flared up.

Once the call had ended and he lowered the phone, Camilla inquired anxiously, "What happened, Alexander? Who was that?"

His gaze remained distant, lost in thought, deepening Camilla's concern.

She gently set the plate of sandwiches on the nearby couch and approached him, placing her hands on his shoulders and squeezing them lightly.

"Tell me what happened," she encouraged in a soft, reassuring tone.

Regaining some semblance of composure, Alexander met her gaze fleetingly and shared, "It was Isabel. He's alive."

Camilla's brows knitted in confusion at his statement. "Who died in the first place?" she questioned, her puzzlement evident.

Alexander paused for a moment before answering, "Red Saint...he's alive."

As soon as those words left his lips, a frigid sensation washed over Camilla, sending an icy shiver down her spine.

"Red Saint..." She uttered softly, her heart pounding fiercely in her chest.
