Chapter 1016 - 1055: Cleaning Up
"Thank you, Brother Ming." She called him by the name she used when she was a child.
Brother Ming... His heart sank, and a sour feeling arose, yet it was also an emotion he could appreciate. He could be her Brother Ming, and that was enough, wasn’t it?
In this world, not everything comes with rewards or results. As long as he can see her finding happiness, it’s a form of happiness for him, isn’t it?
All these years, what he wanted was nothing more than for her to be happy. But now, it is another man who makes her happy.
"I’ve seen the information about your ’Empress,’ it’s very good, it should receive quite a good response from the audience. Do you plan to continue writing scripts after you’re married?" He diverted the topic slightly.
"Yes," she responded, "I don’t intend to give up scriptwriting, it is a career I plan to pursue for life. It’s just that, in the future, I might settle down in Falling City."
"Then I will look forward to your next work," Daniel Harris said with a gentle smile.
In the future, he will watch every play she writes, watching her grow from a small-time scriptwriter, slowly realizing her potential. Her talent and ingenuity, he can sense it.
Perhaps in a few years, she will stand out in this field, gaining many accolades, writing many acclaimed plays.
And he looks forward to it...
At least they are still within the same circle, at least he can still feel each of her works, experience the story she wants to express...

In the afternoon, after leaving the Film Festival, Mabel Quinn went once more to the apartment complex where Clover had lived. Lately, all belongings had been moved out, and the reason she went back was to tidy up and then return the keys to Uncle.
Mabel Quinn took a cloth and wiped down all the furniture and chairs in the room, cleaned corners in the kitchen and spots that still had dirt, then swept the floor, finally mopping twice.
This small apartment felt very cozy to her. A lot had happened here, even Uncle had once dined and played mahjong with Daniel and Kyle here. Thinking of the things that happened here, Mabel couldn’t help but smile.
Perhaps because Clover had lived in this apartment before, inexplicably, she always felt a sense of familiarity with it—the woman whom both her father and uncle cared for made her curious and regretful.
She hoped Clover was truly just missing, not deceased, and hoped that one day the misunderstanding between Clover and Uncle would be resolved.
When the cleaning was almost done, Mabel Quinn received a call from Kyle Kinston, asking where she was.
"I’m here at the small apartment, cleaning. It’s almost done," she replied.
"I’ll come pick you up," he said.
"Okay," Mabel answered.
About half an hour later, Kyle arrived at the apartment complex. Mabel smiled and said, "It’s done, just two bags of garbage left, I’ll take them out and we can leave."
"I’ll do it, you go lock the door," Kyle said, already bending down to pick up the two bags of trash leaning against the corner.
Seeing him in a CEO’s suit carrying two bags of trash, Mabel felt that this image was rather down-to-earth.
She grabbed the keys and walked out of the apartment with Kyle. She glanced once more at the now clean apartment, nostalgic and reluctant, she closed the door, locked it, and left.
