Chapter 1008 - 1047: Making Up for It in Other Ways
After finishing their meal, Kyle Kinston accompanied Mabel Quinn as she wandered through the mall. After browsing the jewelry section, Mabel moved on to the floor with baby products.
There were many baby items here, all mini and cute, which made Mabel Quinn happy just to look at them, unable to resist picking them up for a closer look.
"Are you two shopping for a child?" a shop assistant asked, "Is it for your own child or as a gift for someone else?"
"Oh, we don’t have children yet," Mabel Quinn quickly responded, "We’re just casually browsing."
"I see. You look so young, waiting a few more years to have kids is not too late. I’m sure the children you two have will be very cute," the shop assistant said with a smile.
Mabel forced a smile, but a trace of sadness flashed in her eyes. Even in a few years, she and Kyle might never have their own children.
Maybe that child would only exist in her dreams and imagination.
Suddenly, her interest in continuing to shop seemed to dwindle. After leaving the counter, Mabel said to Kyle, "Why don’t we go back? I’m a bit tired; we can come back another day."
He gave her a deep look, "Alright, let’s go back." With that, he held her hand, and the two walked out of the mall and returned to the car.
"Are you bothered by what the shop assistant said?" Kyle’s voice suddenly echoed inside the car.
Mabel was taken aback and looked up, meeting his phoenix-like eyes, those jet-black eyes that seemed to see through everything. She bit her lip gently and said, "Sorry, I just..."
"The one who should apologize is me. It’s because I can’t give you a child," he interrupted her.
"Even if we don’t have children, we will still be happy!" Mabel quickly said, "Kyle, when you first told me that we might never have children, I had already thought it through. I have no regrets marrying you, though... I do feel there’s a bit of regret, but we can find other ways to make up for it, can’t we?"
She gave him a soft smile, "Even without children, we will have many other sources of happiness!"
His eyes turned even more tender as he gently wrapped his arm around her shoulders, his voice deep yet firm, "Yes, we will have other happiness. I want you to be happy your whole life!" The regret of not having children, he would make up for in other ways, ensuring she was so happy she’d forget this regret.

Michael Quinn had been summoned back to the Quinn Family’s mansion by a call from his father. Upon arriving, he saw not only his father there but also his uncle. Especially, the expressions on their faces — his uncle’s was cold and stern, while his father’s eyebrows were furrowed, seeming somewhat uneasy.
"Dad, what did you call me back for?" Michael Quinn asked. For some reason, the situation before him stirred a sense of unease in his heart.
"What for? See for yourself!" With that, Edward Quinn threw a stack of documents forcefully in front of Michael.
Michael picked it up and his face immediately changed, "Uncle, someone is trying to frame me maliciously; this has nothing to do with me!"
Seeing this, Christopher Quinn quickly took the documents from his son and glanced at them, his expression also changed dramatically.
Earlier, his older brother had just called and told him to bring Michael back, and he originally thought his youngest son might have made some mistake at work, but he hadn’t anticipated it would be about this matter.
