Chapter 1007 - 1046: Isn’t It a Bit Too Early?

When Edward Quinn finished the phone call, he felt heavy-hearted.

If he had believed Clover back then, then when the child died, and the paternity test showed the child was not his, he would have pursued the truth. Then Clover wouldn’t have left him, feeling hopeless because he didn’t believe her. Their family would not have separated like this!

After work, Kyle Kinston came to pick up Mabel Quinn. Mabel said, "Uncle called me today and mentioned that you visited him."

"Yes." Kyle responded.

"And... about the drugging incident, was it really Michael Quinn who did it?" She asked. When Uncle told her over the phone, she could hardly believe it.

"There shouldn’t be any mistake." He said.

"But why didn’t you tell me before?" She said, "If Uncle hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have known."

"Weren’t you busy worrying about the Conley Family’s matters earlier? I didn’t want to burden you further with this issue." Kyle said, "Besides, this is a Quinn Family affair, so I wanted to see your uncle’s reaction first. But your uncle will handle it, so let him take care of it."

They decided to eat out today. Kyle drove to a restaurant, ordered dishes, and sat down with Mabel. Just halfway through the meal, Mabel suddenly stood up, hurriedly excused herself to the restroom, and rushed over.

Once inside the restroom, Mabel leaned over the sink and began to vomit, emptying everything she had just eaten.

What’s going on with her these days? Her stomach never seems to feel comfortable. After finishing vomiting, she rinsed her mouth and wiped her lips. Looking at her pale face in the mirror, she suddenly recalled Alice Conley’s previous pregnancy, where she would vomit incessantly.

As Mabel walked out of the restroom, she saw Kyle standing at the restroom entrance.

"Are you feeling unwell? Your complexion doesn’t look good." He stepped forward and said.

"Nothing much, maybe I ate a bit too fast and felt uncomfortable in my stomach. But after vomiting, I feel much better." Mabel said.

"Then eat slowly later and drink some hot soup to warm your stomach." Kyle said.

"Okay." She agreed, "By the way, Kyle, after finishing our meal, will you accompany me to the nearby mall? I want to shop for gifts. In case Alice eventually has the baby, I want to buy something to celebrate."

"But there are still three months before she gives birth, isn’t it a bit early to shop now?"

"It’s better to prepare early rather than last-minute. Besides, some items might need ordering and waiting; they’re not immediately available." She said.

"Sure, let’s go shopping then." He said, as long as she was happy, he would accompany her.
