Chapter 454: Long time no see, 184

Chapter 454: Long time no see, 184

The young boy appeared frail, but the skill he had just displayed couldn’t have been achieved without at least ten years of practice.

Moreover, his precise control of force showed clear signs of guidance from a master.

The tattooed man lay sprawled on the ground, his joints aching and his strength completely drained. He was filled with dread.

The troublemaker from the start, Qiangzi, saw the boy bring down Biaozi with a single move. His face went pale, and he instinctively hid behind Brother Chen.

"Brother Chen, this guy is too arrogant! He doesn’t even respect you; you’ve got to teach him a lesson!"

Qiangzi egged him on from behind.

Zhang Chen, easily aggravated, wore a dark expression and waved his hand: "All of you, attack! I refuse to believe we can’t handle two brats."

His men swarmed forward. Gu Bichen motioned for Yan Lu and Gao Yuyue to step back and then joined the fray.

On the opposing side were seven men. As the saying goes, two fists can’t fend off four hands, and Gu Bichen and Liu Runxi should have been at a disadvantage. However, their seamless coordination—one attacking, one defending—didn’t leave the enemy the slightest advantage.

Soon, all seven men were sprawled on the ground.

Liu Runxi was completely unharmed, while Gu Bichen had a minor scrape on his left arm.

Only now did Zhang Chen and Qiangzi realize they had picked on the wrong targets.

However, Zhang Chen was not entirely unseasoned and didn’t lose his composure completely.

"Brats, you’ve got some skills, but you’re too young to understand there are people you shouldn’t mess with... Do you know the Golden Head Gang...?"

He barely uttered the name "Golden Head Gang" before the blaring sound of police sirens rang out. Several police cars screeched to a halt at the mouth of the alley.

A group of officers poured out of the vehicles, and the leading policeman pointed straight at Zhang Chen: "Zhang Chen, how many days has it been since your release from custody? And now you dare cause trouble again? Clearly, you’re longing for prison food! Well, if that’s the case, I’ll grant you your wish."

Zhang Chen’s face turned ashen immediately: "Officer... Officer Li, why are you here?"

The officer surnamed Li snorted coldly: "If I weren’t here, how could I personally witness your good deeds?"

With that, he strode forward and swiftly cuffed Zhang Chen’s wrists with a pair of silver handcuffs.

Zhang Chen’s face looked like it had just attended a funeral.

Qiangzi didn’t fare any better, soon finding his own wrists adorned with cold steel.

He snapped back into reality and yelled, "Officer, they hit first! Look at what they did to our men! Why aren’t you arresting them instead?"

Officer Li turned to glance at Liu Runxi and Gu Bichen, his gaze slipping past them and landing on a girl dressed in black.

Out of the group, she was the most low-profile, yet also the most striking, drawing his attention involuntarily.

Then, his eyes shifted to Yan Lu, who stood beside the girl in black.

Officer Li strode over with a respectful demeanor: "Miss Yan, I hope you weren’t startled. Are you injured?"

Zhang Chen and Qiangzi stared at the scene in disbelief, their eyes wide open.

Li Xun was famously incorruptible—how could he treat a young girl with such respect? This had to be a delusion...

Suddenly, Zhang Chen seemed to realize something and carefully scrutinized Yan Lu’s features.

The surname Yan...

There were several families with the surname Yan in Chunzhou, but only one of them could warrant such deference from Li Xun.

He then examined the girl’s appearance more closely. It bore some resemblance to the well-known and universally admired Miss Yan, who was famed for her charitable endeavors. There were rumors that Miss Yan had a niece who had yet to come of age—could it be this girl?

Realizing this, Zhang Chen’s face turned ghostly pale. He furiously kicked the confused Qiangzi.

"Ignorant fool! She’s Miss Yan, the niece of Governor Yan and Miss Yan!"

Qiangzi’s lips trembled as he stammered, "N-no way, right?"

"Miss Yan has such a noble status. How could she possibly take the subway? She must be a fake..."

Yan Lu smiled lightly: "Officer Li, I’m fine, but my classmate here hasn’t been as lucky. Look at his arm—these men beat him badly. He’s got a fracture!"

Gu Bichen coughed lightly, his expression slightly awkward.

It wasn’t exaggerated to that extent.

Li Xun quickly replied, "I’ll arrange for someone to send you to the hospital!"

Yan Lu glanced at Gu Bichen.

Gu Bichen responded with a gentle smile: "Thank you, Officer. It’s just a minor injury; there’s no need to make a fuss. It would be better to take these troublemakers in for a thorough interrogation to prevent them from causing harm to more innocent people."

Li Xun observed the young man’s cultivated demeanor and speech and recognized he came from an extraordinary background. In fact, all of the boys and girls accompanying Miss Yan displayed remarkable bearing. After all, those who associated with Miss Yan could hardly be ordinary.

Li Xun addressed Yan Lu: "Miss Yan, if you ever need assistance, don’t hesitate to call me. I’ll take these men away now."

"Officer Li, thank you for today."

Li Xun waved his hand, and his subordinates loaded the group of troublemakers into the police cars, which sped away as quickly as they had arrived.
