Double Trouble, Triple Heat

Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Weeks settle into something like normalcy.

The twins grow impossibly fast—crawling already, sometimes shifting into tiny wolf pups without warning. Keeping them contained is a full-time occupation. Elias favors his copper-furred pup form, racing through the lodge on unsteady legs. Aurora prefers to stay human but has developed an alarming habit of making her eyes glow gold whenever she wants attention.

Watching Dominic chase a copper-furred puppy around the living room while cursing creatively in three languages is worth every sleepless night.

"Get back here, you little—" He lunges, misses, and crashes into the couch. Elias yips triumphantly and scampers under the dining table.

Caspian leans against the doorframe, arms crossed, grinning. "The mighty alpha of Blackwood, defeated by a six-week-old."

"He's fast," Dominic growls, crawling under the table after our son. "Unnaturally fast."

"He gets it from his mother."

I look up from where I'm nursing Aurora. "Don't drag me into this."

But I'm smiling. We're all smiling, more than we used to. The shadow of war has lifted, replaced by the ordinary chaos of new parenthood.

The new pack structure works better than anyone expected.

Dominic has relaxed into leadership rather than gripping it white-knuckled. The council handles day-to-day decisions, freeing him to focus on bigger threats—and on us. I catch him smiling more often now. Laughing at Caspian's terrible jokes. Reaching for my hand in public without hesitation, without worrying about appearing weak.

He's not weak. He never was. He just finally believes it.

Caspian has grown into his role as co-alpha. The title that made him cry at first now sits comfortably on his shoulders. He leads patrols, trains younger wolves, speaks in council meetings with confidence I never saw in him before. The boy who believed he'd always be second has become essential—and he finally knows it.

Luna runs the council meetings with terrifying efficiency. "We're not here to debate feelings," she snapped at the last one. "We're here to make decisions. Vote or get out."

She's still Luna. Just... softer around the edges. Sometimes I catch her watching the twins with something like longing. Something like hope.

My power continues to develop.

I can strengthen pack bonds from a distance now—reaching out through the golden threads to pour warmth and confidence into wolves who need it. Minor injuries heal at my touch, the wounds closing as I absorb the pain. I can sense threats before they materialize, a prickling at the edge of my consciousness that's saved us from two rogue wolf incursions already.

Eldric theorizes I'm still growing. Still becoming something new.

"Prime power has always been about amplification," he told me last week, those milky eyes studying me with unnerving intensity. "But you're doing something different. You're not just making others stronger—you're weaving them together. Creating something unified from separate threads."

"Is that dangerous?"

"Everything powerful is dangerous." He'd smiled then, ancient and knowing. "But some dangerous things are also beautiful."

Tonight, the children are with Luna and Miriam.

"Go," Luna said, practically shoving us out the door. "You three need time alone. The twins will be fine." She'd glanced at Aurora, already reaching for her with grabby hands. "We'll be fine."

So we run.

Three wolves under the full moon, moving as one through the forest. Dominic's black wolf presses against my flank, his warmth seeping into my russet fur. Caspian's silver form dances ahead, then circles back to nip at my ear playfully.

I've run these woods a dozen times now, but it never gets old. The way the moonlight filters through the trees. The smell of pine and earth and pack. The bond humming between us, connecting us even in wolf form.

This is what I was missing my entire life. This belonging. This completion.

We run until the moon is high, until our legs ache and our lungs burn with exhilaration. Then we turn toward home.

Back at the lodge, still thrumming with wolf energy, we barely make it through the door before hands are pulling at clothes.

Dominic lifts me against the wall, mouth hot on my throat, growling low in his chest. "Been wanting to do this all night."

Caspian presses against my back, teeth grazing my shoulder. "Watching you run... god, Sera. You have no idea what you do to us."

"Bedroom," I gasp as Dominic's hands find the hem of my shirt. "Or we're not making it past the hallway."

We stumble toward the room, shedding clothes as we go. By the time we reach the bed, we're all bare skin and hungry mouths.

We come together differently now.

Not desperate or uncertain—those early days of fumbling, of figuring out how three bodies fit together. Now we're confident. Complete. We know each other's rhythms, each other's needs, exactly what touches make the other gasp.

Dominic lays me down like I'm precious, then proceeds to take me apart with his mouth until I'm begging. His tongue finds places that make me arch off the bed, his hands holding my hips steady when I try to squirm away from the overwhelming pleasure.

"Please," I gasp. "Dom, please—"

He doesn't stop. Just looks up at me with molten gold eyes and doubles his efforts until I shatter the first time.

Caspian watches with darkening eyes, stroking himself, until I reach for him too. "Come here," I manage, still trembling. "Need you."

Then they trade places, Caspian's mouth finding mine while Dominic positions himself behind me. They move in sync—Caspian swallowing my moans while Dominic fills me completely.

We move together—three bodies, one rhythm. I feel them both through the bond, their pleasure echoing mine, amplifying until I can't tell where I end and they begin. Every sensation shared, every gasp multiplied.

"I love you," Dominic says against my lips as he moves inside me.

"I love you," Caspian whispers against my spine, teeth grazing skin.

"I love you both," I gasp. "Always. Forever."

We mark each other—bites and scratches and claims renewed. The bond blazes gold, weaving us together permanently. When we finally shatter, it's all three of us at once, crying out in a harmony that feels like music.

Afterward, tangled together in sheets damp with sweat, we talk about the future.

Dominic's fingers trace lazy patterns on my hip. Caspian's hand rests warm against my stomach—not possessive, just... present. Connected. The witch's warning hovers at the edge of conversation. The powers stirring. The children who will need protecting.

"Morrigan said others would come," I murmur. "Some to worship. Some to destroy."

"Let them come." Dominic's voice is a rumble against my hair. "We'll handle it."

"Together," Caspian adds. "That's kind of our thing now."

I smile, pressing closer to them both. "Our thing?"

"Facing impossible odds. Defying expectations. Being disgustingly in love." He grins, silver eyes bright in the darkness. "We're good at it."

He's not wrong.

Six months ago, I was running from a stalker, alone and afraid, with no idea what waited in Silverpine Falls. Now I have a pack. A family. Two men who love me without asking me to choose. Children who carry the hope of everything we're building.

The witch said I'm changing things by existing. That my children are keys to doors that should remain closed. That the old powers are waking.

Maybe she's right. Maybe threats are coming that we can't imagine.

But tonight, lying between my mates, feeling their heartbeats sync with mine through the bond, I'm not afraid.

"Whatever comes," I say softly, "we face it together."

Dominic tightens his arm around me. Caspian presses a kiss to my shoulder.

"Together," they say in unison.

Through the bond, I feel Elias and Aurora—two bright sparks across the lodge, sleeping peacefully in Luna's care. Our children. Our future. The first of many, perhaps. The start of something that will outlast all of us.

I think about my mother—golden Lena, who dreamed of peace between worlds. I think about my father—broken Robert, who found redemption in his final moments. I think about the grandmother who sacrificed years of her life to protect me, and the witch who's watching to see what I become.

They all played their parts in bringing me here. To this moment. To these men. To this family.

The moon shines through the window, bathing us in silver light. Somewhere in the distance, a wolf howls—one of ours, on patrol, keeping us safe.

And for the first time in my life, I know exactly where I belong.
