Ah Jiu watched him whispering with the Little Novice Monk, and then saw him take a piece of sesame candy from his cloth bag and stuff it into the monk’s hand, saying, "I finally know why he carries that bag, it must be filled with candies to please these young monks!"

Wufu laughed, "Expecting the horse to run while not feeding it? There’s no such thing. I think this kid is quite clever."

"Isn’t it cleverness? It’s all for some reward money." Ah Jiu raised an eyebrow.

"That’s just fine, not stealing nor robbing, earning money through his own labor. That’s excellent; the glory belongs to the working people!" She respects and reveres everyone who labors for a living.

While they were talking, Dezi ran back, saying, "I asked around, and was told that the distinguished visitors are Lady of Good Sounds and Prince Zhou. How fortunate you are, the Lady of Good Sounds is a great philanthropist with a Bodhisattva’s heart, she wouldn’t let Xiangguo Temple restrict the forest, you can go enjoy it!"

"You know Lady of Good Sounds is a benevolent person?" Wufu raised an eyebrow hearing a familiar name.

Dezi blushed and nodded, "I know. She comes to Xiangguo Temple for worship on the first of each month and gives blessing bags to the beggars at the foot of the mountain to help cure all ailments. Everyone respects her and calls her the reincarnation of Bodhisattva. I’ve had some too!"

Wufu and Ah Jiu exchanged a glance, realizing how she had earned such a reputation.

"It’s almost noon, shall we have some vegetarian meals first?" Wufu suggested.

Ah Jiu nodded.

Upon hearing this, Dezi said, "All vegetarian meals at the temple need advance reservations. Did you make one, distinguished ones? If not, I know a chef who can open a back door for you."

Wufu giggled, saying, "We have reservations. Thank you for today!"

Dezi chuckled sheepishly.

Ah Jiu nodded at Yuan Ye.

Yuan Ye untied the purse from his waist and handed a small handful of Silver Shells over, "A reward from our master."

Dezi looked at the handful of Silver Shells in his hand, surprised and delighted. He swallowed hard, looking at Wufu, and said, "Ah, sister, it’s too much." He took one and returned the rest to Yuan Ye, "This is enough!"

Wufu’s eyes flashed with a hint of praise, not greedy, very good, and she said, "It’s a reward, keep it. You’re dedicated and enthusiastic. That’s how business should be! You might expect to hit a big score!"

After speaking, she walked alongside Ah Jiu.
