Chapter 409 - 387: Twisted Love
Xia Yan turned around to wash her hands in the bathroom, without saying a word to Yang Hexuan, she quietly followed him downstairs. The dining place was a restaurant by the sea, filled with young people and a lively atmosphere.
"Hexuan, can we do an ancient costume theme this time? It’s so boring to always shoot in wedding dresses."
Yang Hexuan joked, "How about body art?"
Gu Qimiao originally wanted to chime in her curiosity about ancient costumes, but upon hearing Yang Hexuan’s reply, she immediately fell silent. Speaking of body art, she had been photographed by him in a very thin, transparent shirt, which Shen Yanchen later mistook for [sexy] clothes, making her feel very embarrassed thinking about it.
Fortunately, it seemed that everyone had forgotten about it, and they were discussing how to spend their time.
After a tiring day of travel, everyone rested early that night.
Dudu had just finished her shower, her hair still wet, and she stepped out onto the balcony to enjoy the sea breeze. To her surprise, as soon as she stepped out, she saw Shen Yiran on the adjacent balcony. Their eyes met, he was nonchalant, she was stunned.
Only a small iron railing separated the two balconies; for him, with his long legs, he could easily step over it.
Dudu quickly averted her gaze, covered her face with the towel on her head, and turned to walk back inside, but his voice came from behind, "You’ve lost a lot of weight."
She was wearing a cami nightdress, and her slender arms looked even thinner than before.
Dudu paused at his words but soon continued inside, closing the glass door between the room and the balcony, and drawing the curtains.
Shen Yiran still kept his gaze, looking at her room.
In the past, he avoided her like the plague. Whenever she saw him, she would smile happily and cling to his side, but now, she looked like she had seen a ghost, desperate to get away.
Dudu stood by the glass door, her motion of drying her hair stopped. She stood there stunned for a long time before she couldn’t help but peek out through a small gap in the curtain, thinking he must have left by now, but to her surprise, her sneaky behavior was caught by him.
Panicked, she quickly dropped the curtain, and the next thing she heard were footsteps outside on the balcony, followed by a knock, "Knock knock——"
The glass beside her ear was tapped. Dudu froze entirely, knowing who was outside but still afraid to open the door.
She didn’t know how to face him now, nor did she understand his intentions.
Didn’t he used to be annoyed by her? Why is he reaching out to her now?
She dared not think too deeply, afraid she would misinterpret his actions again, as she did before, perhaps he had always seen her merely as a younger sister to be cared for, hence why he escaped her twisted affection so decisively.
The knocking stopped after a single rap, and there were no more movements outside. He clearly didn’t leave, but what was he waiting for?
Dudu’s heart was in turmoil because of him, the water from her hair dripping onto the floor, and faintly, the sound of waves curling up could still be heard outside.
She stood there quietly for what felt like ages, without hearing the sound of him leaving.
Had she misheard? Did he sneak back already?
She didn’t know how long it had been, but as the water in her hair stopped dripping, Dudu carefully pulled back the curtain and saw a man’s chest. Looking up, she saw his face peering down at her. If she hadn’t prepared herself, it would have surely scared her to death.
He asked lightly, "Really not going to open the door?"
