Chapter 373 - 351: Thank You for Bringing My Wife to the Hospital
Seeing Dudu in so much pain, they gave her a painkiller shot and fed her some medicine. She fell asleep on the hospital bed.Shen Yiran stayed in the ward, even though he knew he didn’t have a proper identity to appear in front of her now, he didn’t want to miss even a moment of being with her.
He quietly watched her sleeping face on the bed. The sunlight outside the window gradually rose and shone on her face. Shen Yiran went to the bedside and pulled the curtains a bit. He watched as the cold fluid slowly entered her veins, chilling her hand.
A "click" sound came from the door, and in the next second, someone pushed the door open and entered the ward.
The two men stared at each other, both taken aback.
"What are you doing here?" Qiao Luchen, dressed in a white coat, was the first to speak, and he walked toward the bed, looking at An’an.
Shen Yiran bit his lip and remained silent, already knowing that he had no reason to argue with him over her.
Ignoring Shen Yiran’s presence, Qiao Luchen went to the bedside, touched Dudu’s face, brushed the stray hair behind her ear, then reached under the blanket to feel her cold hand, and adjusted the blanket to her comfort. Straightening up, he looked at Shen Yiran and said, "Thank you for bringing my wife to the hospital."
Shen Yiran took a deep breath and finally pretended to be calm as he reminded, "She suffers from dysmenorrhea; the first day is very painful."
"Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Shen. I won’t hold you up any longer. I’ll take care of her here."
Shen Yiran glanced sideways at Dudu on the bed, then slowly moved his steps and left the ward.
The decision was made by himself, he had to be prepared to bear it all. Seeing that Qiao Luchen was good to her, he should let go of his concerns. He no longer had the right to be involved in her future.
When Dudu woke up, it was already noon. She opened her eyes and looked around. Recalling what happened before in the hospital, she immediately sat up looking for that familiar figure, but there was no one else in the ward besides her.
She lifted the blanket, intending to get out of bed, only to realize that she was hooked up to an IV. She reached out and pressed the call button beside the bed.
As soon as the nurse came in, she asked, "Do you know where the gentleman who brought me to the hospital went?"
"Which gentleman? Dr. Qiao? He’s busy with a patient and said to inform him when you wake up."
Dudu frowned at the words but still held onto a glimmer of hope and asked, "It wasn’t him. The one who brought me here."
The nurse shook her head, "Sorry, I’m not sure."
Dudu’s eyes dimmed with disappointment. Could it have just been a dream? But she clearly remembered it was him who brought her here. Although they didn’t exchange any words, she wouldn’t mistake his face, she could never mistake it.
Could it be, he just happened to see her in trouble and kindly brought her to the hospital? Because he didn’t want too much entanglement, afraid she would bother him again, he hurried away while she was asleep?
"You’re awake?"
Qiao Luchen’s voice pulled Dudu back from her thoughts, "Is there anywhere else you feel uncomfortable?"
Dudu shook her head with a bit of confusion, her mind entirely on Shen Yiran. Waking up without seeing him, her heart felt empty.
Qiao Luchen saw her expression and knew what she was thinking. Was it just a coincidence they met today? Or did she go to him again?
Pretending to know nothing, he asked caringly, "Are you hungry? What would you like to eat? I’ll have someone get it for you."
Dudu looked up at the IV bottle above her head, which was almost finished, and said, "You go ahead and do your work; I’ll go out to eat later."
