Chapter 187: My Brother and I Will Stand Up for You
Chapter 187: My Brother and I Will Stand Up for You
Elara Don was originally wondering why her son wasn’t wearing his school uniform today.
When she saw the two sons dressed identically, she suddenly understood.
Could it be that these two kids deliberately dressed like this?
Trying to make Damon Hawke suspicious?
Immediately, she felt amused and let out a sigh.
Damon Hawke, this jerk, should she forgive him?
At this moment, Damon Hawke certainly had no idea what Elara Don was thinking.
His gaze fell directly on the two children, his black eyes fixed.
The two kids were wearing exactly the same clothes, with identical hairstyles and height.
They were wearing masks, holding hands beside the car, looking like twins.
Twins!
Damon Hawke’s black eyes squinted slightly, something flashed in his mind, too quick for him to grasp.
At this time, Dominic Hawke greeted both, "Mommy, Daddy, good morning."
Damon Hawke snapped out of his thoughts, looked at the masked Dominic Hawke, hesitated slightly, "Are you Charlie?"
How come he felt this should be Bea?
Clearly, he just saw Charlie running over to stand on the left side.
"I’m Charlie."
Dominic Hawke nodded, afraid Damon Hawke wouldn’t believe him, reached out to remove his mask, revealing his delicate little face.
Indeed, it was his own son.
Damon Hawke’s eyes moved slightly, his gaze shifted to Bea.
"Bea, take off your mask, let Uncle Hawke see what you look like."
Bea held her mask tightly, grinning, "Uncle Hawke, I have a cold, afraid of giving it to you, how about I don’t take it off?"
Damon Hawke: "..."
Why did he feel this voice, this smile, was exactly the same as this morning’s ’Charlie’!
"Cough, you’re going to be late, you two hurry up and get in the car."
Elara Don saw Damon Hawke was serious about being suspicious, quickly intervened.
Leia Quinn watched this scene unfold amusingly, opened the car door and urged the two kids inside.
"Alright, President Hawke, your assistant is here to pick you up, goodbye then."
Leia Quinn closed the rear door, greeted Damon Hawke, glanced at Elara Don who walked to the front passenger seat, and winked at her, full of teasing.
They had the big boss wrapped around their finger; wonder if Damon Hawke will be enraged when he discovers the truth!
Elara Don pursed her red lips and got into the car.
Once the car slowly started, she glanced at the two little ones in the back seat.
"Did you two do it on purpose?"
"Hehe, Mommy don’t be mad, Dad tricked you for so long, my brother and I just wanted to vent for you."
Bea giggled and said.
Beside, Dominic Hawke removed his mask, "Mommy, if you’re still mad at Dad, my brother and I can keep pranking him."
"Mm, until Mommy cools down."
The two little ones looked at her eagerly, seemingly conveying one meaning.
Which was that they would stand up for her, so might she forgive Damon Hawke!
Things round and round, they still hoped she could be with Damon Hawke.
Elara Don felt complicated, speechless for a moment.
Leia Quinn observed, said, "Alright, hurry up and change into your school uniforms, don’t play such childish games anymore. Let adults handle their matters, you two just take care of yourselves."
Give Elara Don some time to think about it.
She understood, Elara Don would feel hurt, not just because Damon Hawke used two identities to deceive her, but mainly where his heart truly lay.
Plus, their identities and status were a barrier between them.
Elara Don was proud, wanting genuine emotions.
Couldn’t accept being together only for the children’s sake in marriage.
The two little ones in the back seat exchanged glances, sighed inwardly.
Thinking, Dad is so foolish.
Still hasn’t figured out the truth.
...
Evelyn Miles made soup at home, brought it to Hawke Group.
Yesterday, Damon Hawke invited her to dinner, can’t figure out why.
But then they separated upon encountering Elara Don and Benjamin Harper dining together.
Today, she had to come over for a check-up, see what’s going on.
"Miss Grant, you’re here."
The receptionist recognized Evelyn Miles, greeted her with a smile.
"I’m here to bring Tom some soup, something nourishing."
Evelyn Miles smiled warmly, showing off the thermos she held.
"Miss Grant is really kind to our president."
The receptionist complimented, Evelyn Miles enjoyed their respectful and envious gazes, raised her chin high stepping into the elevator.
Just like she was already the mistress here.
Arriving outside the president’s office, Evelyn Miles didn’t wait for the secretary to announce, knocked the door and entered directly.
"Tom."
Damon Hawke was listening to Rhun Quinn’s work report, saw Evelyn Miles enter uninvited, frowned slightly.
"Rhun Quinn, who’s on duty outside today? Dock one month’s bonus."
Rhun Quinn froze, glanced at Evelyn Miles, nodded, "Yes."
Is he treating Evelyn Miles as an ordinary guest?
"You can leave now." Damon Hawke said.
"Yes."
Rhun Quinn respectfully withdrew, greeted Evelyn Miles while leaving.
Listening to their exchange, Evelyn Miles’ smile barely held.
"Tom, why did you penalize the employees? Are you blaming them for letting me in without notification?"
Every time she came, it didn’t require notice.
Since when did he classify her as an ordinary guest?
"There are no rules without standards; it’s their job. Negligence in work deserves punishment."
Damon Hawke explained calmly.
Evelyn Miles bit her lip, seeing Damon Hawke’s unmistakably distant attitude, her eyes flickered.
"Tom, are you angry with me?"
She sort of understood, Damon Hawke must have been this way because of the pool incident.
She had to prepare a proper explanation.
Damon Hawke’s actions paused, he lifted his gaze to her, "Samantha, I just want to know, how did Elly fall into the pool, did you push her?"
The man’s gaze was deep, carrying a hint of coldness.
Evelyn Miles bit her lip, her eyes suddenly reddened.
"Tom, it was indeed because of me that Elly fell into the pool. But I didn’t do it on purpose, we had a quarrel, I wasn’t careful and accidentally pushed her."
Damon Hawke stared at her, "Why quarrel?"
"Isn’t it all because of you!"
Evelyn Miles wiped away a tear, "At the dance, you swapped us unexpectedly, of course I was upset, so I left to get some air. Elly was also there, so I greeted her. But Elly was very cold to me, didn’t want to even talk. I was proud after all, impulsively mentioned how well you and I used to be, she retorted, saying she wouldn’t let anyone have the man she discarded; I got so angry, so I..."
He’s sure a straightforward man.
She tactfully chose to confess, more reassuring than hiding.
