Chapter 147 - 146: The Formation

Chapter 147 - 146: The Formation

A group of children were standing outside Li Jain’s courtyard, hesitant to enter. Today is the third day since Li Jain and his children arrived, but these children still can’t find the courage to enter their yard.

"Let’s leave." One of them said with a pout.

"But we don’t have greet uncle Jain yet." Another one said.

"What’s the point of standing here when we won’t go in? Besides, if we go in submissively, it will give those brothers the chance to look down on us."

"Brother Guiying is right. They were just some small potatoes a few years ago with inferior spiritual roots. But now they came back like some big shots. They haven’t even come out to play in the past few days. If it wasn’t for my father who wants to curry favor with Uncle Jain, I wouldn’t even be here."

"Let’s not be scared of a little embarrassment," another boy said with a shaking voice, he was a bit nervous: "It’s better to just face them."

Li Tain, the oldest in their group, pinched his brow, glancing at the gate: "That’s easy for you to say. You’re not the one who’ll be ridiculed if we go in and they laugh. You weren’t here at the time; we really didn’t get along well with those guys."

"Maybe if we just peek through the gate," suggested a girl, her eyes sparkling with excitement: "I heard they have a whole bunch of spirit beasts!"

The mention of spirit beasts ignited their excitement. They shifted restlessly, glancing at one another.

As they were hesitating, a rustle behind them made them jump.

"What are you all doing out here?" A smooth voice sounded behind them.

This person is Li Xuefeng, eldest son of Li Yiwei, he is currently thirteen years old.

"We’re here to greet Uncle Jain. We haven’t had the chance to greet him since he came back." Li Tian was unwilling, he didn’t want to talk to Li Xuefeng. After all, they weren’t on good terms, but since the other party had already asked him, he had no choice but to respond.

"Just go in already, or are you afraid? I saw you guys standing here thirty minutes ago. To think that you’re still here because of that..." Li Xuefeng shook his head and left.

He knew those guys were embarrassed to go in. The table has turned for them and they don’t have that superiority anymore.

Li Tian sneered and ignored Li Xuefeng’s sarcastic words. The two have been rivals since they were born. As the eldest sons of their fathers, who were also rivals, they picked up from where they stopped.

They were of similar age, born in the same year with only one month apart. They both have one spirit root. One has fire, the other has gold. Unfortunately, Li Tian was left behind by Li Xuefeng. Although he knew that it was because Xuefeng had more resources than him, others weren’t looking at it like that. That’s the main reason he used to pick on the twins Yujian and Yuhan who had three spirit roots.

But now even that comfort was taken away. Although no one had said that Li Jain children’s cultivation has improved, Li Tian knew it has. The Spiritual Tavern is known for its rare and quality dishes. It has tons of dishes that can improve cultivation, spirit roots, and meridians.

As children of the owner of such a restaurant, how could they not have improved? Li Tian was so frustrated that he turned and left.

The others were confused and started calling after him, but Li Tian didn’t look back. Li Xuefeng who hasn’t walked far yet looks over his shoulder, only to see Li Tian’s retreating figure. He wasn’t mad that he was ignored, his already good mood turned even better, and his steps felt lighter.

Just as the other children were hesitating whether they should also leave, the courtyard gate opened and Li Jain walked out.

"Oh, what are you kids doing here? Is there something I can help you with?"

Li Jain wasn’t as surprised as he sounds, for the past few days he had this group of kids lingering outside his yard, but not daring to go in. When he told his buns about them, his lovely buns didn’t care and weren’t a bit interested. So, he didn’t interfere nor invite the group of kids in.

"Um... no. We don’t need anything. We were just passing by." One of the kids said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh ok, you kids should have a good rest of your days." Li Jain said and left, not bothering with them.

"Well, Uncle Jain has left. There’s no need to wait here, let’s go." Li Guiying said with a frown. The others agree and follow his lead.

Li Juanxin who was peeking through the gate saw their retreating figures and ran back into the house.

"Have they finally left?" Li Jingxuan asked.

"Yes, right after they saw Father leaving." Li Juanxin responded

"They are really persistent." Li Zhang said with a sigh.

After walking outside the Li resistance, Li Jain releases the flying carriage, get in, and drives off. His destination was Qingyang town. He was going to pick up Li Cheng and to also dig up the formation, which serves as the entrance to the secret realm.

Unlike the time where they spent over fifteen hours on the way to South River City, it took Li Jain six hours to reach Qingyang two at full speed.

He landed outside the broken walls of his tavern and was surprised to see familiar guests at the scene.

"Hello? What are you old fellows doing here?" Li Jain asked as he approached them.

"Oh, it’s you, Xiao Jain. You’re back." boss Lan said excitedly.

"Yes, I came for something." He pauses when he catches some figures from the corner of his eyes digging and removing stones from his house ruins: "What are those guys doing?" He asked puzzledly.

"Oh, hahaha." Boss Lan laughed awkwardly: "They are digging in the ruins for treasures."

"Digging treasures in the ruins of my house?" Li Jain was speechless. It wasn’t like his house was on some secret ground or spirit stone mine.

"Believe it or not, they had found some goodies in the past few days." Boss Lan said with a smile.

Li Jain: "I just left three days ago. Isn’t it too soon to start digging out the formation of my house?"

"Why not?" Boss Lan replied, scratching his chin: "After all, owner Li isn’t a simple cultivator. How could these poor cultivators miss such a rare opportunity?"

"What have they found?" Li Jian asked, he couldn’t think of anything under those stones that could be considered treasures.

Boss Lan: "They uncover some scripts about enlightenments. I didn’t expect you to have such things laying around. There were also talismans, and a few pills. I’m even convinced that there are treasures in these ruins."

Li Jain suddenly realized and nodded. Those were things from his study. He didn’t have the time to take out those books before the house was broken down. But they weren’t that rare to him, so he didn’t mine.

"There were so many of those books. But since you left them here, I figured they weren’t important to you, so I didn’t stop them." Boss Lan explained.

Li Jain waves his hand: "No problem. But can you dismiss them for now? I need to use this place for a while."

"Sure, sure, no problem." Boss Lan said and walked to the cultivators. It was unknown what he said, but their faces flush and they quickly left.
