Chapter 145 - 144: The Eaglet’s Reality

Chapter 145 - 144: The Eaglet’s Reality

The little creature blinked its bright green eyes, tilting its small head in confusion.

’Scout?’ It seems to like that name.

Li Zhang: "The Sky Splitting Eaglet likes the name, but it wants to be called Scout."

Hearing Li Zhang’s words, Li Juanxin pinched Li Jingxuan’s arm: "See? and you said my naming skills weren’t reliable."

"Although the eaglet accepted it, didn’t it make some changes?" Li Jingxuan frowned.

"The beast likes it and that’s that. Why bother with the little details?" Li Juanxin shrugged

The eaglet fluffed up its feathers a few times. Li Zhang thought it wanted to fly and brought it closer to his face: "Little one, are you ready for your first flight?"

"Can it even fly?" Li Jingxuan was skeptical: "It looks like it needs a nap more than a flight."

Li Juanxin shot a glare at him: "It was just born, what do you expect?"

The eaglet was motivated by Li Juanxin’s words and flapped its tiny wings determinedly. It bound into the air, flying a few feet before collapsing onto the ground.

"Ouch!" It shrieked, shaking its tiny head.

"Hahaha, I knew it. Look how pathetic it is." Li Jingxuan laughs uncontrollably. Li Juanxin was too lazy to pay attention to him so roll his and ignore him.

The eaglet was also stubborn, after falling a few times it still gave up. Finally, after countless tries, it is able to fly long distances. It flapped its delicate wings, sending a gust of air that ruffled Li Zhang’s hair.

"Master!" Scout chirped again yearning, with a hint of helplessness in its voice.

Li Zhang ignored the creature’s unwillingness and raised an eyebrow: "Yes, what do you want?"

"Hungry!" It replied, small claws curled adorably as it searched the area for something to devour.

Li Jingxuan chuckled: "Looks like it’s going to be a handful. Good luck on becoming a master!" Li Jingxuan and left.

As a foodie himself, how can he tolerate a beast that can eat just as much? The little jealousy he was feeling because he didn’t have a beast disappeared at this moment. He was really looking forward to watching his fourth brother’s ’good’ days.

The eaglet glanced around with its wide eyes, fixated on the kitchen door. Without a moment’s hesitation, it darted toward the kitchen, its tiny wings were blurred and one could barely make up its appearance.

"Hey! Come back!" Li Zhang lunged forward, but the eaglet had already flown through the small opening and entered the kitchen.

It landed on the table, there just happens to be a plate of steamed fish on the counter.

"Doesn’t matter how cute you are, no stealing!" Li Yuhan exclaimed as he opened the kitchen door.

"Ugh, what have I gotten myself into?" Li Zhang groaned, but luckily for him, something unexpected happened.

Just as the eaglet pounced on the fish, it was slapped away by a fox’s paw.

"Hey!" Scout cried out, flapping its wings in frustration.

"What are you, tiny bird? Get out of here!" Fluffy stood up, baring its teeth at the eaglet.

The eaglet was taken aback, it didn’t expect to encounter such a fierce fox here. It was a bit scary to go forward.

"Don’t scare him, Fluffy." Li Juanxin follows Li Zhang, and immediately went forward when he saw the scene, afraid that Fluffy would really teach the newborn eaglet a lesson.

"This is Scout, Fourth brother’s pet. He just broke out of his shells." Li Juanxin introduces them.

"Oh," Fluffy sat back down, not really interested in the new member of the family. It thought it only had to deal with that terrifying snake but now came an eagle. It really wasn’t generous about shearing its territory.

"Fluffy, why are you here?" Li Yuhan asked, noticing the problem.

"I followed the master in, but was mistakenly locked in. So, I decided to wait and have this fish as compensation, who would have thought this little thing would come in and want to snatch it?" Fluffy snorted.

"Master, I’m hungry." Scout flew to Li Zhang and complained.

"It’s ok, let’s find Father and see what you can eat." Li Zhang said and took the eaglet out.

But after searching the house, he still didn’t see his father’s figure: "Uncle Xiong, have you seen my dad?"

Liu Xiong, who was sitting on the roof, looked down and replied: "Yeah, he just left to see the Li ancestor."

"He went to see my great grandfather? I wonder what’s wrong..." Li Zhang muttered worriedly.

His worry wasn’t unnecessary, after all, his father was kicked out by their grandparents before he left. Although he didn’t know the exact reason, he knew that his father and most of the family members weren’t on good terms.

"It’s not a big deal. He just went to send his greetings." Liu Xiong said and looked at the small bird on Li Zhang’s shoulder: "Is that the Sky Splitting Eagle? Let me take a closer look."

The eaglet was terrified by Liu Xiong’s deadly aura and luckily hid behind Li Zhang. How come there are so many scary people here? Just when it thought it had hidden, the next moment it found itself in front of Liu Xiong, almost losing its soul.

"There doesn’t seem to be anything special about it. But it could be because it is still young." Liu Xiong said he studies the eaglet.

The eaglet was trembling, but being in the open with nowhere to hide, it didn’t know what to do. Luckily, Liu Xiong didn’t tease it. As soon as it was released, it clung tightly to Li Zhang’s shoulder as if it were a lifeline.

Only after a brief moment of calming down did it finally gather enough courage to poke its head out from behind Li Zhang’s hair, narrowing its beady eyes at Liu Xiong.

Liu Xiong chuckled, not minding the eaglet’s cowardly behavior: "Do you need your dad for something urgent?"

Li Zhang pointed at the eaglet and said: "He said he’s hungry. I’m looking for Dad to give it something to eat."

"Can it speak already? That’s impressive. Here, let it have this." Liu Xiong took a fruit from his ring and casually threw it at Li Zhang.

Li Zhang caught the fruit and said: "Thank you, Uncle Xiong." He didn’t know what kind of fruit it was, but since it was Liu Xiong who gave it, then it should be something good for the eaglet.

The eaglet was also looking at the fruit curiously. Li Zhang turned to return to the house but was quickly stopped by the eaglet who remembered the fox. What if the fox is interested in the fruit and snatches it away?

After all, it was well aware of its current strength and knew it couldn’t beat the fox. It gestured for Li Zhang to feed it the food; Li Zhang had no choice but to hold the fruit while the eaglet eats.

The fruit was golden, neither hard nor too soft, and it tasted really good. The eaglet’s eyes lit up when it took the first bite and closed its eyes in enjoyment.

What it didn’t know is that, what it was eating now is the Enlightenment Fruit, something that even cultivators in the Holy Master Realm still soar after.

...

Knock, knock, knock

Li Jain knocks on the door of his grandfather.

A while later, a voice came from within, telling him to enter.
