He felt that the probability of failure was quite high because ten was already a large number.

Feeling uneasy, he suddenly closed his eyes and turned over the card. The surrounding crowd erupted, voices filled with surprise and astonishment, bringing a trace of delight to his heart. He quickly opened his eyes.

He saw that his card was also a ten. Instantly, the young man’s face displayed a mix of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, all emotions plainly visible.

"You won, go pick a gift you like." Gu Nuan said to him at this moment.

What?

Anthony was puzzled.

"You’re a spade, he’s a club. Spades are greater than clubs."

The adult acting as the casino owner nodded in agreement to Gu Nuan’s words. Anthony’s dejected face immediately transformed, and he ran forward, picking up the largest gift box under the Christmas tree. He ran back, saying to Gu Nuan, "I know there’s an airplane inside, we can play together."

The other children saw that Anthony won and were all envious, claiming it was unfair. However, when Anthony brought Gu Nuan in, no one had said anything, assuming that Gu Nuan wouldn’t know anything and would surely lose.

Every gamble can be calculated with precise probability. Moreover, this gambling table was intentionally designed to train these children’s abilities.

When Gu Nuan came in, she’d already noticed that the casino owner deliberately showed the order of the cards to the children before shuffling and placing them.

It’s a bit hard for the children, but not for the adults.

The adults observing admired Gu Nuan’s performance, whispering among themselves.

Zhong Qiaohui was annoyed by their unintelligible language.

Anthony, holding Gu Nuan’s hand, went to the small bar in the corner to get snacks and drinks, saying, "They’re all saying that you don’t seem like a deaf person."

Everyone here knew she was deaf.

"You’re amazing." Anthony said, smiling as he looked up at her.

A male servant passed by them with a tray, accidentally brushing against Gu Nuan. She dodged cleverly. The other party repeatedly bowed and apologized.

Gu Nuan turned to see that it was indeed the person who had broken a plate earlier that afternoon.

This man seemed quite old, likely in his fifties.

Anthony shouted angrily at the man, "Get going, what are you staying here for!"

"Yes, young master." The middle-aged man bowed, carrying the tray as he left.

Gu Nuan acted as if nothing had happened.

Anthony continued to look up at her and asked, "If I randomly pick another card, can you make me win?"

"Probably."

"Can you make me lose?"

"Probably."

"That’s not fun at all. You know everything, all of it—" Anthony caught himself, realizing his voice was too loud, quickly covering his mouth, then whispering, "If you were to gamble with the fox, do you think you’d win?"

Fox?

Gu Nuan squinted her eyes: "Does your family worship the fox spirit?"

"Fox spirit?"

"Like that one—" Gu Nuan indicated with her eyes towards a fox mask hanging on a wall in the bridge room.

"Not a fox spirit, just a fox." Anthony said, "Here, the best player can wear that fox mask as the casino owner."

Gu Nuan squinted, not asking who here had the qualifications to wear the fox mask. She knew for sure this child wouldn’t know.

Bending down, Gu Nuan hooked her finger at the boy: "Tomorrow morning, you mustn’t tell anyone about secretly flying the airplane."

"Okay." Anthony nodded. To ensure he wouldn’t back out, he handed her the airplane’s box, saying, "This is for you to keep."

Gu Nuan didn’t take the box with the toy airplane, saying, "Why don’t you bring it to my room for me?"

"It’s my honor to serve such a lady." Anthony hopped off the stool, bowing to her like a little knight.

After lingering in the bridge room for a while longer, Gu Nuan got up to leave.

In the evening, just before she was about to sleep, Tang Sili came to her room with a medicine box for a routine blood pressure check.

Tang Shaohong also came along.

Gu Nuan suddenly said to the two of them, "We might not be able to leave tomorrow as planned."

Needless to say, her words startled them both.

Gu Nuan squinted her eyes; they had unknowingly walked into a fox’s den.

"What should we do?" Tang Shaohong couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious, swallowing hard.

Tang Sili’s expression was grave. He almost suspected that Gu Nuan had come here knowing it was dangerous, yet she insisted on coming anyway.

"As for who is being held here, I’m not sure if they’re someone I know."

What? Tang Shaohong was even more shocked—were there prisoners secretly held here?

However, everyone here seemed so noble, so elegant and well-mannered.

"Alright, just be more careful. I’ll think about what to do next." Gu Nuan waved her hand at them.

As Tang Shaohong walked out, his face was hard to keep composed.

Tang Sili slowly packed the medical box, watching as Gu Nuan stood by, opening the gift box that contained the toy airplane.
