Chapter 1050 - 59: Surgery

Chapter 1050 - 59: Surgery

The next morning. The sky outside was still dim, but Zimei suddenly sat up.

She anxiously reached out to feel around, and only when her hand grasped the man’s arm did she breathe a sigh of relief.

It turned out that everything that happened last night was not a dream.

She was so afraid that those things were too beautiful, and in the end, just her imagination.

The comforting sound of the man’s breathing came to her ears, Zimei lay down again, tightly embraced Ye Cheng’s waist, and closed her eyes.

Today is the day of the surgery, she lay down but couldn’t fall back asleep, her heart still uneasy.

After breakfast, the two headed to the hospital together.

By this time, Zimei had changed into a hospital gown and was lying on a mobile bed. On the way to the operating room, she held Ye Cheng’s hand tightly, reluctant to let go.

"A Cheng, I love you." This was the last thing she wanted to say before entering the operating room.

Ye Cheng kissed the back of her hand, "Don’t worry, the surgery will definitely be successful."

What Zimei could not see was that Ye Cheng was lying on a mobile bed just like her, they would both be wheeled into the operating room together.

The surgery lasted six hours.

When Zimei was pushed out, she was still in an anesthetic coma.

Similarly, Ye Cheng, after the surgery, took several hours to wake up. When he opened his eyes, he found himself lying on a hospital bed, his left eye feeling a slight pain.

He instinctively raised his hand to touch, and felt the bandage covering it. He turned his eyeball, and only then did his vision shift from the ceiling. Seeing with one eye, he still felt very uncomfortable.

Ye Cheng lay there for a while before his consciousness was fully awake.

Thinking of Zimei, he suddenly sat up.

Seeing a nurse was just beside the bed, he immediately asked, "Where’s my girlfriend? How is she doing?"

The nurse did not know that Zimei was his girlfriend, and after a few seconds of confusion, she said, "Sir, are you referring to the lady who entered the operating room with you? She’s in the next room and hasn’t woken up yet."

Upon hearing this, Ye Cheng lifted the blanket and got out of bed.

"Sir, you’ve just gone through surgery; you need to rest properly..."

Ignoring the nurse’s advice, Ye Cheng walked directly to the next room in his hospital gown.

Professor Berlant was checking on Zimei’s condition. Hearing the commotion at the door, he looked back.

Seeing it was Ye Cheng, the professor gave him a friendly smile, "Mr. Ye, how do you feel? Are you experiencing any discomfort?"

Ye Cheng shook his head, though his face was still somewhat pale.

The burning pain in his left eye remained, but he was more concerned about Zimei’s condition at this moment.

Zimei’s eyes were covered with a white bandage, she lay there quietly.

Professor Berlant saw the worry in his eyes and voluntarily said, "Mr. Ye, don’t worry, Miss Zimei’s surgery went very smoothly."

"When will she be able to see?" Ye Cheng walked over, bent down to hold Zimei’s hand, and asked softly.

"The patient is still in the observation phase right now, we need to see how she recovers. If everything goes well, in half a month the bandages should be able to be removed."

Hearing the professor say this, Ye Cheng finally breathed a slight sigh of relief.

He stayed by Zimei’s bedside, worried that she would be anxious if she couldn’t find him when she woke up.

Unconsciously, the sky outside grew dark, Zimei’s fingers moved slightly, and her consciousness began to return.

She noticed that something was covering her eyes, but she was still not quite aware of her surroundings.

"A Cheng?"

Feeling the warmth of his palms holding her hand, she tentatively called out.

Ye Cheng had fallen asleep leaning against the bed head, hearing her voice, not even opening his eyes, he instinctively responded, "I’m here."
