Chapter 377: In a Race with Time
Chapter 377: In a Race with Time
Lin Xuan Qi didn’t waste time and completed the paperwork on the spot.
After which, Registrar Lim handed him the keys and said, "Here are the keys to the lock.
"You can unlock it, remove the seals and use the property as you wish from now on."
When Lin Xuan Qi received the keys from Registrar Lim, a familiar sound erupted in his mind and words appeared in it.
[Congratulations to host for procuring new property.]
[Host is unbeatable within its compound.]
[Bonus of 50 Five-Element Stones delivered.]
[Keep up the good work!]
He was glad when he saw the information on the system’s information panel.
The bonus of the hundred and fifty Five-Element Stones from buying the properties was a pleasant addition to the ones he had gotten so far from the system.
He had used up around twenty five of the Five-Element Stones himself and he was already at Qi Concentration Level Mid Stage.
All of these Five-Element Stones would go a long way for him and the others.
"Thank you so much, Registrar Lim." Lin Xuan Qi cupped his hands at Registrar Lim and got out from the building.
But it wasn’t over for him.
There was more to be done.
Lin Xuan Qi and Lee He Song got back to the warehouse and they started to work on it.
Old Shao with the other carpenters and iron smiths were activated.
They started to build whatever was needed for the place to be operational as soon as possible.
Lee He Song stayed behind to help supervise the progress while Lin Xuan Qi went to Fei Luo’s place.
With the new factory, he needed more workers to help increase the production for the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence.
This time he had enough skilled workers to take care of the new ones and so he figured that it would be most efficient for him to find the workers from the slave brokerage.
He was right about the decision.
There were many who couldn’t pay for the autumn tax and they had to sell themselves to the slave brokerage so that their families could survive through the winter.
After he had checked and negotiated with Fei Luo, Lin Xuan Qi agreed to the deal of a tael of silver for each slave he would get.
"Here is the payment." Lin Xuan Qi said while his guards placed the half-filled wooden chest onto the ground.
"Thank you so much.
"Your fifty slaves will be ready by tomorrow."
Fei Luo rubbed his hands at the taels of silver and gave a huge grin at Lin Xuan Qi.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and turned around.
He wanted to get out of the slave brokerage as soon as possible.
It was uneasy for him inside the dark and gloomy slave brokerage, even though he had been at the place so many times.
Fei Luo bowed at him while he got further away.
Lin Xuan Qi was one of his biggest customers by now and he wouldn’t want to anger him.
He stood up straight and snarled at his men.
"Hurry up and get what Master Lin needs."
...
By the time Lin Xuan Qi got back to the new factory, Old Shao and the other carpenters and iron smiths were half done with their work.
There were stoves created, and the necessary racks in the storage areas.
Lee He Song had gotten the other items that were required like the pots and woks to be used for production.
Workers from the current factories also chimed in to help with the construction of a makeshift dormitory for the new workers.
Things were in a flurry and time went by quickly.
"Stop for the day, everyone." Lin Xuan Qi called out to all the workers when he saw the sun setting and the light wasn’t optimal anymore for them to work.
They would only have candlelight to help them see in the dark but it would be hazardous for them to continue working.
The progress was going well enough for Lin Xuan Qi and he didn’t want to risk it.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and gave out a long cry when they arched their backs or stretched out their arms.
It was a long and tiring day for them working non-stop on the new factory.
"Have a good rest for the night, there will be more to be done tomorrow." Lin Xuan Qi said and they nodded their heads at him with a smile.
They felt great to be able to repay the kindness that Lin Xuan Qi had shown them when they were down and out.
Their lives were changed because of him and this was nothing as a reciprocal gesture compared to what Lin Xuan Qi had given them.
"I think we can be done by tomorrow." Old Shao came up to Lin Xuan Qi and said while he marveled at his own handiwork.
Lin Xuan Qi bowed to his father-in-law and said, "Thank you so much for your help, father."
Old Shao waved his hands at him and said, "I’m just doing my job."
He felt great to be able to contribute with his hands and he was more than glad to be able to do so.
"However, I might not be able to help if I had grandchildren to take care of." Old Shao glanced at him and said, which caught Lin Xuan Qi blindsided.
Lin Xuan Qi faked a smile at Old Shao and said, "I’m sure it will happen soon."
He didn’t expect Old Shao to be more anxious than he was about having kids of his own.
But he understood where it came from.
The idea of getting married and having lots of kids was deeply ingrained in the psyche of the people in the Da Qian Dynasty.
It would take a tremendous amount of effort to convince them otherwise.
Lin Xuan Qi wasn’t going to do that as he was indeed in need of expanding his Clan with his own bloodline.
"Let’s get back to the mansion for dinner.
"Xue Cong must be waiting for us to have dinner together."
He said and Old Shao nodded his head.
