Chapter 213: Surprise or Not
Chapter 213: Surprise or Not
Leo Finn maintained a smile as he walked up to Aidan Sinclair. "I heard Mr. Sinclair delayed his cooperation with The Lawson Group for this matter. Don’t you think the loss is a bit too much?"
Aidan Sinclair also smiled. "Our family tradition is such that family is the most important. It seems a bit different from your family, so you might not understand. After all, not everyone can be like your family, knowing well that Yvonne Finn is a lesbian, yet forcing her to marry a man she barely knew for two months for the sake of the family’s business development."
He completely ignored the worsening expression on Leo Finn’s face, continuing, "When I heard about this, I thought your family longed for a feudal society."
Leo Finn took a deep breath, trying to ignore Aidan’s string of sarcasm. "If Mr. Sinclair is willing to lift the embargo on The Finn Family imposed by major banks, we are willing to directly yield shares to make you our stakeholder. You know, ’Taste of Celestia’ is sponsored by our family. In the past two years, the revenue from our restaurants around the world is evident."
"I’m really sorry, but the one who loved to eat was my sister, and unfortunately, she died saving your niece forced into marriage. Moreover, I have no interest in the shares of The Finn Family. I won’t become one of your stakeholders, and soon, I’ll persuade your stakeholders to leave. You should advise your father to stop hosting such banquets; it’s a waste of money. At his age, he should maintain his reputation in his twilight years."
If there were a bold performance contest, Aidan Sinclair would come second, and no one would dare claim first.
It was impressive that Leo Finn didn’t faint from anger in front of him.
Seeing Aidan Sinclair about to leave, Leo took a deep breath and chased after him. "You may not care, but does Ethan Sterling not care? You can exert such pressure on The Finn Family because of your alliance with Ethan Sterling. What if The Sterling Group withdraws? Do you still dare to say such words?"
Aidan Sinclair’s smile suddenly faded. "Leo Finn, right? Do you know who you’re talking to?" His gaze dropped to the hand Leo was holding him with.
Leo felt an inexplicable chill, quickly letting go, barely maintaining his composure, and said, "Could you pass a message to Mr. Sterling? Rhonda Sullivan is in my hands."
Aidan Sinclair rolled his eyes and quickly left The Finn Family, thinking to himself, Ethan Sterling really isn’t efficient in his actions. Why is Rhonda Sullivan involved everywhere?
Once in the car, he impatiently asked his assistant and driver, "Is Rhonda Sullivan the former CEO of The Sullivan Group?"
"Yes."
"Look into what’s going on with her recently."
"I heard she went to a mental hospital a while back. Not many people know, but I did hear about it," Lisa, Aidan Sinclair’s beautiful assistant, said.
Because Lisa usually had to handle various news events involving Naomi Sinclair, she had many channels for information collection. Since Naomi had a notable relationship with Ethan Sterling for a while, he, as her ex-boyfriend, also became a part of the intelligence gathering.
Upon seeing this email, Lisa remembered to instruct her subordinates not to focus on these matters anymore.
It was a premium piece of news, and although she didn’t know much, it remained memorable.
"Oh," Aidan Sinclair laughed. "Go carefully investigate this woman. She seems to have some ties with The Finn Family."
"Certainly."
On his way home, Aidan Sinclair called Ethan Sterling and was a bit annoyed to hear that Ethan was taking his wife and kids to Wonderland. He immediately informed him of the bad news.
Ethan Sterling furrowed his brows as he had expected someone to eventually target Rhonda Sullivan, but he didn’t anticipate it happening so quickly.
Aidan Sinclair enjoyed the silence on the other end. "Isn’t it surprising?"
Listening to his gloating tone, Ethan Sterling frowned and directly hung up. After pondering for a moment, he called Howard, instructing him to head to the hospital and find Rhonda Sullivan’s whereabouts as soon as possible.
Ruby Sullivan finished her washing and came back to change, noticing his troubled expression. "Is something wrong back home?"
Ethan Sterling shook his head, "It’s nothing. Are the kids ready?"
"Almost." Observing his expression, she knew it wasn’t as light as he made it seem but didn’t want these matters to ruin their trip.
As they stepped out of the room, they discovered that Seth Sterling, who showed little interest in going to Wonderland last night, was dressed as Batman today, with his shiny black combat boots.
Because they’re custom-made with soft soles, walking in them is much more comfortable than regular dress shoes. They’ll probably be fine for a trip to Wonderland.
It was Honey’s first time seeing Seth dressed like this, and her eyes were wide open with admiration. "Brother, you look like a hero in that outfit."
Seth Sterling’s lips pressed together, clearly trying to suppress a smile. "Not bad. I’ll look more like one with the helmet on."
Half a year ago, for his birthday, Ethan Sterling had specially contacted a designer to make a custom outfit for Seth. Although Seth had grown a lot recently, the pants still fit just enough. When Seth found the outfit, he hesitated but decided to wear it, thinking it might not fit next year.
He hadn’t expected to receive his little sister’s compliments, making him a bit proud.
"If Honey likes it, we can make a Catwoman costume for you, so it matches your brother," Ethan Sterling suggested.
"I want a Catwoman costume!" Honey was instantly overjoyed.
Ethan Sterling patted her head. "Daddy will find someone to make it for you."
Hearing this, Seth couldn’t help but ask, "Actually, could I get another pair of pants? These will be short next year."
"No problem."
Honey twirled around her brother, clearly loving it. "Brother, will you take pictures with Batman today?"
Seth was amused by her naive demeanor, smiling as he patted her head. "Silly sister, there’s no Batman at Wonderland. Batman’s a big hero."
Honey didn’t understand why a big hero couldn’t be at Wonderland, just felt it was a shame her brother couldn’t take a picture with Batman.
The whole family arrived at Wonderland before opening time. To fulfill their daughter’s wishes, they felt it was no bother to wait outside. Honey was exceptionally thrilled, asking her parents to take pictures of her continuously at the entrance.
Ruby Sullivan’s earlier anxiety vanished. Maybe it’s because this place is so enchanting that it lets her immerse herself and forget many unhappy things.
Even though it was a weekday, Wonder Park was still bustling with people, including plenty of international visitors. Seth’s outfit drew more attention than the park’s mascots, even attracting young boys who came over for photos.
Seth initially just wanted an occasion to wear the outfit, unexpectedly enjoying some popularity akin to being a celebrity.
Ruby Sullivan watched from the sidelines, thinking her son was quite the introverted charmer at such a young age. What will he be like when he grows up?
