Chased By My Billionaire Ex-husband

Chapter 186: I Will Protect Evander

Chapter 186: I Will Protect Evander

Evander’s POV

"Claire," I murmured back as my voice was rough and low. I brushed my thumb over her bottom lip, watching as her breath hitched. "I have waited so long for this. For you."

Claire’s hands slid up to my shoulders, her touch sending shivers down my spine. "Then don’t stop," she said, her voice barely audible but filled with need.

I didn’t need to be told twice. I kissed her again; this time it was slow but more intense than the last. My hands roamed her back, memorizing every curve of her body as if I could imprint her into my skin. She responded with the same urgency, her nails lightly scraping against the back of my neck, sending a jolt of heat straight through me.

The room felt too small and too hot, yet I never wanted to leave. Every touch, every kiss, every breath we shared felt like coming home.

When we finally broke apart again, we were both trembling, our breaths coming in ragged gasps. I rested my forehead against hers, my hands still gripping her waist like she might vanish if I let go.

Diana and Susan had hurt Claire so much that I was afraid that if I would leave her alone, they might hurt her, but seeing her, all my emotions overcame me as I couldn’t help but kiss her.

The tension between us was evident, as we couldn’t ignore the electricity building up inside us.

Diana and Susan had hurt Claire so deeply that the thought of leaving her alone, even for a moment, filled me with fear of losing her once again. But now, as I stood before her, all my fears and worries faded. All I needed was to be close to her, to protect her, and to show her how much she meant to me.

"Claire," I said softly, my voice rough with emotion. "Do... Do I have your consent?"

Claire

nodded, her hands reaching up to rest on my chest. I could feel the warmth of her touch through my shirt, and it sent a shiver down my spine. Without a word, I slid my hands down to her waist, pulling her closer until there was no space between us.

Her breath hitched, and I could feel her heart racing against mine. My hands moved to the hem of her blouse, and I hesitated, giving her a chance to stop me if she wanted to. But she didn’t. Instead, she reached up and began unbuttoning my shirt, her fingers trembling slightly as she worked.

I helped her, shrugging out of the fabric and letting it fall to the floor. Her hands immediately went to my chest, her touch sending sparks through me. I returned the favor, slowly unbuttoning her blouse and sliding it off her shoulders. Her skin was soft and warm under my hands, and I couldn’t resist trailing my fingers along her collarbone, down her arms, and back up to her shoulders.

She shivered under my touch, her eyes never leaving mine. I could see the trust in her gaze, the love, and it made my heart swell. I leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her shoulder before moving to the clasp of her bra. It came undone easily, and I let the fabric fall away, revealing her to me.

Claire was beautiful, more beautiful than I remembered, and I took a moment to just look at her, to memorize every curve, every line of her body. Her cheeks flushed under my gaze, but she didn’t look away. Instead, she reached for the waistband of my pants, her fingers fumbling slightly as she undid the button and zipper.

I stepped back just long enough to kick off my shoes and step out of my pants, leaving me in just my boxers. She did the same, her movements slow and deliberate, as if she wanted to savor every moment. When she stood before me, completely bare, I felt a surge of emotion so strong it nearly knocked me off my feet.

I closed the distance between us again, my hands sliding around her waist to pull her close. Her skin was like fire against mine, and I couldn’t resist the urge to touch her, to explore every inch of her. My hands roamed her back, her hips, and her thighs, and she arched into me, a soft sigh escaping her lips.

I guided her gently to the bed, laying her down and hovering over her. Her eyes were dark with desire, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she looked up at me. I trailed my fingers down her stomach, watching as her muscles tensed under my touch.

"Evan." she whispered in a trembling tone.

"I am here," I murmured, my voice low and steady. "I am not going anywhere."

I kissed her. I kissed her on the lips, on her neck, her collarbone, and her chest. My lips and hands moved over her body, worshiping her and showing her without words how much she meant to me. She gasped and moaned under my touch, her hands gripping my shoulders, my arms, and my back, as if she were afraid I would disappear.

When I finally moved between her legs, she was trembling, her breath coming in short with ragged gasps. I looked up at her, my eyes locking with hers, and I saw the trust, the love, and the need reflected back at me.

"I love you," I said, my voice rough with emotion.

"I love you too," she whispered back.

And then I was inside her, and the world fell away. There was only her, only us, only this moment. Our bodies moved together, slow at first, then faster with more urgency, as if we were trying to make up for all the time we had lost.

Her nails dug into my back, her breath hot against my neck as she moaned my name continuously. I buried my face in her hair, breathing in her scent, her warmth was making me go crazy.

Claire’s POV

I had gone to meet Evander and Eliam because I missed them so much it felt like a part of me was missing. But what I hadn’t expected was this— this intense, overwhelming moment with Evander that left me breathless and trembling.

Now, lying on the bed after a hot session, I could hear the soft sound of water running in the washroom as Evander was washing up. The room was still warm, and the scent of our scents still lingered. I couldn’t help but replay every moment in my mind.

I hid my face in my palms, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks. My whole body felt like it was on fire, and I was sure I must have turned crimson from head to toe. But it wasn’t just embarrassment I felt— but because I felt shy as I didn’t know how to face him.

My heart was still racing, my skin still tingling from his touch. His kisses, his caress, and every word he whispered had left an indelible mark on me. It wasn’t just on my body; but on my soul.

Evander had always had this effect on me, but this time felt different. It felt like we’d crossed a line, like we’d finally laid everything bare— and this time with pure love, no misunderstanding and anything.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my thoughts, but it was impossible. My mind kept drifting back to the way he had looked at me, his eyes were filled with so much love and need that it had taken my breath away. The way his hands had roamed my body, not just with desire, but with reverence, as if I was something precious and irreplaceable.

And then there were his words—those three little words. "I love you."

I curled up under the sheets, pulling them tightly around me as if they could shield me from the whirlwind of emotions inside me. But they couldn’t. Nothing could.

I loved him. I had always loved him, more than anything in the world.

After all the pain and heartache, it felt like we were finally building something.

And for this little something, I was ready to fight the whole world who was out to hurt us.

No one would ever be able to hurt my love! They were able to do so in the past, but not now!

I know why Evander was so on edge today. He must have gotten the news of Diana’s release. He must have been scared. But this time I will keep him safe.

I will protect Evander!

I was still in my thoughts when I noticed the sound of the water stopped, and I heard the bathroom door open. I quickly hid my face. But when he walked back into the room, his hair damp and his chest bare, I couldn’t help but look at him.

He paused when he saw me, his expression softening. "Hey," he said quietly, walking over to the bed. "You okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

I nodded, though my throat felt tight. "Yeah," I whispered then shook my head in ’no’. "I am not hurt. I was just thinking something."

He sat down on the edge of the bed, his hand reaching out to brush a strand of hair from my face. "About what?"

I hesitated, then sighed. "About us. I just... I don’t want to lose this moment, Evander. I don’t want to lose you."

His eyes filled with emotion, and he leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. "You won’t," he said firmly. " As I said I am not going anywhere, Claire."
