CHAPTER SIXTY

ACE'S POV

"Sophia I am sick and tired of having you playing victim every single time. For Christ's sake, you started all this!" I scold as I storm into my bedroom with Sophia following closely behind.

"And how am I not the victim? I'm the one who is being despised and ignored by you, who is supposed to be my fiancé!"

"You brought this upon yourself! What did you think? That you'd sabotage my relationship with Luna and I'll suddenly welcome you again with open arms and shower you with all the love and affection in the world?"

"Ace I was losing you, I had to do something!"

"And a sex video was the best option. Only God knows what you did to me that night to get you to have sex with you, but that's not important. You wanted Luna and I to separate right? Well, congratulations to you, you won! You want us to get married right? In a few weeks, that dream of yours will be fulfilled, but know this, you will never have my attention neither will you have my love again. Sooner or later, you will beg for a divorce because of how badly I will treat you in this marriage. You think you have succeeded in getting us together? Spoiler alert, you just created a rift between us, a rift that cannot be closed" I explain angrily and I freak out when she suddenly holds her mouth and rushes into my bathroom and does only God knows what.

I roll my eyes as I follow her and when I get there, I am astonished to find her puking her guts in the toilet pot. I rush to her and stoop by her side.

"Are you okay?" I am concerned.

"Do I look okay to you" She asks furiously as she turns to face me and that's when I realize that she is not okay at all. She has got sleeping bags beneath her eyes and she doesn't have one ... wait...

Holy crap! Sophia doesn't have on makeup.

That is such an irony!

She even looks sick.

"Sophia what's wrong?" I ask worried as she flushes the toilet and stands up. She walks over to the sink where she rinses her mouth and then turns to me.

"What do you care?"

"Sophia let's not do this right now, as much as I'm mad at you right now, I still don't want anything bad to happen to you, so tell me what's wrong" I insist and she walks over to me. When she is close enough, she opens her hand bag and takes out an envelope from it.

"I found out earlier today"

"Found out what?" I ask confused.

"What do you see in the envelope?" I open the envelope and the first thing I see is an ultrasound photo of a uterus.

I know it's an ultrasound photo because I have seen a lot of Luna's... wait.

Uterus

Sophia's Uterus.

Crap!

"No!" I deny as I shake my head.

"Yes Ace, I'm four weeks pregnant, so the earlier you start treating me like you should, the better. You wouldn't want to disappoint your child, would you?" She asks with a satisfactory smile and walks out of the bathroom. I tiredly sit on the floor and stare intensely at the photo in my hand.

Nothing has ever felt so wrong like this pregnancy.

I am doomed!

LUNA'S POV

"Alora I'm going to check out the book section" I announce and she nods as she continues to admire the baby toys. I'll soon be getting into my third trimester, so I need to prepare myself. Mum recommended some pregnancy books so I'm here to get them.

Also, Alora has been bugging me about baby shopping so I decided we will come get some baby stuff.

I walk to the book section where I see a blonde lady holding a book which I read during my first trimester and it was very helpful.

"I will personally recommend the book you're holding. It's genius"

I say to the lady who's currently backing me and she turns to look at me.

The smile on my face fades away when I see her face but her smile widens.

"Luna!" She calls enthusiastically.

Turn around and run. My subconscious mind screams but my legs betray me as they remain glued to the spot.

Sophia takes calculated steps towards and when she is close enough, she stops.

"You have no idea how happy I am to meet you here"

"It's rather unfortunate that the feeling isn't mutual" I fire back and she smiles.

"That's still okay," She says, shrugging her shoulders. "You said something about this book being genius, are you really sure about that?"

"Yes, I am. What do you even need it for?" I ask carelessly with creased brows and she chuckles as she rubs her tummy that is almost unnoticeable because of her skinny nature.

I wonder how her organs survive in such a skinny body.

"You don't think you are the only fertile woman in the world, do you?"

"Of course I don't!"

"Good, so you see after that pleasurable night with Ace, it so happened that he left something in me. You see, I'm pregnant with Ace's child" She announces with a wicked smile planted in her face and I almost faint.

My heart start hammering in my chest and I can feel my body heat up.

Anger, anger is all I feel. I turn in my heels and walk away from the book section ignoring her mockery laughter.

I'm not going to cry.

This is nothing for me to cry over.

"Luna, look what I..."

"Take me home" I cut Alora off.

"But we..."

"I said I wanna go home!" I scold angrily and every time she stops and turns to look at me.

"Pregnancy hormones" Alora pleads on my behalf and they all continue with what they were doing. "Geez girl, calm down" She coos as we both make our way out of the mall to Alora's car in the parking lot.

"Will you please tell me what's going on?" She asks worriedly but I just ignore her as I get in the car.

"Great!" She says as she sits shotgun and ignites the car engine.

I rest my head on the headrest and burst into tears.

Why do I always lose?

I am nothing but a loser.

A big time loser.

KYLE'S POV

"Your sister was involved in an accident, you need to rush over to Harmony immediately!"

Those words keep buzzing in my mind as I park in the driveway, alight from my car and rush into the hospital lobby over to the receptionist.

"Luna Ramora..."

"Right that way Sir" She points to the corridor and I rush over to it. I find Ace and Asher pacing about the corridor restlessly.

"Kyle!" Ace calls

"What happened? Where's Luna?" I ask almost in years and he walks over to me"

"Kyle you need..."

"Someone answer me! Where's Luna?"

"She's still in there, she's still in there Kyle. She's fighting"

"God! How did this happen?"

"They got involved in an accident," Asher explains.

"They? Who was she with?"

"Alora"

"Oh my God Alora, Alora!" I scream out of no where " where's she? Where's Alora?" I ask panicking.

"Bro, Alora is fine, she sustained a few injuries but she's fine. She stable"

"You sure? Has she been checked properly? We can't lose any of them"

"I can assure you that Alora has been properly checked and right now she's being attended to, now it's Luna we are worried about" Asher explains.

"Luna" I cry as I sit on the floor.

Ace sits by my side and I feel the hatred I harbor towards him evaporate.

He is totally broken, he's very close to losing a child right now.

No man deserves to lose his first offspring

No one deserves this kind of loss.

"Where's Luna?" A weak voice asks and we both turn to look in the direction the voice came from and I'm shocked to see Alora seated on a wheelchair, rolling it towards us with tears in her eyes.

She has a few plasters on her face and bandaged leg.

She looks terribly hurt.

"Alora" Asher calls as he rushes to her. "You are not supposed to be here. Let's get you back to your ..."

"No! I'm fine! I want to know how Luna is holding up. Please don't take me away"

"Sweetie" I call. I go over to her and stoop by her side. "You need to rest"

"You think I haven't tried? I can't rest until I know how Luna and the baby... the baby"

"Alora they will be fine" I assure her.

The emergency room door opens and a doctor walks out of it.

"Doctor how's my sister and the baby doing?"

I ask impatiently as I rush to the doctor. He silently looks at us with the saddest expression on.

"Doctor say something" I scold in tears, almost gripping his lab coat.

"I'm sorry gentlemen"

"Sorry? Sorry for what?" Ace asks as he approaches us.

"We tried our best but we couldn't save them both. We lost the baby"

"No!" Alora screams as she cries hard. Asher, Ace and I just keep staring at the doctor in shock.

"What did you just say?" Ace asks in a calm tone.

"I'm sorry Mr. Ace, but there was nothing we could do"

"Well, there was! You could have saved my baby!" He scolds and I actually tremble.

He is damn mad.

"We are sorry sir"

"No! No" Ace cries as he takes two step backwards and without warning, he connects his fists with the wall over and over again until Asher goes and holds him still.

"Let me go!" He tries to fight back, but Asher holds him still.

"Ace you need to calm down"

"The patient has lost a lot of blood as a result of the bleeding and right now she's in a very critical condition. She suffered from an internal bleeding and we need to carry out a surgery immediately, we need blood to carry out that surgery. Anyone with blood group A here?"

"Here, take mine, take all the blood you need to save Luna!" Ace offers in tears.

"No Ace, you are not in the right state to give out blood." Asher denies. "Doctor take mine instead, I'm a universal donor"

"No! I said take mine, I want to be the one to..."

"Shut the fuck up and listen to me Ace. I know this is hard for you but you need to put your shit together and be strong. When Luna wakes, she's going to need you to be strong for her so be a man! Kyle, get the nurses to take Alora to her ward and make sure Ace does nothing outrageous" Asher commands and leaves with the doctors. Ace quietly sits on the floor emotionless, shocked and I feel very bad for him.

He doesn't deserve this.

"Sweetheart" I call as I walk over to Alora. "You need to rest, let me take you to your room"

"Kyle please tell me it's not true, Luna can't lose the baby" she cries and I stoop by her side and engulf her in a brotherly hug

This is a wound that's going to take forever to heal in our hearts.
