Chapter 264: Ice Goblin Wizards

Chapter 264: Ice Goblin Wizards

A small village. Built right inside the cave. It was smaller than the Winter Village but still an impressive creation.

It shouldn’t be possible to build something of this size in just a few days. It was creation that should take years.

"What in the world..."

Players whispered in shock.

In that moment, they saw the goblins. So many of them. Moving about in the streets of the village.

The blacksmith’s houses were blowing smoke. Weapons after weapons were shipped out. It was like they were preparing for something.

’This feels like they’re preparing for a war.’

Fang Raon thought.

"How long have they actually been here?"

A player asked.

It was the same question as Raon had.

"I might know what this is."

At that moment, a girl said, and the players glanced at her briefly, as they were wondering what she meant by that.

Fang Raon raised an eyebrow, curious about what she might know.

"This might be the place where the locals of the floor were living before the Winter Village. I am not sure if some of you know, but they weren’t originally from the Winter Village.

"Before the Age of Players, hundreds of years ago, the second floor wasn’t actually covered in the snow.

"It was a vibrant forest floor with monstrous beasts roaming the floor, and because of that, the locals had to stay inside the mountains for their own safety.

"If they went outside, they would certainly be eaten by those monstrous beasts.

"However, a few hundred years ago, a long winter came that brought deadly snowstorms that wiped out all the monstrous beasts.

"Once the long winter was over, the whole floor was covered in the snow, and the average temperature had dropped drastically.

"The locals then moved out of the mountains and created the Winter Village, since they didn’t need to worry about the monstrous beasts anymore."

The girl said.

"How do you know all of this?"

Fang Raon asked angrily.

"I am interested in the history of the tower. Every floor has its long history and lore. It is really interesting stuff."

The girl said.

Back in the real world, she was also kind of an history nerd, and she brought that obsession with her here.

"That does make sense. It wouldn’t be possible for the size of this village to be built in a short time, and honestly, I don’t think the Ice Goblins have the capabilities of creating this place."

Fang Raon said.

"...Then, what are we going to do now? There are a lot of Ice Goblins down there."

A player asked.

There was indeed a lot of Ice Goblins. Everywhere they looked. It was now their turn to be heavily undermanned.

"Hmm..."

Fang Raon looked inside the spacious village-inside-the-mountain and saw that there were four exits out of the place.

If it was only one, he already knew what they would be doing, but since there were other exits, it made things more complicated.

"We’ll split into teams of four. Each team goes to a different exit. In all teams, there should be Helpers, Tanks, and Warriors.

"We, the Mages, are going to cause a fire. We’ll shoot Fireballs from where we are, lighting up those wooden structures, and we’ll burn the Ice Goblins to a crisp."

Fang Raon said.

"What are we going to do?"

Rangers asked.

"You guys will kill the Ice Goblin Wizards. They will use their magic to kill off the flames, and your job is to stop them."

Fang Raon said.

"What about us?"

Assassins asked.

"Ice Goblins will attack all four exits, and they might be doing the strategy of focusing all their attacking effort into one exit specifically.

"If they do that, you guys will go support them.

"If that doesn’t happen, attack wherever you want. Cause some chaos. Be careful, and do not get surrounded by the Ice Goblins."

Fang Raon said.

The Assassins nodded.

"Once we’ve caused the fire, we Mages will keep attacking from afar, focusing on large-area damage."

Fang Raon said.

The Mages nodded their heads, and they summoned their grimoires, staffs, and wands from wherever.

"Split into four teams."

Fang Raon said.

Inside the tunnel, the players slowly went into four different teams—evenly distributed—with each team having an equal number of Helpers, Tanks, and Warriors.

Because of the low amount of Helpers, there was basically only one Helper in each team, but there was one extra, so she stayed with Raon’s team.

"Go."

Fang Raon said.

Three teams ran out of the tunnel, ran around the outskirts, avoided the village like the plague, and ran for the exits.

A short while later, the teams had taken their posts, and the Ice Goblins still haven’t discovered them.

"Let’s do this."

Fang Raon said.

In that moment, he and the other Mages cast a Fireballs, and then hurled them across the air as if they were flaming balls.

This time around.

Ice Goblins couldn’t avoid the sight of the Fireballs, even by accident, and they just stared as those Fireballs flew, and crashed into their buildings.

BOOM~! The wooden structures caught fire.

"Gurakah! Cerek!"

Ice Goblins roared, and ran for the well to get some water buckets and water, but then, arrows flew through their brains.

With the Ice Goblins dying one by one, the other goblins noticed it and looked where the arrows came from.

In that moment, they noticed the players—not just a few of them, but a lot over at the entrances.

"ROAR!"

Ice Goblins roared, picked up their weapons, and, using their short legs, started running towards the players.

It was loud with hundreds of feet slapping against the ground, causing the ground to shake as if a giant were stomping a distance away.

"THEY ARE COMING!"

"PREPARE YOURSELVES!"

The players screamed.

Over at the village, a strange hooded Ice Goblin stepped out of the shack with a twirling-top staff in hand.

It looked at the burning houses, and then, the twirling top of the staff started glowing with bluish light.

"Erek Oko Run!"

Ice Goblin Wizard pointed the staff towards the burning house, and water gushed out of the staff—as if it were a water hose!

The water was very effective. It was killing the fire quickly.

"Ice Goblin Wizard..."

A Ranger whispered, and he then pulled on his bowstring and fired an arrow that shot forward at amazing speed.

It was coming straight for the Wizard’s head, but then, the Ice Goblin Wizard suddenly swung the staff and smashed the arrow into pieces.

"Ah, it destroyed my arrow!"

The Ranger was shocked.

Hearing that, Fang Raon looked over with a frown and then saw two more hooded Ice Goblin Wizards walking over.

Now there were three of them.

They all started casting water magic to kill off the fire, and the Rangers tried stopping them, but they defended against all the arrows!

’They are better than I imagined.’

Fang Raon thought, and then he put his hand on the Rangers’ shoulders to make them stop wasting their arrows.

"Enough of that. Go help other players with the Ice Goblins. I’ll go handle those Wizards by myself."

He said.

The Rangers nodded and noticed that the Ice Goblin army was coming for every player over a thousand of them!

They gulped in fear, but they were Rangers, so they could stay at the back, just shooting arrows, so that made them slightly more relieved.

"Do you need help?"

The blue-haired Mage asked of Raon.

"No... I’ll handle this alone."

Fang Raon said and started walking towards the village, which was pretty much abandoned by now.

He entered a street, and at the end of the street, the Ice Goblin Wizards were blasting water from their staffs.

"Flame Breath Blast!"

At that moment, Fang Raon breathed out flame from his mouth—like an dragon—and he caused the buildings to start burning again.

Ice Goblin Wizards looked at him with frowns on their faces. They looked very unfriendly.

"I can’t let the three of you go in the way of our plan, now can I? I’ll be your opponent."

Fang Raon said with a smile.

Ice Goblin Wizards didn’t understand him, but they had an idea what he was talking about, and they accepted the challenge.

They tightly grabbed on to their staffs, and at the same time, they raised them and cast another spell.

"Aruk Ku Kara!"

In front of them, they created a snow avalanche, and it started moving through the street like a destructive force of nature.

"Heat Gaze."

Fang Raon’s eyes started burning with flames, and he then shot fire from his eyes and burned through the avalanche.

The avalanche came crashing on him, but the Heat Gaze bore a hole through it, and thus, Fang Raon just walked through it like it was nothing.

Seeing that, the Ice Goblin Wizards were genuinely surprised.

"Never seen something like this? I don’t blame you."

Fang Raon smirked, and then his eyes burned again, and a flaming beam shot out of his eyes, and it pierced through one of the Ice Goblin Wizards.

The burning fire started destroying the Ice Goblin Wizard’s insides, and it screeched with a horrifying scream.

After a short while, it collapsed to the ground.

CLASH~! CLATTER~! CLING~!

In that moment.

Loud screams, the sound of weapons clashing, and player shouting came from behind him, and as he turned around, he saw the players clashing with the goblins.

There were so many Ice Goblins that he could barely see the players, and they were instantly being pushed inside the tunnels.

’There are so many of them... Can we really kill all of them?’

A doubt started rising inside Fang Raon.
