Chapter 391 - 343 All Men Are Generally Dark (Third Update)

When Yi Luowa received Tong Airui’s call, it was already past three in the afternoon.Hearing her say she was accompanying Prince Charles and Mi Xiaotian playing chess, Tong Airui simply told her he’d be busy for a while longer before heading back.

"No one got hurt, right?" Yi Luowa asked softly as she placed a chess piece down.

"No one got hurt."

"Then I’m relieved. Husband, actually... actually, that young girl is quite nice. Try not to make things hard for her."

Tong Airui’s mouth twitched slightly. "You call her a young girl? She just looks young. She’s born on the exact same year, month, and day as you."

"Really! What a coincidence!" Yi Luowa chuckled.

Sitting across from her, Mi Xiaotian made a move, which Prince Charles looked at and then moved back, picking up another chess piece instead.

Mi Xiaotian shook his head in disapproval.

Yi Luowa laughed, "Uncle, you and Grandpa are each making a move this round."

"Then wouldn’t that be bullying you! Make your call while we study the board again." Mi Xiaotian chuckled, turning his attention back to the chessboard.

"Wife, hang up for now. Spend time with Grandpa and Uncle."

"Okay." Yi Luowa responded briefly, only putting down the phone after Tong Airui ended the call.

"Did Airui mention when he’d be back?" Prince Charles asked with a smile.

"He said it’d be later."

The "later" Tong Airui mentioned turned out to be much later indeed — he only returned at eleven in the evening.

Yi Luowa, half-asleep, felt someone climb into bed.

She rubbed her eyes and asked, "Back so late? Did you eat dinner?"

"I did." Tong Airui kissed her forehead apologetically, "I’ll try to come back sooner in the future."

As he spoke, he lay down beside her.

Yi Luowa glanced at him, sensing that something was slightly off. When she looked more carefully, she realized it wasn’t his appearance but his mood. No matter how late he returned previously, he’d always act clingy with her. But tonight, he was uncharacteristically quiet, and she could tell something was weighing on his mind.

"Husband, did something unpleasant happen to you?"

Tong Airui turned his head to look at her, pulling her into his arms. "I’m feeling conflicted."

Yi Luowa laughed, "You’re not the indecisive type. How come you’re conflicted now?"

"I’m human too. Why can’t I feel conflicted?" Tong Airui sighed and explained what had happened today.

After listening, Yi Luowa let out a "giggle," laughing, "Old Eight decided to act sincere for once! You’ve already helped them come together, so stop agonizing over it."

"Wife, help me analyze this. Do you think You Liu’s appearance might be a bigger trap?"

"Based on what you’ve described, it shouldn’t be. If you’re not certain, you can place her near me and let me observe her for a while."

Tong Airui shook his head hastily, "Your safety is my top priority. No one who hasn’t passed the vetting process will be allowed near you or our family. As for those people she mentioned, I haven’t acted yet. I’ll wait until the base is secured to make any moves."

"The base is in Haotian’s territory. Acting on your own might lead to complications, no?"

Tong Airui chuckled, "You think I’d be foolish enough to waste resources clearing scum for Emperor Haotian? Tonight, Dapeng is taking people to survey the terrain. If the map You Liu provided proves accurate, I’ll hand it over to Emperor Haotian, and he can fight however he likes."

Yi Luowa laughed, "That’s just your style, summed up in one word: cunning!"

"Cunning? You haven’t seen the worst of me yet!" Tong Airui’s hands started to wander under her clothes.

Yi Luowa grabbed his hand, "I think before you make any moves, you should find that pretty boy You Liu mentioned first. Who knows, you might fish up something bigger. At that point, Emperor Haotian would definitely thank you even more."

Tong Airui shook his head, "Haotian wouldn’t be grateful; that person is someone he can’t bear to deal with. Duma and Kai Di are two thorns in his heart. They cause him pain, yet he can’t bring himself to pull them out."

"You’re saying that person is someone aligned with Kai Di?"

"You Liu sketched a drawing of the man. I glanced at it; he’s one of Kai Di’s lovers. That woman has never behaved herself. Luckily, Haotian doesn’t let her do as she pleases. Dapeng said he found a batch of ’new guests’ on the island, likely Haotian’s men."

"With you keeping an eye on Kai Di for so long, Haotian wouldn’t possibly be neglecting her. Husband, where did you place You Liu?"

"I let her temporarily stay at a small base." As Tong Airui spoke, his free hand began its mischievous endeavors.

Feeling a chill, Yi Luowa glanced down. To her surprise, in just this brief exchange, her blouse buttons had already been undone.

"Tong Airui!"

"Yes?" Fourth Master (Tong Airui) gazed at her with pure amusement.

Yi Luowa tilted her head and bumped against his chin. "Do you have two brains or something? One’s still discussing serious matters, while the other is doing something perverse!"

"Doing this doesn’t require brains..." Tong Airui whispered softly in her ear.

Yi Luowa laughed and shoved him lightly, "Stop being a scoundrel, will you!"

"Nope!" Tong Airui flipped over and pressed her beneath him...

Tong Airui didn’t discuss You Liu’s matter with the family for the moment. He decided to observe for a while first.

You Liu remained at the small base, and Mi Chenxuan was also specially allowed to stay there.

On June 16th, the family departed for Z Country.

Before departure, Tong Yao repeatedly reminded Long Che not to quarrel with Ning Mingxi.

Long Che pouted but nodded.

However, for Long Che not to argue with Ning Mingxi would be a miracle. Once they arrived in Z Country, the two nearly got into a fight again over the money for the newlywed’s name change etiquette.

Ning Mingxi argued that Long Che put forth more money than she, the mom, which was absolutely unacceptable.

Long Che flipped out on the spot.

Tong Yao stormed upstairs in frustration.

Yi Luowa tried her best to mediate, and the conflict finally settled. After calming Long Che and Ning Mingxi, Yi Luowa followed Connie upstairs to speak with Tong Yao.

Tong Yao laughed as soon as she saw them come up and shut the door. "You two don’t have to talk me out of it. I’m not mad. If I got mad at them every time, I’d probably die from anger. If I didn’t fake being angry just now, they’d argue even harder."

Yi Luowa and Connie exchanged a glance and burst out laughing.

In the afternoon, Xiaoyudian, Teng Ai Ni, Ni Lu, and Teng Tianxiang arrived one after another, and the house instantly became lively.

Duoduo ran over to Yi Luowa as soon as he saw her, reaching out his little hands for her to hold him.

Yi Luowa picked him up with a smile, "It’s only been a few days, and our Duoduo is already running."

Xiaoyudian gently lifted Duoduo’s bangs and said sympathetically, "He didn’t learn to walk first; he learned to run. Look at his forehead; there’s still a bruise there from all the falling."

"Oh, my poor little darling!" Yi Luowa kissed Duoduo’s chubby cheeks lightly, and he giggled happily.

Teng Ai Ni walked over, wanting to check Duoduo’s forehead. Duoduo, thinking she was going to carry him, clung tightly to Yi Luowa’s neck in a panic.

Teng Ai Ni pursed her lips, "Little show-off, thinking I want to hold you? Auntie will have a little sister for you tomorrow, and I’ll play with her instead!"

As soon as Teng Ai Ni’s words came out, all the family members’ gazes immediately fell on her belly.

Lance nudged You Jia’s arm and whispered, "Does Ai Ni really...?"

You Jia smiled warmly, "She hasn’t yet. Since the wedding, we’ve been traveling abroad extensively, and she’s too tired. We’re planning to wait a bit before trying."

Teng Ai Ni glared at You Jia inwardly, thinking: This hypocrite! He doesn’t dare tell the truth. Both I and Mother have been wanting a child, but he made an excuse saying if we had one, he’d have to abstain for at least a year. He outright refused to consider it.

Recognizing Teng Ai Ni’s familiar expression, Yi Luowa and Connie exchanged knowing smiles.

After dinner, Xiaoyudian and Qiqige handed over the four children to Monica and Lance. The women headed upstairs to the large room, snacking and chatting.

The day’s theme revolved around collectively teasing Teng Ai Ni!

Though Teng Ai Ni was initially shy, her sisters-in-law and elder sister’s jokes struck a chord. Letting her guard down, she spilled all her grievances.

Once she shared about You Jia’s various "evil deeds," the room erupted in laughter.

"Men are the same everywhere!" Qiqige said, rubbing her aching belly from laughing too hard.

Xiaoyudian managed to climb up from the bed but collapsed again after hearing her sister-in-law’s words, laughing as she said, "Sis-in-law, no matter how bad they are, none are worse than my brother!"

Qiqige playfully patted her.

"Haha... When you and my brother just got married, every time you returned home, you’d complain to Mom, saying my brother bullied you." Xiaoyudian turned to Teng Ai Ni with a smile. "Ai Ni, do you remember that? You were still little then and didn’t understand anything, saying: How did he bully you? I’ll help you get revenge!"

Teng Ai Ni nodded fervently, "I remember! Then Mom got mad and told me to go play elsewhere. Hahaha... Sis-in-law, does my brother still bully you now?"

Qiqige laughed, "Now it’s me bullying him."

"Ah, the tables have turned! How did you manage that? Teach Ai Ni. Look at her poor, pitiful state." Xiaoyudian teased as she sat up.

"What are you talking about? You seem so happy." Jimo Shanshan walked into the room with a smile.

"This isn’t something you should hear... no, wait! You CAN hear this! Hahaha..." Yi Luowa laughed as she scooted over. "Sit down and listen. Sis-in-law is giving us lessons; you should pay close attention. You’ll definitely use this someday."

Jimo Shanshan slowly sat down. "You’re all laughing so much. Do you know what expressions the people outside are wearing?"

"Who’s outside?" Xiaoyudian immediately toned down her laughter. The jokes earlier had been wildly inappropriate. If they’d been overheard, she doubted they’d have the dignity to face anyone.

The moment Xiaoyudian’s voice fell, hurried footsteps came through the hallway.

"They all bolted." Yi Luowa’s face turned red all the way to her ears.

"Who exactly is outside?" Teng Ai Ni asked anxiously.

Jimo Shanshan raised her hand and began pointing at each of them. "All your husbands were outside, eavesdropping. No, wait, there’s one more, someone unusual. Who was that again?"
