Chapter 461: Beyond the Bloodline (FINALE)
Chapter 461: Beyond the Bloodline (FINALE)
The vast existence of an Ultimate Realm couldn’t be fully contained within something like a universe.
There was a reason why Jamie and Kael had been expelled from the Multiverse the moment they reached the Ultimate Realm.
However, Ultimates were capable of restricting their power enough to descend into universes with their true bodies, and Jamie did exactly that, heading into one specific secondary universe and toward a Prime World in a corner of one of its most dominant galaxies.
He appeared in the middle of a street, walking among the mortals of this world, glancing around at a mixture of demons, dark dragons, dark elves, and others before heading toward a towering, luxurious building.
Stopping in front of the building, he looked up and read the sign.
"Noble Baron Hotel."
With a faint smile, he stepped inside, took the elevator to the top floor, and arrived at a glass penthouse, opening the doors to see two other young men already seated in the centre of the living room around a round table, several bottles of wine scattered across it.
As soon as Jamie stepped in, one of them, a man with silver hair like his and pitch-black obsidian eyes, turned toward him and said, "Took you long enough!"
Jamie’s smile widened as he stepped further inside and replied, "Despite me having a billion-year head start on you, you bastard Arthur still somehow beat me to the punch!"
The three of them laughed at that, and as Jamie took a seat on the third couch around the table, the other young man, with black hair streaked with white and grey eyes, poured a glass of wine for Jamie and slid it over while asking, "So, canonically, is this Part 2 of the Crossover or Part 3?"
At that question, Arthur, sitting opposite him, shook his head and replied, "I don’t think so, Evan. Don’t forget the author hasn’t made what we know as Part 2 of the Crossover canon."
"Ah, I see." Evan nodded in understanding, and Jamie sipped his wine before raising an eyebrow and asking, "What are you guys calling Part 2 of the crossover? You lot went and had fun without me?"
"Yeah, it was a lot of fun," Arthur replied with a bright smile.
Evan’s expression contorted at that response, and he immediately challenged it, "Fun? You came into my universe, my planet, and started beating up my friends!"
Arthur raised a hand in mock surrender and replied, "Well, they attacked me first. I was just acting in self-defence."
"Self-defence from you could smite this universe!" Evan shot back instantly, smacking the table in front of him.
Arthur barely held back his laughter, covering his mouth while shaking his other hand as he replied, "Nuh-uh, I wasn’t that strong back then."
Evan stared at him with a deadpan expression that showed he didn’t believe a word.
"Dude, do you really think I don’t know your existence is singular across time? There’s no ’then’ for you, there’s only ’now’."
At that, Arthur’s eyes widened, and he quickly raised a hand. "Spoilers, dude!"
Jamie immediately backed him up. "Yeah, dude, spoilers!"
Evan glared at both of them and told them to shut up, and the two immediately burst into laughter.
"Oh yeah, Jamie, you sensed that guy in the Eighth Multiverse, didn’t you?" Arthur asked.
Jamie nodded and replied, "Yeah, Gazer’s over there, too. How did he end up there?"
At Jamie’s question, Arthur immediately pointed at Evan and shouted, "It’s him! He’s the one who sent Gazer to the Eighth Multiverse!"
Evan’s eyes widened at the sudden accusation, nearly spitting out his drink.
"What the hell? No! I didn’t send Gazer there! It’s not my fault he ended up there!"
"Not your fault?" Arthur asked with a raised eyebrow. "Then whose flames were it that burned reality and created a massive tear that dragged everything nearby, including Gazer, inside and tossed them across the Cosmos?"
Evan’s brows furrowed at Arthur’s very detailed explanation of events and shook his head.
"That was Prisma! Prisma is my past incarnation, not the current me."
However, Jamie and Arthur didn’t believe him for even a second.
"Nah, Evan, you’re not getting out of this one," Jamie said.
"Gazer is there because of you. Go bring him back later," Arthur added.
Evan stared at both of them in disbelief as they teamed up against him, and the two of them laughed while picking at some of the snacks on the table in front of them.
"This is fun," Arthur said. "We should meet more often. Bring our wives too."
At that, Jamie set down his glass, a thoughtful look crossing his face as he said, "Thinking about it, Mira technically isn’t my wife."
His words made Evan look at him with an expression of disbelief.
"Dude, what the hell? Just marry her already. You’ve been together a billion years. I tied the knot with Liz before this body even turned twenty."
Arthur glanced at Evan from the corner of his eyes, then scoffed as he muttered, "Braggart."
Evan, however, heard him clearly and instantly snapped back.
"Before you call me a braggart, Arthur, how about you take those rings off your fingers?"
"What rings?" Arthur replied, holding up empty fingers.
The innocent look he wore made Evan clench his fist as he muttered under his breath.
"I swear I’m gonna punch this bastard to the dawn of creation."
Jamie and Arthur laughed at that, and Arthur refilled his glass as a pair of rings silently reappeared on his left ring finger.
"Congrats on reaching Ultimate, Jamie."
Lifting his glass, Arthur added, "To our fellow protagonist."
Evan raised his glass too, and the three clinked glasses, downed their drinks, and set them back on the table in unison.
Arthur then said, "Right, Jamie, your story basically starts after you’ve already reached near the peak of conceivable power, so I’ve got a few questions."
Evan nodded in agreement, picking up a strawberry from his subspace and tossing it into his mouth. "Yeah, same here. How did it all start?"
Understanding what the two wanted to know, Jamie slowly slid his glass around the table in circles, a faint smile forming as he replied, "I guess it’s story time then."
Both Arthur and Evan narrowed their eyes at him, thinking the same thing.
’He’s gonna do a Title Drop, isn’t he?’
As if sensing their thoughts, Jamie grinned and continued.
"A story about a boy born with the blood of a Werewolf, and how that boy attained immortality Beyond the Bloodline."
