Chapter 460: The View from the Ultimate Realm
Chapter 460: The View from the Ultimate Realm
Jamie floated silently in the vacuum, the distorted reality around him bearing the evidence of the battle that had just unfolded.
Even with the absurd level of power he had exerted, enough to completely snuff out the never-ending number of Zenith Haven versions of himself, Jamie didn’t feel exhaustion.
His Hybrid immortality seemed to have evolved to an entirely new level, and he knew that even if he had waited for Kael to regenerate and attack with their full power, he would still have been able to recover from that damage within seconds, faster than Kael could have ever managed.
The upper limit on how much cosmic energy he could possess kept increasing on its own even without him actively doing anything to expand it, and as he floated there in silence, a voice echoed out.
"So, how does it feel?"
Jamie finally lifted his gaze, turning toward the source of the voice, where he saw a familiar man staring back at him with continuously rotating triangular pupils, the Eternal of Reality, Ranus.
"I wanted to boast about it to everyone, but seeing you, I suddenly lost that drive," Jamie exhaled softly as he looked at Ranus, his new Realm granting him a deeper understanding of the level of power Ranus possessed.
He finally understood something that every Zenith Haven existence who had been in situations similar to his came to understand when they reached the Ultimate Realm.
No matter how much they believed, as Zenith Havens, that they understood the power Ultimates wielded, they understood nothing.
Ranus chuckled lightly at Jamie’s words and then spoke, "Now you know why we all regard you as a ridiculous anomaly, because even with all of this," Ranus said, gesturing to himself, "we still can’t erase you from existence.
Angela Cathedral really created an Immortal Anomaly."
Jamie smiled silently at Ranus’ words and unsummoned the Galaxy Sword. Ranus then asked, "So, what are you going to do now?
You’ve achieved your goal of Ultimate. You finally eliminated that thing that had plagued you for hundreds of billions of years, cleaning up your past mistake. What else is there to do?"
Jamie found himself unable to answer that question immediately.
He had indeed achieved his goals.
He had reached the Ultimate Realm he had pursued for close to a billion years, fulfilling his greatest desire.
And now, it seemed like a certain emptiness began to form within him.
However, that emptiness was quickly suppressed as Jamie’s hedonistic side reared its head, and he looked across the vast Cosmos before him, his perception stretching across the continuously expanding complex Numbered Multiverses, The Dark Multiverse, and The Origin Multiverse in the distance.
As he looked across them, he felt the gazes of many Ultimates across the vast Cosmos looking back at him.
Then he spoke.
"The Cosmos is vast. I could do something new every day and still not run out of things to do, even after billions of years."
His gaze moved across the Numbered Multiverses, past his Third Multiverse, before finally stopping on the Second Multiverse, where he sensed two familiar presences.
"But first, I think I might just go visit some friends."
Ranus raised an eyebrow at that, then glanced toward the Second Multiverse before chuckling and replying, "Yeah, I suppose that’s a good start."
Jamie smiled lightly and said, "I’ll see you around, Ranus."
With those words, he vanished, reappearing instantly in the Zanerth universe in the space between the Intergalactic Accord front lines and the Dead Zone, right in front of all the gathered Supremes, as well as Akari, who had been watching them warily.
—!!!
Jamie’s sudden appearance shocked them all, and Akari instinctively flinched upon sensing his presence.
Her eyes widened as realisation dawned, and she muttered in a mixture of shock and awe, |You fucking bastard. You really did it. You achieved Ultimate.|
Her words echoed through the silence, shock colouring the faces of all who heard.
Before Jamie could respond, a streak of purple light emerged from a rift in space, and he opened his arms as Miranda embraced him.
Jamie silently ran his fingers through Miranda’s hair, then nodded toward Akari.
"Yes, I reached Ultimate."
At that, Akari exhaled softly and said, |Don’t forget to keep your end of the deal. You made us scream at you in front of the entire universe just to bait out one being.|
Jamie laughed lightly at her words and replied with a smile, "Well, they took the bait, didn’t they?"
Akari had no choice but to agree, since Kael had indeed taken the bait she and Jamie had prepared.
She then asked, |So, what are you going to do about the rest? They’ve all lost the power that thing’s existence granted them. The weaker dead life forms vanished entirely, and the Dead Zone itself shrank rapidly.
Most of what’s left are dead life forms around High Tier Deity Realms up to Sub Cosmic Realms, Firmaments at best.
Although Sarina finished off the most dangerous one left behind, there are still a few Cosmic-level ones mixed in, but they don’t have anywhere to run with these ones surrounding the place.|
She finished her statement while gesturing at the many Supremes of Zanerth gathered and watching tensely.
Jamie took one hand off Miranda’s back and stared at his left palm in silence before lifting his gaze toward the Dead Zone.
As he was now, he could erase the Dead Zone and everything within it with a snap of his finger.
However, he shook his head at that thought and glanced toward the gathered Supremes.
"They all gathered here to fight the Neo Extinction Legion, so we might as well make it worth it."
◇ ◇ ◇
The elimination of the remaining forces of the Neo-Extinction Legion was carried out by the Intergalactic Accord under the supervision of the Hybrids.
Jamie stuck around to oversee everything, as well as receive several of Zanerth’s Integration Realm Existences, who came over to pay their respects to him now that he had reached the Ultimate Realm.
News that Jamie Westley, the Crazy Immortal, had become an Ultimate spread rapidly across the Cosmos, his influence in distant dimensions and universes increasing as that knowledge reached them, which in turn further increased the amount of power he could exert across the Cosmos.
When the Dead Zone had finally been cleared of every last dead life form, Jamie then used his Void power to completely erase the Dead Zone, removing the existence of the Zanerth universe’s most dangerous region.
He thought about it for quite some time, weighing the side effects of removing such a region against the consequences of leaving it intact, and eventually decided it was better left gone.
After removing the Dead Zone, Jamie floated silently in the vacuum, staring at the vast empty space it had once occupied, thinking that billions of years from now this space would be filled with millions upon millions of galaxies and their constituent stars and planets, teeming with life that would never know this had once been a region of death.
"Are you going now?" a voice came from behind him, and Jamie turned to see Miranda before nodding with a faint smile.
"Yeah, I’m a bit late after all."
Miranda exhaled softly, then closed the distance and hugged him as she said, "Introduce me to them later. I’m really curious about those other two you said are exactly like you."
"I don’t think it’s just three of us anymore. I may not be omniscient, but with the expansion of my perception after reaching Ultimate, I found out there are more than just three of us in this vast Cosmos.
I sensed another one of us somewhere in the Eighth Multiverse, as well as an old friend from the time I spent playing ’Demon King’ in the Second Multiverse."
"Doesn’t matter. Introduce me to all of them."
Jamie chuckled at Miranda’s words and replied, "Don’t worry, I will."
He patted her back once more and kissed her softly before vanishing, crossing multiversal distance in an instant as he appeared within the Second Multiverse, ignoring all Ultimates who sensed his presence and heading straight for a particular universe among its Cosmic Web.
