Becoming the Wasteland Overlord With My Harem System!

Chapter 292: Splitting Up

Chapter 292: Splitting Up

For the first time in this battle, Envy was injured.

Axel, of course, knew that it was finally his time to get back at this bastard demon and didn’t let up his attacks. Even if he were wielding a pillar made of God’s Mineral that’s roughly five times his height long.

"Take this! And this...!"

With his strength boosted by Overdrive, he could swing it as if the entire thing weighed as little as a feather. Still, the bigger the object, the slower it would be to swing it.

Each swing was definitely slower than when he was swinging a sword. And with each swing, turbulence was created as the pillar created a vacuum through the space it passed through.

""Bastard...!"" The clown’s two copies growled.

Since the swings were slower, it was easier to dodge it by jumping out of the attack’s range. This "minor" opening was quickly taken advantage of by Envy in the next few exchanges.

Aside from the first hit on both clones, neither of them even got scratched by it!

Axel, however, couldn’t help but grin.

"Hehe, scared of my little pillar, you fucker?!" He cursed while swinging it like it was a fly swatter. "I’ll squish you like a pancake with it!"

Of course, it’s not like just because he said so, he could do it in reality. Instead, he was just trying to buy time.

If he continued attacking, keeping up the pressure on the two clones, then he wouldn’t get attacked at all!

’The problem is if he adds another copy or something!’ Axel thought.

He could keep two copies in check, but if a third one joins, then he’s quite sure openings would appear. Thus, he can’t let that happen at all!

’I need to hold on until the girls figure out where I am!’

Of course, Axel wasn’t aware that the Red Zone’s thick miasma actually cut off his connection to the girls in the other dimension—the distance between the two dimensions being too big, as an aside.

Thus, he was simply hoping that the girls would arrive fast, through whatever means they could use.

His wish, however, wouldn’t be answered until a while later.

...

"Witcheria!" Nina roared. "Sir Axel is in Witcheria right now!"

As soon as Mimir mentioned that Axel’s current location was right above her old "base," Nina figured out where he was instantly. After all, she had been there with him, along with Fenrir!

Ria, excited, quickly perked up, pumping her fists.

"Then what else are we waiting for? Let’s go!"

"Wait." However, it was Beatrix who stepped up, stopping her. "Although Fenrir cleared up the demons lurking here, we’re still not sure they’re all gone. Thus, I suggest we split into two teams from here."

One team to look for and help out Axel, and another to stay in this place and watch out for demon remnants and other threats. This way, they can protect what needs protecting while also ensuring that Axel gets a helping hand!

"Then I’ll stay here." The first one to answer was Eve.

She sighed, staring at her new sniper rifle with a sad frown. "Even if I go to My King’s side, I’m sure I wouldn’t be of help. With my weapon unable to deal any damage to the enemy..."

It’s true that she can power up her bullets with mana. And it’s true that it was way more powerful compared to before. However, it still had its limits. Limited by the weapon itself.

Her bullets could only reach up to a point that her rifle could handle, thus putting a natural limit to her maximum output. Even if she poured all her mana into a single shot, it would be useless if it couldn’t even come out of the barrel in one piece.

"Then I’ll stay behind too," Arianne added. "Too many vanguards would just make things more difficult there. I’ll just stay here and support Princess—I mean, Queen Eve."

"Then me too. I’ll stay behind."

"M-Me too..."

Even Maria and Cherry opted out.

Beatrix nodded after listening to them. "Then, who else?"

At this point, two hands were raised at the same time. Turning to see who it was, Beatrix found the two witches, Rosaria and Mimika.

"W-We would honestly be deadweight even if we tag along, so we’ll just stay here..." Rosaria said as if to speak both of their minds at once.

Of course, Beatrix knew it was impossible for these two witches to help Axel. Against a Sin, rather than being a deadweight, they’d simply die before they could do anything!

"It’s fine," she nodded with a smile. "Then, anyone else?"

This time, nobody reacted.

In short, the ones who want to go and help Axel were Ria, Nina, Fenrir, and Beatrix. The rest were staying behind!

After the divide was locked in, Eve and her team walked away, heading toward the stadium. She did find a few familiar figures heading there, after all.

After they split up, Beatrix turned to the other three and made a serious expression.

"Good. Then, first, we should use a Return Scroll to Witcheria. Then, Fenrir will use your ability to help everyone move to where Axel is."

"Ah, I have a few return scrolls left with me!" Ria quickly raised her hand. "I’m not sure where I set them, though. Just that it should be somewhere in the castle... Tehe~!"

"...That should be good enough." Beatrix continued, ignoring the ominous latter part of her words. "Then, let’s go!"

Ria took out the return scroll and held it in her hand. The rest quickly moved behind her, holding her shoulder or back, ensuring contact with her to teleport at once.

"Then, here I go~!"

After confirming that everyone’s already holding her, Ria quickly ripped the scroll, activating it.

SPLASH!

And in the next moment, they all landed in something wet.

"PWAH!"

Of course, thankfully, all of them could swim, so they quickly swam up to the surface and looked around. Nina, as one of the princesses of the Hallbach Queendom, quickly realized where they just landed.

"R-Ria..." She groaned, staring at her playful little sister. "You fucking set the scroll to teleport us into the bottom of Maltus Lake?!"

"E-Ehehe... I thought it’d be funny back then. Didn’t think it’d be me using it..."

Despite her acting cute, the four of them still ended up all wet.

After swimming to the bank—with the background of Nina scolding Ria—they quickly gathered at the bank and lightly dried themselves.

Fenrir didn’t delay, however.

"I can feel Master’s presence now!" She declared fast.

Without delay, she waved her claw, cutting space open. The location that, before, had her use her ability dozens of times was now reachable in one go instead!
